Hmm... I think the price is alittle too high for an IP that is only really aimed at older-timers who remember the show. I see a lot of Classic Batman stuff popping up lately, from action figure and now Lego; so I feel like the license shouldn't be that expensive. Plus, as mentioned it really doesn't pop like other sets in it's weight class. I was interested in it, but I'm gonna pass at this point due to price.

I'm ok with Phasma not doing much, I'm just not ok with her getting kidnapped without a fight. It would have been a good chance to give Chewie some melee action and make Phasma more exciting. As for bounty hunters, most Star Wars games (miniature games, RPGs, etc) refer to them as "fringe" characters willing to fight for anyone. I don't see that as a villain because they can turn at any point.

It's only really difficult this go around because of the Star Wars movie craze right now. Usually the winter wave stuff doesn't go that quick, but with the previous wave of Star Wars movie sets sold out after the holidays, everyone is scrambling. No doubt this winter wave will restock soon and once the Marvel/DC movie craze hits, Star Wars will be easier to find.

Well, if/when a movie happens, I'm hoping (and betting) Lego will make sets based on the past movies. That would be huge news for me, since I regretingly sold my old Indy Lego and would be very interested in buying new sets. Especially with all the updates in printing since 2008.

Found all the Nexo Knights releases at Barnes and Nobles. They had a whole table display dedicated to them.

Wow, if the rumors are right, it'll be such a quiet year on the Star Wars front for me. I already have an AT-TE and no need for a CTT. No need for an Advanced TIE really. And I'm honestly waiting on the TFA stuff for sales or even purchases next year when I'm hoping the sets might have a better "bang for your buck" as far as minifigures. I'm hoping what happened with the Lego movie happens with TFA - we start to get more main characters in smaller sets.

Looks fantastic and very well detailed to the source material. HL1 and HL2 are some of my favorite games of all time.

Amazing. Superb color use really makes every aspect of the scene "pop". So much crazy SNOT techniques all over it. Very well done!
-
I've never seen anything like that am not familiar with the technique. Is it stable? Very well done all the same!

Wow, that looks perfect and you can tell a huge amount of work went into assessing the proportions and size. How many bricks are involved?

I'm hoping this is just another TRU buy-in promo, so I can safely pass. I hope this isn't a Lego store buy-in promo, because it seems a bit of a waste.

Lucas has become a fallen, tragic hero. He was on top of the world when the original trilogy and the prequels came out and in both of those runs the fan base loved him. But unfortunately he has done very little other than Star Wars, so it's become his full focus. And I'm sure most of you remember that Lucas is a tinkerer. He had the idea for Star Wars crafted in '73, but re-wrote it several times until it was the version seen in '77. Then he went back and tinkered in the '90s, 2004 for the DVDs, and 2011 for the Blu-Rays. It's like he just found one thing that worked and want the fanbase to buy in to it over and over again. Granted, Disney is making Star Wars and its respective products more and more expensive for the fanbase than ever, but it's not far off from Lucas' handling. If Lucas wants to call Disney slavers, it's a lot like the pot calling the kettle black.

Really great job! Nice use of colors - the sand green in particular. The structure also looks very Dwarven. I also like the Bone Golems, they remind me of an old miniatures game called MageKnight.

Anakin, Shmi, and a Pit Droid would be great. Though I'd honestly be good with anyone from TPM Tatooine, except Jar-Jar. I honestly don't expect three full figures in a $25 set.

The FO Snowspeeder wasn't heavily featured in TFA. It's one of those, if you blinked you missed it. Supposedly, there was a scene that involved it that was later cut from the movie.

Could building custom mini figures be profitable?
HawkLord replied to Jackad7's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the custom minifigure and minifigure accessory market is drying up alittle. Before the license craze, there were people having success making custom pieces, but now we're finding that the license material is creating a wealth of bricks and accessories that are making it harder for customizers to really have success through truly unique items. The one exception would be real world weapons (mostly guns) and that's where certain companies are still doing well enough to stay in business. My primary example would be something like LOTR. Before that hit people were making custom heroes, like Gandalf and Elves. Now that those have been made in abundance officially, there's really no need for custom material. -
You really have to know the Lego game very well to make it a profitable venture. Sure, most people may think Star Wars sets will always appreciate, but we are getting close to a time where revised sets will hurt the current environment and make them less valuable. You really have to make good guesses at what themes will be viable and why. With Lego being such a customizable product, you really can almost reproduce anything out there. I used to think I wanted to buy sets to keep sealed and flip, but now I just sell pieces and parts here and there from open sets. I just don't have the time or space to want to hoard sealed sets. I see this ending up being a lot like Star Wars action figures in the 90s. People started buying them up like crazy expecting the price to rise like the vintage Star Wars stuff did and it ended up creating a flood to the point where 90s era figures are worth less than a fraction of what people paid for them.

That's the correct name. According the the TFA Visual Dictionary, he was a leader in the Church of the Force. Non-Force users who worshipped the Force to some degree. Probably explains how he knows Luke.
-
Hulk Lab or the Daily Bugle just for the minifigures. The other sets just don't have great minifigure assortment or builds.
-
Feels a lot like Echo Base from 2009. Unfortunately, since I have so much of the Hoth stuff from that time and later years, this is a pass.

Phasma got captured super easy and didn't even put up a fight. Not a good sign from a character whose supposed to be way more hardcore than that. Here's hoping she gets some action scenes in the next movies. Chewie also needs a scene where he goes alittle berserk and tosses Stormtroopers around. I was expecting it when Han died, but Chewie just went on a slight shooting spree instead.

That's basically a perfect tree. And trees are considerably hard to pull off well. Brilliant job!
-
I really like the trees and the creature use in the second one. The creatures remind me of the tabletop minis game Warhammer. The road looks good, because it's worn and well-traveled.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
HawkLord replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
None at all, so 0. I hate to be pessimistic, but this is the age of Disney Star Wars dominance. None of the Star Wars product for the next 5 years will ever be marked down or clearanced - the demand is just too high. Stores won't have to worry about moving the product. -
Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

Agreed, but just not TRU... can be too dicey to track down.
