  1. Thanks. My wife said that the Toy Story crew was the right crew! Yes, perfect, that was it. I'm quoting you now: This is the homework!
  2. I must admit due to RL I lost track of BoBS in the past half year. But this nice MOC is inspiring to spend more time here again. Well done. And I try to understand what you meant about "brick and plate".
  3. Not quite a story, but I am back The "training ship" has been built using only regular techniques. Well spotted! I was trying to link to one old entry (I believe it was from you) where pirates are being taught how to say "Arrrr" - but I could not find it... Thanks, So we already have different opinions about the "large crew". When you think about how many sailors actually served on those ships, the "large crew" might be closer to reality. But where do they sleep?
  4. Fine and clever story. Good look to the Fenris Ranger!
  5. The "Two Towers" again? Fine creation. I especially like the building in the middle. Nice choice of colours.
  6. Great MOC, it has a phantastic atmosphere to it!
  7. Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. Straight on to our first lesson: 1) The Pirate Ship Every pirate needs a ship. But this must be well chosen. Otherwise you may end up with something too small: ... or too big You should aim for something in the „just right“ category: Now that we have covered this, you are ready for your second lesson: 2) The Crew: A ship can have a crew that is too small for its size: ...or too large ... or you might just end up with the wrong crew Actually, 8-10 skilled sailors should do for a ship of this size. That's it for now. Please come back next time for lesson 3. And don't forget your homework: Arrr! Next Lesson
  8. And I don't even remember that chair!
  9. Thanks. I am trying to turn this into a series. I will run out of lettered tiles though
  10. After "You Only Live Twice" I am following up with the next JB micro - featuring: Scaramanga's flying car Scaramanga's junk James Bond's airplane Those famous rock islands... The movie was released in 1974. For some reason the villain had a car that could turn into a plane. The hero did not have anything that nice... Well he had this "standard" plane. And then the survivors sail away with that junk (is it really spelt this way?). Hope you enjoy this!
  11. Thanks. The vehicles were challenging. (And they might be a bit too big for the rest of the scene... )
  12. I tried to shoot some, but they did not turn out well. YOLT is a classic Bond movie but very flawed in terms of the storytelling... Just like the latest Star Wars flicks Anyway, I still have a crush on the 1960's Bond films, they had some sort of "style". Next? Let's see Thanks. Once you get to see the movie, you will understand those 4+1 helicopter thingies As by 1960s standards, the film is "high paced". They needed that to cover the plot holes.. On the other hand: When do you get to see a villain located in a vulcano base? (Yes, ok, Austin Powers maybe...)
  13. Nice place! (... except for that one special animal..) (And good, that there is no confusion with "Captain Cookie" ) All the best to you for 2020!
  14. You're right. Unfortunately the series seemed to have started and ended with the Aston Martin. Thanks for your comments and your decision. Tracey Island - let's see. I have a few more Bond sets on my mind
  15. Oh, right. How could I forget that? Still, to me it does not feel like a licensed theme. Let the moderators decide. Thanks for the positive comment. Did I mention that the MOC is partially lit by some light bricks hidden underneath?
  16. Thanks I started with the one helicopter in the volcano base and then it seemed to be better to have four of them. ? James Bond is not a TLG license theme.
  17. I've been thinking about doing a James Bond MOC for some time. And Blofeld's vulcano from the 1967 "You Only Live Twice" adventure was my first choice. Yet I feared that it might get too large, take too long and might turn our less interesting than expected. So I decided to try it out on a micro scale: That has worked out quite well IMHO (I don't think I would have had the bricks for a minigure-scale MOC.) So here are the things required for the set: The vulcano base, the four black helicopters, the spaceship (it should have been silver but red looked better amongst all the light and dark grey), the giant world map, the funny cars, ... Blofeld's private cave rooms. And there is "Little Nellie", of course. ... and there is also that cave entrance. I am quite happy with the result. I hope you like it too. (Pictures can be found on bricksafe)
  18. Marvellous, both in its grand scale but also in the many details, especially the automobiles. That is a great start for a new member here at Eurobricks. I hope we do not have to wait 18 months to see your next creation.
  19. I had to switch the browser. Chrome is fine, my firefox doesn't like those picture links anymore.
  20. I don't think this is mediocre by all means - or were you just fishing for compliments?
  21. Thanks! I have used new sticker sheets and spent some time in cutting our those little pieces... As to the event: Most of my photos unfortunately haven't turned out too well. So maybe, the other members of the pirate gang will put up something. Nevertheless, here are a few links/pics: Thanks man!
  22. This is my attempt to MOC an existing castle (the small one of the two in Birlinghoven, Germany). This is how the castle was presented at BrickMania Antwerpen earlier this month. The windows have been created with the help of many many small stickers/decals... Have a nice weekend! CB
  23. This is really great. Makes me think I should return to castle building IMMEDIATELY
  24. Great ship! And all that work with the rigging, congrats!
