Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. Once again the classroom was filled with illustrious pupils: "So, what is the usual penalty for not having prepared the homework? Anyone? Jack?" Jack Merker: "The whip?" "Naaa, not the whip. We are talking about forgotton homework, not an offence against an officer. Tristan?" Tristan Rimbaud: "Keelhauling?" "Of course not, what if the dog has eaten the homework, would you keelhaul a puppy-dog? Nobody? Ok, then I'll tell ya. The standard penalty for forgetting pirate homework is: you walk the plank." "So, I guess everyone has done their homework?" The classroom was full of nods and silently whispered "yes, sir"s... Previous Lesson

Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. There has been some debate about the previous lesson, so we are going to recap why it is not such a good idea to go for too big guns: But let's move on, we have a lot more to cover this year. Our next topic is: What are the ideal companions for a pirate? Sometimes you might make a weird choice here: ... or you end up with your usual gang of drinking buddies: Sometimes you are joined by pirate comrades: ... and sometimes there might be too much monkey business: And you may not forget that pirates are quite fashionable with the ladies... But the correct solution is, of course: A parrot is the pirate's perfect companion! I have one question for you guys: Can you tell me, which pirates are currently attending this training course? (with pictures!) It is obvious that Nordau and Whiffo are attending, but who else? Previous Lesson Next Lesson

Arrival at Elysabethtown
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have to add some praise: The pier is really good, I think I will copy that approach. Looks marvellous. (I was coming back here to show the scene to my wife, who is a huge fan of Captain Jack's arrival in Port Royal. Then I noticed some more details!) -
Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. Today we are heading for lesson four: Cannons. Again there are many pitfalls that need to be avoided. This, for instance, is field artillery. Stay away from these guys and their guns. Proper cannons for pirates are available in different sizes: But you will need more than just one man to operate your cannons. A decent approach for a pirate ship will look something like this: And again, there is the danger that your crew and your cannons are too small: Neat, but no so effective, though the bear can be a fierce opponent in hand-to-hand cobat. So you might want to go for something bigger. But beware: Do not get yourselves entangled in the much-feared "size matters" discussion! So, seriously: Do not try this at home or on your ship! And now the homework for the next lesson: How many different sorts of parrots exist and which of them make a good companion for a pirate of decency? Arrr. Previous Lesson Next Lesson

Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. I hope that everyone has done their homework. Now, onto lesson three: The sails of the ship and your pirate logo. As part of your marketing activities you may want to have your pirate logo on the sails of the foremast. But be careful: You need to select the right logo. "Peace & Love" may not be in line with your overall activities. You may choose something more piraty: The eyes are alway very important! You might get that wrong. Also, be conservative in your choice of colours. This will probably do: Yohoho! This sums up today's lesson. Whiffo? Have you been listening? What did I just say? And what is that under your table? A bottle of rum? That is confiscated! Go away now! Previous Lesson Next Lesson

[MOC] Wicked Wench vs. Spanish Fortress by MattedBricks
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Epic! -
Fine build and excellent palm trees. I was going to protest about the monkey in the cage but then I realized that there is much space between the bars. So I understand, that is the monkey's look-out.

Arrival at Elysabethtown
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Really beautiful MOC and - as intended - for some unknown reason Captain Whiffo's arrival does not remind me of Pirates of the Carribean at all...
