Agents (2008/9) - Villain's Lair
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Xyver's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ah, now I see the whole upgraded lair - excellent! Always important for a villain to stow away all those vehicles -
I have been able to spot 3 frogs - two small ones and a cute bigger one. Maybe a strange inventor lives in this house, who is building strange frogs in his spare time? Well done - entertaining again.

"And christmas cacti grow" ?? Well this sounds strange, but the MOC is good. Christmas Tree embedded in the entrace is noted! And the sand green trees are also innovative. Brick on!

That is a nice cottage and I am relieved to see that the minifigs look much happier when inside the house. Also, and this is more, they have not been eaten by the icebear! Brick on!

I wanted to write "cute" but all the others had said that already. So I say ...

An impressive city wall and a nice new approach to market stands. This is a lovely, lively scene! I am, however, a bit surprised to see that you are using tall dwarves as city guards -what is the reason behind this?
-
Hello everyone, this is my first participation in a challenge. The MOC is part of the dwarf quest - A: Ancestors and Heroes. Three dwarves are visiting the statue of famous Bofur Silveraxe. They pray for strength in the battles to come. (One of them is the commander of the attack boats I presented recently) This is also the first time I have tried some mosaic technique for the floor. This is why the result is so "modest" - other builders are already much more experienced in this sector. All the best for you for 2015! edit: Can someone correct the typo in the headline?

Dwarven Attack Boats in Tradewind Bay
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
You're right. That is why I also did not put any minifigure up in the crowsnest. It would also spoil the overall impression. -
Wow, this is also excellent. Where can I start? Blue roof? Round blossoming tree? Water and waterfall? Everything works out very well in this MOC!
-
It took me a while to sort this out MOC is good, path is very fine (takes ages to do, right? ) I bet that the left "vehicle" will win.

Very sad to hear this. All the best for 2015!

Under $50 will be difficult in my opinion. My observation on bricklink is that - due to missing TLG output - the ship parts are drying out (hull, mast, etc.). At the same time, the price seems to increase, but that is not as bad as the parts being not available in the first place. Matthias' idea sounds very practical. If you want to spend more money, you could go for Metalbeard's Sea Cow and turn it into a normal ship. The friends ship also offers hull parts in white. (which makes them available on bricklink, but it might be the wrong colour for your purpose). Good luck!

Dwarven Attack Boats in Tradewind Bay
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks for your comments! I had built an initial version of these boats some years back, long before the Hobbit set came out. Now, I just used their technique to combine the boats because it looked a bit better than my initial attempt. The only way to get a decent long boat is: to build it yourself as a custom hull. Let me explain where the tilted masts are coming from. At first they were straight but due to MBS (missing brick syndrom) I did not have the right technic brick in brown. (One mast is in black and the other one in brown) Then I toyed with the tilted version and then I thought that this gives the MOC a bit of "drive" or "energy" or "dynamics". So that's why I also changed the black mast to the tilted version. And I am quite happy with it. -
CCCXII - Drink Airag Responsibly
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Disco86's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You're very busy producing MOCs - quite good. Now, this is not a castle, is it? Nethertheless an interesting creation. Among the details I like the "window" of the tent and the use of coats for the tent's roof. -

Terrific! The explosion of the wall is great. Interesting use of those bushes. Very well done! -

Very good - both story and landscape. Especially, I like the combination of sand green with the light blueish grey slopes. Works out really well! -
CCCXII - Castle Siege - Under attack
Captain Braunsfeld replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like the battlements and the siege equipment. -
Forced perspective and trees are very good - also innovative to use those "stairs" for the bridge.

Right, you said you have around 194 bluecoats. My green Prussians can come to support, if need be. (but they are only approx. 22)
