  1. That's not nearly the commodity that new, good parts and prints would be.
  2. Ok, do you have any evidence to the contrary?
  3. You could still make walls removable without hinges. Just sayin.
  4. Holy cow! That was awesome before I scrolled down and saw the interior. Inspired work sir.
  5. Not by my definition either, but history shows that if its a big TV-based theme, that's what we'll get. Sir Goober's orange Dino-tank vs. Sir Scabola's purple power-mech-helicopter. No way that works out for us on this forum if that's the route TLG takes with castle.
  6. How about building a hinged castle? Best of both worlds.
  7. That's fantastic! Very lifelike.
  8. Good job! It's great that the mods are so subtle to take it to a really nice set. Now do the tree house! :-)
  9. Sort of, but where's the blacksmith or armory that plugs in so you can expand? The hinged wall with small tower that comes with a siege weapon that allows you to change the shape? Expanding my old castle sets is/was one of the best parts... I don't think anyone is expecting anything other than panel castles, and the original castles (panel construction) were also the original modular builds. (see above) That seems highly unlikely.
  10. What's there to really talk about there though? It's a reasonable assumption that they'll use the new shield mold, which is great, but the real news would be what heraldry is printed on it? A lot of us are thinking in this direction. I'm presently working on some MOCs in the lego set style (using more panels than I would prefer) with an eye toward build, play features and brick count that are done with this in mind. Hopefully be posting on that soon. The highlander long sword started in the CMF and that's made it's way into Middle Earth and 2013 Castle, so I don't see why the new bigger shield wouldn't. As far as completely replacing the original shield design, I can see that going either way. The highlander sword didn't replace the short sword, but on the other hand, we already have the kite/teardrop shield for mounted knights. I would think if a theme is going to use more than one shield design, it's going to be the kite and one infantry type shield. In this case, likely the egyptian mold.
  11. This is beautiful!
  12. WOW! This would quite possibly be the coolest thing to ever happen to Lego Castle! I can instantly see how this could look, and the thought of an undead army composed of various past factions sounds amazing!
  13. Cool, let's do that!
  14. Well that's encouraging. Think we'll get details this summer or have to wait until 2016 toy fair?
  15. A berserker is just a regular Viking on mushrooms, so I'm not sure how different they would look. :-)
  16. Hahah true, but it would fit the character.
  17. This is great! Does radar use dwarf/kid legs?
  18. I have this one on display and it is fantastic. One of the better examples of how modular castles can and should work. It looks amazing when connected to black monarchs castle.
  19. I have zero problems with that idea. I don't love the skellies from a minifigure perspective, but some kind of zombie/drauger kind of thing would be cool.
  20. BrickJagger, you seem like a cool guy and please believe me when I say that this is not a personal attack. The other responses here are right: you are coming off as defensive and treating what everyone agrees is rumor as fact. I want this rumor to be true, but you have to expect and accept skepticism until something more concrete validates the rumor. Just some friendly advice.
  21. If they didn't what? Come from the same faction? No. They come in the same sets and carry the same shields. Crossed axes are just another torso design for the same theme wearing lions. Seems pretty simple.
  22. That's pretty awesome! Cool decisions on the Sauron and Ithe tower build looks good without being unrealistically large.
  23. Same faction.
  24. After thinking on this one for a bit, I have to both agree and disagree. Kingdoms is just so strong in design that it surely deserves credit for one of the best series ever. The only way that it falls behind the 80's sets is in scope and variation. Simply put, the old stuff had more time to have more variety. Castle-expanding sets that pegged/hinged perfectly into the modular castles and variety in factions such that we got cool camouflaged tree forts and such with the forestmen. If Kingdoms got a couple more years to explore its potential, I think there'd be a case for it being the hands-down best ever. Either way, it was enough to pull me out of my dark ages, so it'll always have a special place in my heart.
  25. We can fuss with the details forever, but this is a cool resource and discussion. Thanks for putting this together.
