I am not sure what all the fuss is about, it was just a picture of a lions dream.

Here are two creations displaying the same idea, adding a lot of shells to a standard torso. The three images has been taken with a special tilt-shift 24mm lens on my full frame Canon camera. The lens enables me to rotate the focus plane, so it is not parallel to the sensor plane, and this is why I can have both bear heads in focus, although the distance to them from the camera is very different. Stolen 10214 Tower Bridge - HELP URGENTLY NEEDED!

Don't you have any proof of purchase ? I would think that would be enough. Try and phone LEGO Consumer Service, and see if they can dig out the batch number for Tower Bridge sent to Amazon in Italy. It is possible that the TB sets they had in July all had the same batch number. In fact it is possible that a huge amount of this set produced before July 2012, have the same batch number. It looks like a copy of the method used by a Japanese guy, who made a similar temple. The original is more beatiful, and with box design, showing the content within the box, like a real LEGO set.

The simplest and yet most complex LEGO set of all...

Those vehicles look to be in mint condition. I know people who would give an arm for them. -
Add a bit more function, and you got it.

Rumor: Lego moving brick production away from China

TLG does not have any manufacturing sites in China (or Asia for that matter), only an engineering office and a sales office. There are suppliers though, molding bricks for TLG. Erland Part Design -
I have from time to time voiced my critique of the inconsistency in the design of the build of the heads. How masks/helmets are attached, and how different designs from the years are incompatible. Not that compatibility isn't the norm. Now I can finally relax and hope for a better future.

Gone is the glatorian head. For good. And good that is, the last bionicle ball cup is history. Enjoy.

Thank you for comments. I just edited my post, as I surely also used a lot of the double bushings with 2 and 3 balls. Sculpting shapes like the head with armor (shells) is kind of a fun challenge. I have a few other examples, that I might show later.

But we have to take into account if children understand how to employ this part. They may get confused, when they can't build the part onto other bricks etc. But personally I would like a part like you suggest. I will try and see if I can come up with an idea for a "jumper" type of plate, brick etc, that can actually also be built onto a plate, though fitting better into SYSTEM. Not that it's a part of my job, Part Designers rarely come up with new ideas for parts, but just engineer the ideas from the regular Designers, to achieve the final product. Erland Part Design

Well I have made only a few new parts for 2013 sets, like Space wings, Chima eagle head etc. This is because I've been busy with parts that needed a bit more development, and will be out in 2014. Erik, I see you attached a 1x1 to a 1x2, instead of the 2x2 attached to a 2x2 as I had in mind. Both pieces could enable "smart" builds, but the problem is of course that you can't put the part down on a plate, or put a plate on top of it. I already described my suggestion to Design Lab, and they are surely not fond of parts like these, which I kind of knew before hand. But I haven't given up yet. But in recent years LEGO has focused on making parts that fit well into the SYSTEM in a natural way, so there is hardly any room for "strange" parts. Erland Part Design

In my attempts to learn building with CCBS parts, this "moc" is one of my latest, built half a year ago. This is exclusively built with CCBS parts, except a few Technic axles to hold the tools in both hands, and the few decoration parts added as eyes etc. Torso parts are only used as feet, one for each. The rest of the structure is made with A,B and C Beam parts exclusively. ***Edit*** It's not only A,B and C beams, surely I also used a lot of the double Technic bushings with 2 and 3 balls attached. *** Click on the picture to see it 2000-pixels wide on flickr. The Robot is built as a modular system, where the legs can be taken of, by clicking off three ball cups. Both legs come of together as one structure. Then the robot can climb onto a trike, a motorcycle or similar, and click onto that vehicle. Erland Part Design

As a motorcycle nerd since my childhood, I am amazed at the brick-sculpting and amount of details you managed with such a variety of parts. I have no idea why I never realized that the rim-covers could be used as brake discs. I may add more comments when I have the time to really study all your pictures. Erland Part Design- 71 replies

As a Part Designer I would like the parts I'm working on right now But a part I lacked today at work, was a 2x1 plate connected to another 2x1 plate (in the same plane), forming a T-shape. This would work as a "jumper-part", offsetting parts by half a module. This does not fit well into LEGO SYSTEM, but I could surely see the use of it, enabling 2 module wide structures narrowing symmetrically into a 1 module structure, in a much more simple way than using the 2x1 jumper plate. I think the big apple "poly-bag set" was developed for the opening of the LEGO Brand store in NYC. During the opening they were also building a big apple made of LEGO outside, maybe on some square, or maybe just on the sidewalk. It was a huge apple, maybe 3 meters tall as I remember it.

Well, not many materials weight as much as gold, and I was told today that LEGO had a jewelry maker cast the pieces. A gold-plated piece would weight very little.
-
It is very unlikely that LEGO employees were given such expensive pieces as gifts. In Denmark, this would involve paying a high tax, approx. half of the value of the gold.

It would be very strange if the visor was attached to the helmet via a stud and tube connection. It is not SYSTEM bricks ! The visor is not attached to the helmet at all.

I would not put that much into my selection of emoticon This was the one that fitted best. It means: great, evil, awesome.

2013 will be the first Constraction wave since I started at LEGO, not featuring any new parts engineered by me. I feel a bit sad about it, but at the same time love the bricks I'm doing now. And I promise, 2013 is good. The villains are Erland, Part Design
