Looks cool - is it meant to be steampunk?

Review: 76019 GoG Starblaster Showdown
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Fine review, thank you. I'd also be in this for the minifigs. -
Well, whatever you do with it, the orange colour is a problem. Very few sets/MOCs can stand the use of orange.

Licensed Sets LEGO Missed the Ball On/Never Made
Captain Braunsfeld replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
I perfectly agree. I have always regretted not to have bought the initial batcave set. In 2012 we just got less for a higher price. -
Let me add the Dutch army:

Chibi Destiny's Bounty
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Garmadon's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That is a nice approach for a boat. (Sorry, I don't follow the Chibi contest) What is the lever behind the mast?- 14 replies

This is so great. Not only funny but also extremely well built. Do we need to fear that the castle walls will come down? I hope for the falcon knight that his colleague will become aware of his plight.

Challenge III Cat C: The Weapon
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Infernum's topic in Guilds of Historica
Actually, after I saw your MOC where the missile hits the drow fortress, I thought that it is useless to try something similar, because (as I said above) it is just fantastic. If you want to see a tower collapsing after it has been hit, THIS is the post to go to! -
This little jewellery shop really has got style! The choice of sand green (is it?) for the roofs is very aesthetic. The medieval architecture is just fine. Most of all, I like the fact, that this is beautifully compact. (I can't describe this in a better way, de Gothia, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say).

What is the best LEGO theme?
Captain Braunsfeld replied to LegoGuyK's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I liked Adventurers, Indiana Jones and Pirates (let's see what comes up for Pirates in 2015). Now, I am more into LoTR and Castle stuff. -

2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yepp, no compass and ropes. I bought some of those using Bricklink because we will obviously not see a new source of supply. The minifigs: That is the most interesting part. (As I said: A bicorne in blue - wonderful!) -
Focus on black? Black is not the best lego colour to use as you end up not seeing much in the overall blackness. But you seem to keep some of the initial white. If that stays the same you will have a nice contrast (and not "overall undistinguishable blackness")

[REVIEW] The LEGO Movie | 70818 Double-Decker Couch
Captain Braunsfeld replied to LEGO Ink's topic in Special LEGO Themes
A good review - thanks a lot. So, I might buy this set to get those characters. I also had a couch as part of Metalbeard's Sea Cow but I think I disassembled it quite quickly- 11 replies

2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well, to get cannons with wheels we wil have to buy 70409 multiple times... What is worse for me is that the overall look and appearance of the ship is a bit disappointing. It is a remake that lacks the charm of the 90s ships. (This is, I agree with you, Captain Roger) Not buying it, however, will not be an option (.... don't make it bad, take a sad ship and make it better!) -
Same for me ...

One more "Attack on Lake Town" set. -
Ok! I have some sympathy for dwarves, so I hope that the dwarf reaches the fishing line in time!

Hello Garmadon, SNOT ice and rockwork are fine, also underwater plants will bend in the current. However, from the point of view of physics, I am as puzzled as some of the others: Underneath the ice you will find liquid water. Once the dwarves dig into the water, their tunnels would be flooded. In cold winters you get a thicker ice cover, but that is about it. So, sorry, the dwarf could not be standing there. Unless, you mean to say that the whole river is frozen, just that the lower ice is more crystal clear.

Well, that is a great fire station indeed! I am a fan. This is very well done, both from funcition and architecture point of view. And it fits beautifully within the other city buildings.

Where do you keep your Minifigures?
Captain Braunsfeld replied to timmorgan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is this still about where to store minifigs? Well, each of the series had so many "must have" figures for me that I just have too many to place them anywhere in a presentable way. So they are stored away, one cardboard box per series, covered with the flyers that come with each minifig. My key question is: When I do not find a minifigure in the box where I expect it, where can it be? -
Fine!
