  1. Interesting thoughts, but I would encourage you not to put too much weight on your anecdotal experience. For example, I didn't see the same steep discounts on Benny's squad here in Texas. That's not to say they didn't go on sale in Texas due to slow sales, nor is this representative of the entire US, and especially not representative on a global scale. The foundational issue here is that TLG doesn't report sales performance, and any evidence we can gather is doomed to be anecdotal. If you're a pessimist, you can find data to support your position of slow sales for 90+% of what's available. If you're an optimist, the opposite.
  2. Except that they never stay in stock.
  3. Amazing! Nice color selection, and you really nailed that feel of a vintage Bronco. Now, not only do I want a real one, I want this Lego version!
  4. I think a wide release would fix the BAM frustration. Having to get to a Lego retail store with the perfect timing is frustrating, but from my personal experience, I have never had difficulty finding a wide release item I wanted. If you think it's tough collecting Lego at retail, try Hasbro action figures. THAT is frustration incarnate, and part of the reason I left that hobby behind and doubled down on Lego. Comparatively, Lego is MUCH easier to get what you want.
  5. Yeah, I'm being much more greedy than that. Multiple factions with multiple torso options please.
  6. Since the beginning, there have been multiple torsos for a single faction. This was nurtured further starting with Fantasy Era through Kingdoms and 2013: multiple torsos for a single faction, often leading to specific archers with a strap design on the front to justify the back-mounted quiver. Some themes even have multiple torso prints with anything from printed armor pieces to augmented gorget on otherwise plain guard armor. So to answer your question more directly, I "need" more than just a tunic-over-chainmail.
  7. I also think they could print some more money by making supporting minifigs for the new revitalized factions. New archers for the Black Falcons/Lions in the new style would be huge.
  8. Well that’s good news. It’s fun that this one leaked early. Can’t wait to see what else might be mixed in there.
  9. I think things move more slowly than that. I suspect that LotR was piggybacking on the timing of the Hobbit on its own, and that 2013 Castle wasn’t affected either way by Middle Earth because 2013 Castle was always intended to be a one-wave nostalgia play extension of the Lego Movie release (February 2014). Castle wasn’t a big player in the story, but it was present in its 2013 form and is a logical play since a ton of 80’s-90’s Lego kids had kids of our own. Kind of a safe bet for a classic theme at that time. Very interesting mod. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
  10. Since TLG doesn't share that information, it's really an unanswerable question. The only thing we can point to is that it got a ton of coverage online and on social media, which is its own measure of success.
  11. Unfortunate? Lego wouldn't exist outside of a capitalist system. I don't know where you're located, but go hang out in a communist state and tell me how fair the Lego distribution is. Your rant reads like sour grapes. I'm not rich by any means, and it requires careful consideration of what I can and can't afford. There's plenty I don't have that I would like to have, and that's just the way it is. I'm thankful for what I do have, and I'm not crying about "the system". The way in which someone collects a toy doesn't have anything to do with greed. I certainly don't know you well enough to come to any sweeping conclusions, but based on this conversation, it appears that your worldview is poisoning you understanding of how things work. Seems like a bitter way to live.
  12. Well of course it’s subjective, lol. I was just stating my own preferences. I think it is equally tone deaf and disrespectful to define army building by describing it as “greed”. The market is what the market is, and if you have a problem with it, that problem is rooted in the basics of commerce. There’s no such thing as a “fair share” in this instance. It’s pay to play.
  13. I don't feel the need to collect large armies. +/-30 of any faction is about the sweet spot for me. But I get it, and large armies a fun to see. For my sanity, space and wallet, I'm glad I'm not compelled to build them, lol.
  14. It seems clear at this point that those aren't Chima legs, but it does seem that they're close enough that some Chima parts could be used to customize an army of these guys.
  15. Hopefully the Lion knight minifigure parts and accessories will be available.
  16. I've had good luck with #legoleaks2022 The regular legoleaks hashtag is full of kids posting anime, Fortnight memes and their MOCs and stuff, but the year-specific hashtag seems to avoid that clutter.
  17. Lego leaks is the only reason I got Instagram. It was worth it.
  18. Awesome! I think it looks great. Thanks for the heads up!
  19. I’m in almost exactly the same boat, with the one notable exception being that I loved everything about Kingdoms. It may have been plain when compared to Fantasy Era, but Fantasy Era also had a lot of oddball things to it that I didn’t love. So kind of flip-flopped to your perspective, I only got 2 FE sets (MMV and the drawbridge set with the gold knight). If I had a time machine, I’d pick up the Troll Warship too. I can’t explain the drought. Likely a mix of licensed properties that step on Castle’s toes (Harry Potter) and some arcane research that tells TLG that kids aren’t interested in non-licensed castle. I don’t know what data they have to support that, but my guess is that 2013 castle underperformed and they blame a shift in the market instead of the shortcomings of that theme.
  20. Anything you can do to bring this series back to life would be appreciated. I remember when you were posting these, and they remain some of my favorite MOCs ever. You have a real gift for fresh designs that adhere to realistic set limitations. I would love to see these again.
  21. Oh wow! That’s exciting. I think anything is possible, and while I understand the notion that D&D is more character based, there are plenty of iconic locations that can be referenced. Just one of many lists I found when I went Googling: https://www.cbr.com/coolest-locations-published-dnd-adventures/ What I think may be more likely would be generic dungeons that look/feel like Mines of Moria from LotR.
