I run 9v so no flexi for me. but track bends are always a boring part of a layout and this gives it a nice look. should have the parts in a few week and will put up some picks of the end product.

Hello All. I have been really keen to put this bridge into my layout. Due to me not wanting to go pass ground level now i have to put an incline into the lay out. From the moc of the bridge i can get away with only rasing it 2 bricks high just enough so it looks rased. i also wanted to use as little space posible to create the incline, so on a bend was the best idea. from gound level each bit of track goes up by 1 3rd of a brick or a plate to get to 2 bricks. the incline should not put to much extra stress on most of my locos apart from maybe my horizon express. I have orderd all the parts for the bend and this will be the first thing i work on. Here are my LDD mocs, note i cant incline the track as LDD wont let me so the track show is there to give you an idea.

You kept it electric? In this pic yes but since been taken off not due to wanting to be none electric so much more as my son keeps taking it off. So i was like now its a Diesel 1x3 black tile goes in its place.

Yellow train will be cheaper than the EN. i like the red train also. i am making up three 10170 TTX Intermodal Double-Stack Car in red and changed a few parts due to cost for my red train to pull. And this is my setup for my Yellow train http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=75880 I just have two more of the ballast wagons to finish and then my yellow train has a full rake of wagons.

Need an idea: I don't want to be eco-friendly

This one is easy, just take the bit off the top and replace with a 1x3 black tile. Did that with mine this loco looks more diesel that electric from my view looks very much like a uk diesel. -
I expect this to be around $200 NZ no PF in there and does not look like a huge brick count there. Loco looks very basic, looks very close to the toy story one.

I put my track with ballast on 32x32 base plates that all unclip and can be packed in boxes. i Fit into the 2nd option also but when i pull my set out i want it to look nice. I have some LDD plans for Ballast and cost is not to bad its not over detailed like a lot around the show. I have designed them to be as cheap as possible with the best look. I am due to take some pics soon so i will update my old ballast thread with picks.

Good luck on the ballast, i am doing that to mine at present. It takes a lot and i mean a lot of bricks but does look very nice when done. I am spending a good 3-400nz a month on bricks at present and its still a slow progress.

I have a digitrax think Z control, its a command station and can power track. Cost about $150us, it cant have walk around controllers and is not capable of controlling anything like lights or point motors no DC output just track power. you would need a booster also for this amount of track and they are about the same cost but one would do the job. Also if you go DCC you could just buy a digitrax command station and a digitrax PR3 and you can control your layout from your PC what would be good for a large layout and lots of trains. The digitrax system is very good and adaptable and easy to add on things like stationary decoders due to there loco net setup.

I know this is a bit off topic but how do i import lfx or jpgs into POV-Ray to render. Or is there another program to best do this.
-
I love the rendering of the model, i think i need to try out POV-Ray. Very nice train. Would in work in any other colors.

I think once its with the set you wont really notice the wall. And from the looks of the detail he not going for a real world look so it dont need to look like it can hold all that hill back and a big train. I like the idea of having the 2nd level i would like to do something like that with mine but my trains are to long and will have issue pulling stuff up inclines. the key thing i did like was the little church up the top and like the way you did the hill. I was wanting to ask or see how you constructed the hill. And dam you have a lot of green bricks :-)

Could look at going DCC, i know you will need to put chips in motors but you can by layout boosters that will solve this issue.
-
nice i would really like an lxf of that :-) would look good with my MOW train.

Heads up just start pricing it, it going to cost quite a bit to make i can get 900 parts from one of my normal guys and already upto 100nz see this costing maybe 200nz So i think i am out would be nice but could put that cash else where into more tack and ballast

Looks like the 15 came out in Railfreight one of my fave paint jobs. Put though a few changes still trying to work out how to change one of the bogies to a 9v motor but i dont think it will go in without killing those really nice boggies. Might need to put the motor in a wagon to push it along.

I would like the LXF if you can email me. Be keen to build it. Even if you just send the parts list and HTML manual.

Beware: eBay fraud -- Train MOC instructions

Wow ok well i think i am not going to upload my designs any more and water mark my stuff. I want to show everyone my stuff but i dont want people to take them and make money if i dont get some in return. I put alot of time into my designs, yes i have used some of your guys designs and built them but i have not sold them. As i know it takes alot of time to make something from nothing even if it is just a digital design. -
Wow that does look good in BR green i might need to make .

looks nice.

haha just noticed i am a stud out on the yellow grils on the platform :-)

Parts orderd Now the waiting game starts again :-) Came out to about $80NZ with two 9v track. Not bad only rare things where the roof bits but even then i only needed four to not to much of a bank killer.
