  1. I just burnt that list, and now I am strewing the ashes on my head, SIR. That was impressive, very impressive, thanks for the demonstration.
  2. I really like the deep lug wheels, but not following my idea 100% is something I can not overlook. I note one minus point beside your name on my list. You know, just in case. On the serious side: looks good, though I think the body will be not rigid enough for roll-overs, which is inevitable in this field. Waiting excited for the test video!
  3. That was really pleasure to watch, thank You @Sariel! I see where the Control+ thing is going, I must admit: really good stuff, though I am outdated for it. Also, I am interested about it's lifespan in the rushing world of telecommunication segment...
  4. I do all the time, but in my workplace they always start to mention corporate policies...
  5. New era of Technic off-roaders is here. Exactly what I had in my mind: new hubs and rigid axle integration, only way better, than I expected! Ingenious MOC, I even start to like the CBBS (Connector Built Body Style). Is there any chance for LDD model to be shared for deeper analysis? The only thing what bugs me from now on: what if You shorten the wheelbase (2 seater) and build the most extreme, most capable Lego Off-roader, ever?
  6. 42108: If so, I will definitely buy it. I just loved 8053, and regret selling it. 42107: 2W(heels) - might be a new motorcycle
  7. This will be a monster couple with the 42100, for sure. Great progress!
  8. @kbalage You only missed my emoticon, I was joking. Sorry!
  9. Thanks for the prompt answer, Sir! I see now, it was with the tires (and wheels) of 42082 not the ones from the Unimog, though... Seriously, doesn't the Landy wheel help a bit, as the older ones have much more offset? Maybe... what if You remove the wheel arches? EDIT: something like this would be an easy mod and might work (??) - please don't note the collided liftarms, I know...
  10. @kbalage @Sariel @Anio Can one of You post a picture about the Defender with Unimog tires, and share the viability of this setup, please? Thank You in advance!
  11. We are still talking about LEGO. I have no issues with this system and it's capabilities, some might have - this is absolutely OK. I am sure You agree: we will not fight over this. I know, we all have fun in the hobby in the end.
  12. @nicjasno With LEGO you need to have some abstraction, both visually, both technically. This is what we enjoy so much, this is what makes it less serious. Also it is not intended to replicate 1:1 the big ones, but helps to understand structures, mechanisms. This can be translated as learning too.
  13. I am confused... why the complaint appear now for manual models and gearboxes? Was this an issue at the Porsche or at the Chiron? (I help - the answer is no.) It looks like if something goes in the right direction, people get start to neat picking on other details, which is usually normal... but come on, really is it the existence of the gearbox now? I say, let's be happy about the fact, that this set is the best realized official Technic car to date.
  14. Very nice review @Sariel! The suspension is really spot on, also I am happy to see finally a PUG&Play LEGO model. Could You try and share some pictures with Unimog tires, please? Do they fit/work? They have more off-road pattern, but I suspect they will hit the chassis here and there. Might be some slight modification could help.
  15. Agree with both above comments. 1. I forgot the Reverse gear. 2. That was my thinking too, honestly it doesn't removes much for me from the overall value of the set.
  16. @kbalage and @Sariel Thanks for the informative videos! Might be the shifting sequence issue solved in an easy way: just flip the + - label for the drum. Color here, "SUV" there, I do believe this is the best car set to date from modern Technic lineup.
  17. Some nice pictures can be found here: https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/land-rover-defender-lego-kit-revealed
  18. This... EDIT: sorry, just noticed, that @Paul Boratko posted this already, sorry for the double post.... at least with different background color.
  19. This is really the best thing what could happen, finally a true and talented AFOL was involved in the development, and what an exciting coincidence that You have insights to both worlds! I am really happy for You. Congratulation to this success, I must say, Your story just made my day and pulled the trigger on my buying decision!
  20. 42110: at least it is up to my expectations, which is great! The only things, what I don't really like: the over complicated rear door lock, and the operation of the winch. But at least there is a winch, so it is kind of positive.
  21. Watched the stream official presentation too. It might and probably will be a good car, but the forced presentation of irrelevant details as heritage... pure marketing megablocks. Fits well in current Land Rover / Range Rover lineup, but lost all the character of the old one. Once I get myself over the preconceptions coming from the old one, I might get like it. Admittedly, the LEGO version looks honest to the real thing. This video might be not as funny as Hammond (from Overwatch?), but shows more in-depth arguments:
  22. @SNIPE It is a nice experiment, but I think nothing more - sorry. What should be the reason to make a portal hub... well, more portal? Ground clearance can be increased like they did in 42099 - even rigid axles can be built with similar structure. Offsetting the rotation point of steering is also a disadvantage. I think there is no real benefit would left with such construction.
  23. Weekly video excitement (was online last time as well, but better drop by drop ). User interface insights from Gamecom 2019 by StoneWarsDE:
  24. Thanks for the prompt answer! Keep on with the nice trucks, the 8x8 chassis looks nicely capable.
  25. Looks really good Efferman! May I ask, what tires you are using on the 8x8 chassis, and for which LEGO wheels do they fit (especially for 43,2 x 26 wheel)?
