This looks nice. I especially like the palm tree segments as posts.

Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes
SirBlake replied to SirBlake's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I just can't wait to see how all of these new molds effect the next castle theme. New kings crown New wizard hat New princess hat New shield And lest we forget, the new sword first appeared in the highlander CMF. All of this applied to a new theme with decent heraldry (please no more lions vs. dragons) would be great. -
The latest CMF images are up: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99525&st=575 Much like the new wizard hat mold from the last series, this new batch has some far-reaching possibilities for new molds in castle and other historic themes. Perhaps we're finally done with the old kings crown mold (good riddance), and the Egyptian warrior appears to have a new elongated shield mold that would adapt nicely to a new castle theme. What do you think? Personaly, it makes me hopeful for future castle themes.

Hmmm, that doesn't paint a very clear picture. Lol -

Highlights for me are the king, wizard (I'll end up putting hair on him I guess), and the goblin is great. Probably have to get multiples of him. -

Can anyone translate? Looks to be some type of mystery figure. -

Fantastic! Is that a new shield mold for the Egyptian warrior? Flip that upside down and we have a new castle shield! -
That is seriously cool. What a wonderful reply from Lego.

Done! Thanks for posting that.

It's a tough question. Many of them are great. I have almost all 80's-mid 90's sets assembled and displayed and they're all fun to look at and play with for different reasons. I have to pick 6080, because it was my first, and because it's so versatile with the other modular sets of the time as mentioned above. Kings mountain fortress was also a big favorite when I was a kid and I feel it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

That's Dain's helmet from the Hobbit. -
Man, that takes me back. Great score! I can't imagine there are that many left MISB.

The cat is out of the bag on more than half of these figs, I wish they'd go ahead and throw official pics at us already. Last series was great and this one is looking promising too. Let's get to it. -
It's exciting to see Minas Tirith reach its goal. As far as treebeard goes, while I'm not personally clamoring for an official set, I can say that to my eyes, the Orthanc ent looks nothing like him (aside from being a tree shepherd).

This is great news. Hot dog suit is hilarious, but that goblin piece is fantastic. The continued execution ov the Boudon designs is a wonderful thing and I can't wait to see the rest of the fig. I've said it before, but we really need those Boudon elves too. -
Man, I missed this one last week, but it's just wonderful. I like and build cars too, but I've found it difficult to get the lines right for muscle cars. That clearly wasn't a problem here. Nice work!

Genius! I'm going to go do that to my hot rods right now! I was inspired to use that piece on a hot rod as well...

I'm really happy with what we've seen so far. The King is great, and a decent crown has been needed for years. Very exciting. I'm still looking for an evil sorceress and some more variety in elves, but I can't complain about this series. -
You did a great job capturing so much detail at this scale. Very nice! Love the charger too.

I got the battle of five armies this weekend, and it's cool but dang, that dumb ballista takes too many bricks. The structure is just too small for the price.
-
I disagree. The mere presence of Gondor/Gondor soldiers would make up for it. AFOLS would be happy for the most part and the casual kid or parent honestly wouldn't remember/care.

Are you saying that no Targets carry the Smaug set?
-
Great idea and great execution. It's a nice touch that Legolas is walking on top of the snow.

Awesome! Oh how I wish I could buy multiples of that set. It's really perfect. Nice work!
