Getting better. I think you need like a little maintance hut attached to the side for the work crew.
-
Yes i will get there at some point :-) always so many projects half way though always waiting on post. Its based off a UK fueling depot
-
Hello All I have just bought the new Octan truck that lego just brough out and i wanted to compliment it into my layout. I have more a train focused layout than cars and people so it all needs to link back to rail. Here is my moc for a refueling depot.

I already have the extra jacob in the middle now but saying that i do have a dummy 9v on the rear that will add drag and still 1 technic boggie that i could swap for normal wheels. Will drop the technic boggie and see what that does if that does not help put a 9v motor of both ends. Note to all: I have a 9v motor with the internal motor removed on the rear to power my rear lights. This might be also adding a bit to much drag. might need to see if i can lube it up a bit more and try and get it to free wheel better.

sweet i will switch them around and see what happens thanks.

Looks like my HE running on two 9v motors over heat after about 10 mins on a layout that has alot of bends. Any one with experiance with long 9v trains know how best to run the motors. I have two motors on the front loco pulling the rest, is this the best way or should i have one on the front one on the rear. Or do i need to up it to 4 motors.

haha has the cost of my double shed make you think of new ideas. It was costly and time consuming to get all the parts but outcome is nice. From your past work i think you could improve on this. Good basis i think. I think the roof needs work Keep at it good start. Dont take this the wrong way coz you know i like your work.

LDD MOC: Great Western Railway passenger train
Lazarus replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The EN is more of a Lner Loco look. ment to look more like a A class loco. -
correct ya old dark on the shed and new dark on the tower. Had to do this as i already had the standerd lego shed in old dark so had to follow it though.
-
I like it, i know its not how sheds should be and it would be flat. I like it this way :-) Also i have so much other work to get onto i may come back and do somthing but at about $850nz into this model so far not keep to put much more into it.

Update guys Wagon is made still waiting on more parts to make two more but here is the final item More of my MOW train
-
Hello All. After a few month build time mainly due to parts from all over the place and money thrown at it from all directions i give you my very expencive double Shed with switching tower.
-
you need to get the PF extenshion cable and then the 8870 pf lights. the extenshion clips onto the top of the 9v and then put the other end onto the pf lights. will cost about $40us for the bits.
-
Mine runs well with two 9vs at the front end and a dummy 9v at the other for light power. Even with two it still slows a bit in the bends but at speed this train derails easy on the standerd bends. So i am the same i keep the speed mid. But it can go really fast on the streght aways.

I would say a bit costly for that size loco might want to look at swaping some of the costly parts to something cheaper. does that include some of those Pantographs or just loco.

I like the Moc looks really nice and the Pantographs look sweet also. And thanks for the LDD manager link there Murdoch17 that will make my life easyer as some codes in LDD dont match Bricklink i waste a bit of time hunting for some parts.

My Horizon http://www.facebook....&type=2 Just need to get my lights they are on order and on the way.
-
only thing i say would be needs hand rails and looks a little to steap for the steps. But loving the platforms keen to put the idea in my bin of stuff to add to layout.
-
I like those masts good idea might need to take that one. :-P

I think i have it easy i am going 9v. So two motors in the main train. 9v to pf cable running off a motor to the pf lights. Rear loco will have a dummy 9v motor (no motor inside just used for the pick ups) running to another set of pf lights and done. Just need to save for the pf parts as i am poor after buy the two sets of these. But it is an amazing set the most modding i am going to do is make the 4 coaches inside diffrent when i find time.

Bricklink mostly keep an eye on Trademe. My wife mum lives in the uk and hunts around car boot sales for them also. Cost nz is about $5nz per streight. i have about 40 and 100 bends.
-
I think two of them are already at a guess about 15+ streights long. I am going to go out and have to buy another 30 streights just to get a nice run going. And i am a 9v man
-
well $480nz all up. 80 for shipping. note shipping for one of them is $70nz. dont know how that works :-) also who knows what price toyworld will put it up for they are normaly a few percent more than the warehouse. Its alot of cash but once you have the sets you wont regret also one just would not look right.
-
Lego worked out to be the cheapest. Bricklink is a close 2nd. But i also got some new free lego thing proberly worth about $10. Shipping was ok about 10 days to get to me.
