  1. It is a solid colored brick painted with one other colour in Billund, Denmark. Erland Part Design
  2. Here is my updated build of the moc shown in this thread here: http://www.eurobrick...9895&hl=cyclops Totally new colour scheme, shorter torso, another head. The original was a bad guy, this guy here looks more friendly. Hope you like it.
  3. Did anyone try putting en egg half together with a cocoon half ? Or putting a 4x4 round plate or brick on top of either of those ? The two parts were designed with that in mind. Erland Part Design
  4. Just built the 16x16 sized crossing from two post above. On a tight track where the train is not done accelerating when passing the crossing, the train does quite some wheel spinning. Tested with yellow 2010 PF train with 4 small wagons.
  5. I just build the crossing shown in the original post, and it works great. Need to try the one shown in the post above this also. The train will lack traction over a longer section, but I guess it's not a practical issue.
  6. Brilliant miniature moc.
  7. This is the minimum that are written on LEGO bricks, a copyright symbol.
  8. Thank you all for feedback. Aanchir gave some on flickr too: He is very right, and I've already redone this moc with shorter torso, but also all new colour scheme. Yes, but hard to make them smaller. Maybe I just need the rest of the model to be larger. Thank you The distorted proportions were a torn in my eye too. There are no (high) friction joints at all in this model. When we were developing the high-friction-joints at LEGO, I had the personal view that they were really not needed. I get around achieving stability by adding complex linkages around the shoulders and hips. Not very set-friendly because of a large number of parts needed, and complex build with sometimes strange mechanisms that can lock up at certain angles of movement. But you can achieve high stability that way too. The number of possible multi-linkage joints is very large, and I have done a lot of experiments but am still far from having something perfect. One thing that is cool about high-friction-joints is that they can work as simple extenders of beams (bones), e.g. making C-type beams (with ball cup at each end), available in not only 3 and 5 module length, but 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. I will post the revised moc soon, colour scheme in Captain America style. Just need to figure out a good head design for that model. Erland Part Design
  9. Cyclops Blue Built, refined, rebuilt, refined, hands still too big. Comments are welcomed.
  10. The torso uses a lot of 5M C-Beams, which kind of forms the spine. I don't know if that can be seen in the pictures from Copenhagen. I went up to the action-figure team today, to see if the model was back from Copenhagen, but it isn't. But I promise I will post stuff on this model in the future. I have been on a shopping rage the last two year's February, HF on sale, so expect large stuff from me too in the future. The piece count will make the helicopter-dude look like a dwarf. 11. My rough estimate would be 45-55 USD for Christoffer's build. Not sure how expensive the helicopter blades are though.
  12. The awesome gun-metallic character shown at LEGO-World in CPH was designed by Christoffer, who has been working on Bionicle/HF since day one. I've been begging him to push this to a product, but it's hard to transform such an expensive build into a set. The painted version (white with green) is not to my liking though. A few months ago I asked Christoffer if I could rebuild his character and post pictures on flickr and here on EB. He promptly suggested me to put it on Cuusoo too. Maybe I should make a copy of his build, and show you all how it looks in detail. The only custom part in the character is the head, everything else is made of available parts. Erland Part Design
  13. Unique combination of stud, technic bushing and 3.2 shaft.
  14. Just completed my series of minifigures series 1-8, by finding 7 and 8 on sale. Now I have to wait a long time, getting series 9, but wow they are very cool. Excellent review Whitefang ! It's really nice that you have done all this reviews of the minifigure series.
  15. The logo on the green stud is not what is used today. It is quite close, but the letters are too wide and with a slightly different shape, especially the "G".
  16. I would suggest fitting it around a cylinder of appropriate diameter, not tensioning the belt, and drop it into maybe 40 degree hot water. I'm not sure how it will work, but I guess you will have to leave it in the circular shape for quite some while, maybe heating it with water once in a while.
  17. I completely agree. But a curved brick like mentioned in the first post, although very useful, don't get close to the awesomeness of pieces like these from 2012: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=99206 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=99207 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=99780 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=99780 Because of these, 2012 should be considered the top year for "snot-builders". As a guy who engineer these parts (I model the bricks in 3D, mostly based on a designers sketch, or 3D sketch), these kind of parts are very boring to do. I like a challenge in my 3D CAD software, NX Unigraphics. Example of parts released in 2013 that are cool to do from a modeling perspective: Space cocoon: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=11598 Eagle minifig helmet: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=12549pb01 Erland Part Design
  18. Well if you mean part design 11271: http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=11271 EDIT: Ok, I get it, on PAB.
  19. Don't expose bricks to something like butter or perfume ! Erland Part Design
  20. Here is the reply from LEGO: http://aboutus.lego....r-wars-product/
  21. Just to make it clear, there are 3 building systems right now, LEGO BRICKS, LEGO TECHNIC and LEGO DUPLO. Bionicle and Hero Factory are based on the LEGO TECHNIC building system, but are not TECHNIC sets, even though they are solely based on LEGO Technic. The same can be said about some Racers sets etc. Erland Part Design
  22. Don't worry, only 0.000001 % of of the population in the country are part of that community, the rest find these accusations just as absurd as 99.9999 % of the people in the rest of the world.
  23. @ AmperZand You are perfectly allowed to bye from any country in the world as a citizen in EU. But if you buy stuff from a seller outside the EU, you are supposed to pay Value added tax (VAT) of your country (in Denmark 25%), and for many type of products, also Custom.
  24. A bit off-topic:LEGO fan reaction to novelties:Boring new sets, no new parts or parts in new colours. Sets are so junior-rised that one would think they were made for 6 year old kids. What a terrible colour for that part, surely the old colour used was better. Would not be surprised if LEGO discontinues the use of the old colour/part combination. What a terrible new part design, surely the old design was better. If they discontinue the old design, I will not be surprised.
