Any word on Australia? I thought the Australian shop at home site was saying 18 Dec as well, but now it says "Coming Soon".

All three are great, but Hutt Sex is my favourite. Very funny dialogue and excellent posing on the minifigs.

Thanks, Man with a hat, PoweredbyNorth and brodey1. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks, Vincent. I must admit that the transition to the roof was my least favourite part of this building. (See below for why I said "was"). Thanks, castor-troy. This is no complete town yet and, unfortunately, my street, modest as it was, is now half the size. A tornado (aka 5.y.o daughter) came through yesterday and dropped the hotel on the floor. It was laying in pieces on the table when I came home from work. P.S. I just noticed I have a new tag - the girl. Anyone know what this might be for?

Thanks purpearljellyblob, toutouille and dr-spock. I'm glad you like it. Thanks LFCMessi. You never know. I um'd and ah'd about submitting my entry into the comic cover contest and ended up coming third.

The End of the World: Power Miners Great Escape
Kristel replied to dr_spock's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this is my favourite so far. The hinged pyramid is very clever. This line made me laugh out loud! A nice way to start the morning.- 5 replies

A great story and excellent presentation. Well done!
-
Nice interpretation of the topic for this building drive!
-
Fantastic layout! I love how you have combined the different themes into a seamless, connected layout. The brick-built snow covered pine trees look amazing.
-
Very clever indeed!

This is a great colour combination for the Winter Village look and feel, and the details on this building are just superb. The bow is very clever and the lime/tan tiling looks great. Well done and good luck in the contest.

These all look fantastic, but the butterfly is just amazing. Very clever parts usage!

This is a great idea, and really well executed! I can imagine hours of fun with this.

These look really good. I particularly like how you have modified the city bank. I like the twin mailboxes too.

This church is really cute, and I think it fits in well with the Winter Village series. I love the bell tower and the plants growing up the side. Well done!

The Poor Bricker's Guide: What else can I build with this?
Kristel replied to Raeik's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Rebrickable is also worth checking out. It will tell you what you can build with the sets you have, and show you what pieces you are missing. -
Thanks, soccerkid, eurotrash, wedge09, Kai NRG, lightningtiger and Legocrazy81, I really appreciate all the nice comments. Thanks, L@go. I'm really proud of the telephone bench. Thanks, paostmo. It is definitely very heavy with the double walls (so much so that I told my husband I was never going to build another 32-wide modular), but it does give you more options. Thanks, Redhead. Your dark green and grey townhouse is one of my favourites and was an inspiration to me. Glad I can give some back. Not quite a city layout, but here are my current modulars all in a row. The sand blue townhouse and my tan townhouse are very similar as I was working on both when the Modular Madness contest was announced. I was playing around with colours and details, and chose to finish the tan one for the competition. I finally got around to finishing off this sand blue one (without interior).

Thanks, everyone, I really appreciate the great comments. Here are a couple of photos showing the details for the roof. It basically sits on top of the frame. It's a snug fit, so it won't fly off, unless you try to swoosh it like a starfighter.

Thanks Hammerstein, Kai and badboytje. I've really started to like the ninjas since Ninja Month, so I was pleased I could use Cole again so soon!

Thanks, Ev-Man. There are quite a few differences, but they're not hard to spot. I like to make the buildings my own as much as possible. What I drew from the Inchcolm hotel was the entrance and the top floor detailing. Thanks, LegoDr. Unfortunately, I don't have the bricks or the space for a city layout. I had to break down the modified haunted house for the LBG bricks for this hotel - I have one 1x8 brick and a couple of handfuls of small bricks left in LGB! And I had to raid the interior of the psychiatrist's office for the tiles. I usually just have 2 - 3 building up at any one time. Currently, I have the psychiatrist office, the hotel, a sand blue townhouse (no interior yet) and my WIP for the Winter Village contest sitting on the dining room table at the moment. Between that and my daughter's Friends layout, there's not much room left on the table!

Hi guys. Here is my latest modular - the Lion's Heart Hotel. A small boutique hotel, with just three rooms, including a very spacious penthouse. This one is also inspired by a Brisbane building - the Inchcolm Hotel. It has an elevator, which is borrowed from the Town Hall (the design, not the actual elevator). In the lobby is a statue of the knight who was said to have the heart of a lion in battle. And a neat little telephone bench. The first floor has a single and a double room. And the best room in hotel, the penthouse suite. The hotel is missing a restaurant and bar, but our guests will just have to go next door. I don't think I'd be able to lift the building if I added another floor! Good excuse to add a restaurant to the list of buildings to do. There are more photos on flickr. Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Here's my entry to the End of the World contest. Cole is doing a little meditating to get into the right frame of mind to face whatever the end of the world brings. Hope you like it. A couple more photos on flickr. PS. I'm Australian, so the date is what it is. Apologies for any confusion to my friends in the US.

The train is from the Winter Village Toy Shop (10199). I thought you must have based it on this, as your little car is similar to the toy car in that set, too. If you're looking for more toys for, that set also has a cute teddybear, robot and jack-in-the-box. Olivia's invention workshop (3933) has a nice little robot too.

Congratulations to the winners. Well done!
