What a nice place Malcumus Erlond has chosen to live in. Great work! -
Maximum number of unique soldiers?
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Zilcho's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice mathematical exercise! I just bought the castle battleback (four knights in blue). 4 heads 3 helmets 4 weapons 2 legs 3 torsos 2 shields not counting the "gold chrystal". That would give 576 variations (neglecting the "no shield" option). But because e.g the shields are only included once, I would have to buy the set 288 times. That is a bit too much. Altough it would be less expensive than the creation of the 2516 orcs! -

The river is well done and I like the dwarf bit. The outpost's shape is fine, but - sorry to say - there are too many colours in the tower. The cyclops encounter is also good and funny!

This has a "friendish" look and feel to it. Quite nice. Seeing the pictures I assumed that Dr. Spock might like this - and he has already commented. You have included a lot of specials and done a lot of detail work (e.g. stairs inside and outside) which makes this MOC special. Very well done!

A well-stacked store - that's what you need when winter comes. A nice addition to the winter world. -

MOC: Dunehill Castle
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
Ok, let me answer this in a structured way: First of all thanks for the positive feedback The cactus: Well, once the pictures were done, I realized that the plate in front was not aligned anymore... The SNOT-type rockwork: That was a "premiere" for me. First time I tried this and this is also why it only happened in a small part of the landscape. It is actually an idea for a redesign to do the whole front bit in SNOT-type. UoP credits: I probably should have posted in the guilds forum, but having decided to support Mitgardia I thought I cannot post something that might fit into Avalonia. Or would that have been ok? "Dark red": This is not dark red. It is this "redder than dark tan" colour (whatever name TLG have chosen). and reddish brown is in there. But maybe you're right and I should take them out. The above pic gives you a chance to look at the ill "creek" flowing there outside the rainy season. And here's an overview of the rear side:- 29 replies

BII Cg. III Cat A - Statue of Bofur Silveraxe
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for your encouraging feedback! Well, to me that is one key point in dwarven design: Everything gets a little higher than necessary. I actually started with just the top of the pedestal. And then I added the other two segments and I felt "the dwarf spirit"! Thanks - hmm, I thought these pics were fine. I have chosen black as background in order to have a decent contrast to the silver helmet and axe. And, actually, on the first pic the silver axe really shines! (no photoshop trick) So, what should I do? MassEditor liked the photography....- 24 replies

Transporting the Mead (mead series III)
Captain Braunsfeld replied to kabel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Charming. All of your recent builds are useful to take us away from grey winter to a green spring and summer. -
Great work - I am actually most impressed by the round tower. If it were my creation I'd put eyes on the ledges but your version is, of course, more aesthetic. Well done!
-
Yes, excellent. The tree has also turned out fine! And the building is very nice, good choice of colours.
-
Wolfpack shelter? I understand, that is where they are hiding nowadays I like your grassland - and the tent is awesome.
-
Congratulations - your bell tower is excellent! I'd be interested in the LXF file!

CCCXII - Blacksmith and Armory shop
Captain Braunsfeld replied to don leopold's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Welcome to Eurobricks, Don Leopold! Your MOC is a fine creation with lots of little great ideas. However, as so many things are going on, the pictures would benefit from having a larger size. 800x600 is usually accepted here. And you do not need to upload the pictures here, we usually link to something like flickr or brickshelf - which you can find in the FAQ (Tutorial - Posting pictures from Flickr on Eurobricks) Back to the MOC: I really like the blacksmith working and the guys making the swords! Brick on!
