Something strange is going on... So far: Explosion on Gunpowder Island A Message Is Sent A Message Is Recieved At The Headquarters Encounter in the Jungle Don't Shoot Examination Subjects Meanwhile... In the Laboratory Never Alone A Scientific Breakthrough Air Strike ... Saturday evening on Gunpowder Island: Callaghan : Do I have to take another picture? Dr Thaum : Of course, this is such a nice scene on the beach. And it is peaceful now, since the banana mutants have gone. Iauln : Doctor, did you notice those coconut-loaded swallows in the past days? They were everywhere. Dr Thaum : Yes, my dear Iauln, but they also seem to be gone now. Iauln : And now the island is full of banana trees. Dr Thaum : You seem to like those bananas. You are eating them all the time. Iauln : They are just perfect. I have never tasted bananas of such amazing quality. They .... Callaghan : Wait, what was that noise over there? Did you hear that? They rush to the left. Find nothing. Return. Iauln : Look, Doctor! Dr Thaum : I see. Iauln : Yes, my bananas are gone! Callaghan : Somebody's left their trash here on the beach. Dr Thaum : You're a bonehead Callaghan! Dr Thaum : This is no trash. That is the finest silver. And there is a letter going with it. It says: To Dr. Thaum for the discovery of cocorite. Callaghan : From whom? Dr Thaum : It does not say. Must be some secret admirer. Iauln : But where are the bananas? Dr Thaum : Stop thinking about eating all the time! You guys bring the silver to our ship. Quickly! And Callaghan! Callaghan : Yes, Doctor? Dr Thaum : Take a picture first! I love colourful builds like this one. And I would also like to see more pictures!

Looks fine to me so far. Thanks for sharing the WIP pictures. Any chance you find smaller windows for the captain's cabin?

@Roadmonkeytj is right, I got the head through the minifig series. And the wheel too! (brown would not have worked here). I was not aware of a competition between the two of us. Thanks! Those friendly guys, armed with umbrellas, led by a smiling giant mouse? Well, could be scary, but does not have to be Btw I was lucky to have that grey treasure chest.

Thanks Merci. The grey parrot comes from the old adventure sets (Egypt), if I remember correctly. Thanks. I liked the black and white pureness of that Ideas set (which - strangely enough - I still do not own..) Good - somebody has noticed the new approach to brick-built sails. Mimes: I think you are right, nothing will be done (Apart from skulls I do not have white heads that could have been used for the crew. And I did not want this to become a ghost ship.) Yes, maybe these guys are creepy? Thanks. I am not selling

Fine foto, fine scene. And certainly this is a recruitment scene. Those monkeys are always looking out for 2-handers to handle their affairs. So maybe there is a job for Captain Nordau on Gunpowder Island... ??

[Mystery Island 12] Air Strike
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks a lot for your kind feedback. If you have more scientific questions as to the behaviour of banana mutants in a strong field of cocorite then I would have to delegate this to the Marquis. Or maybe Alberto da Pontelli. Or Professor Thaum? It is a swallow squadron, even if that is hard to swallow.... -

Fine creation, pity there are not so many large rowboats around. And it is definitely a "mint" parrot, Gustave can trust his wife on this -
[Mystery Island 12] Air Strike
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is what the coast looks like. I am quite happy with the "new" water, the approach is inspired by ArchitectureFan. The monkeys have secret headquarters, laboratories - why should they not have ships? (Ok, usually they let some humans do the work..) These stories write themselves from some point onwards. In episode 2, @Capt Wolf answered "THIS is the build I want to see!" when I wrote "Did you know that they start those seagulls with a catapult if the load is too heavy?" Ok, now we have that build! oh those cliffhangers ... Thanks for water and story comments! The answer: The air-speed velocity of the laden swallow depends on the catapult that was used to "start" them, This is a medium-sized catapult, so the swallow will make some 15 miles per hour. The Marquis should be able to do the mathematics. -

Fine ship! And the insight: sails don't have to be white-ish. -
Something strange is going on... So far: Explosion on Gunpowder Island A Message Is Sent A Message Is Recieved At The Headquarters Encounter in the Jungle Don't Shoot Examination Subjects Meanwhile... In the Laboratory Never Alone A Scientific Breakthrough ... As commanded by the General, the two airforce carriers "Curious George" and "Boring Johnson" were patrolling the coast of Gunpowder island. One day on the "Curious George": ... Look! There! Banana mutants! The assistant readied the catapult for the first swallow that would carry a mean coconut to its destination. It is understood that a swallow carrying such a heavy load must be started with the aid of modern technology. Guided by monkey shouts the mean-coconut-bombing turned out to be amazingly precise! And the predicted effect set in as the dreaded banana mutant turned into a banana tree: Then the mean coconut, dropped by the second swallow in the swallow squadron, hit its target with devastating power: ... and again, the tree count increased by one. The Marquis and the General were delighted! The swallows were happy to get a rest. The crew of the "Curious George" was cheering and a new ration of banana rum was quickly consumed. And they were right in their optimism. Just two days later the operation "Clean Sweep" was finished and no banana mutant was left on Gunpowder Island. The General turned to the Marquis: "You said that there was something special about these new trees. What is it?" The Marquis smiled: "Let me explain..." Something strange is going on... So far: Explosion on Gunpowder Island A Message Is Sent A Message Is Recieved At The Headquarters Encounter in the Jungle Don't Shoot Examination Subjects Meanwhile... In the Laboratory Never Alone ... The Marquis was reporting something exciting to the General: As you know, we have been investigating ways to defeat the horrible mutant banana creatures. So far we have been experimenting with coconuts that are being dropped from a great height: We had expected an impact on the banana mutants when a coconut is dropped from at least 500 feet. However, the first experiments have shown no effect. The banana creatures were unharmed. But then we found a way to transform the ordinary coconut. Now my assistant will show you what we can do now to enhance the coconut: Just one small drop of the substance will be applied to these three ordinary coconuts. As you can see, they turn into really mean and vicious coconuts! And now we expect the following to happen: When hit by a mean and vicious coconut, the banana mutant will remember its harmless resident form and turn into a banana tree! General: And what is this strange substance that turns coconuts into mean coconuts? Marquis: It is called "cocorite". We had a theory that such a substance would exist. But only yesterday it was actually discovered by a human by the name of "Professor Thaum". General: Fantastic results, Marquis! Quite impressive. We will prepare the carriers and get into action! [Mystery Island 10] Never Alone
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The bananas keep getting more and more dangerous And now we have "cocorite"? Let's see where this discovery will take us - or will it? Poor GlooGloo -
Looks funny!

I remember seeing this island when you started working on it. Now it is finished (or is it?) - and it is fantastic. I strongly hope it will inspire more pirate islands!

[Mystery Island 9] In the Laboratory
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
quite right, Albert Orangustein has founded the theory behind this storyline... Thanks. The trans blue thingies are inspired by professor Thaum. And it is indeed an old 70s torso Thanks, I'll tell the monkeys that you liked it.
