Fantasy sounds fine with me, but not if it means we get some Ninjago/Chima treatment. The more I think about that possibility, the more concerned I am that they'll be pushing stupid tanks and helicopters on us. That would be a nightmare.
-
Well, that's not much info to work with, but I'll take it!
-
Fun project. It would be wonderful if the Elder Scrolls were to become a licensed theme. I consider that highly unlikely, but TLG would get even more of my money if that were the case.
-
I won't ask you to reveal your source, but can you confirm that there is a reliable source behind this? Something more substantial than a store manager?
-
Of course they are, but for the purpose of discussion, it's a spectrum. Very cartoony on one end, very detailed on the other. Make sense?
-
For my part, Moria Orc is a great example of darn near perfect, CMF Goblin is too cartoony and FE Orcs are a nice middle ground.
-
That would make sense, though I'd prefer a new separate over the neck post piece that resembles folded wings on its back.
-
Really nice. This is a great size for this scene.

Ok, that looks really cool. I can't wait to see what the fig looks like.

That is even more interesting since the best civilian sets we've gotten (MMV/MVR) have come since that interview.

6086-X Return to the Black Knight's Castle
SirBlake replied to Dubbadgrim's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Love it! Great balance between classic and custom. -
If it's like pirates, it'll be more "pure" and more rehashes. Fingers crossed for something in between.

Very cool. I can't imagine the engineering that went into making this thing support itself. Scale is great, design is great. Thanks for sharing!

It may just be people voicing their concerns. I must admit, I have a nagging feeling that TLG will decide to Ninjago-ify castle and it scares me. If only because it would have a huge negative impact on the AFOL side of the hobby. If it were to go that way, I'd probably re-enter the dark ages to a degree and focus on building my own stuff simply because the discussion surrounding something like that would be too painful to endure.
-
Really fine work here! Some great SNOT stuff going on and I too love the pin-roof. The interiors are great and you have something special with the scale you're working in. If any of these were giant builds, I think the care and detail you've applied would get lost.

MOC: Cinderella Castle (50,000 bricks)
SirBlake replied to LegoCinderellaCastle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In the words of the great thespian, Keanu Reeves: "Whoah" -
I would be all over that.
-
That could be. That said, you would think they would be conscious of the likelyhood that the theme would be retired, much like they seemed to be for that exhibit with the purple/tower.
-
I don't think it means anything relative to the next theme, but I do think it's interesting that this brand new Lego Hotel in Florida opted to use Kingdoms figs and heraldry and an FE troll: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/05/19/new-legoland-hotel_n_7318582.html

I've been to that exhibit, and I thought similarly (I like the tower), but I think that's exactly why they they did develop a separate design: so it wouldn't look dated and feel "special".

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
SirBlake replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, that'd be perfect for me too. Probably, regardless of culture or era, that would be the series I'd buy the most from so far. -
Sounds good to me.
-
That's ridiculous. Love it! Some cool parts usage decisions there.

Well, you've got at least a year off to save up. Most of us want some new good stuff, not an involuntary savings plan.
