TFA changed a lot of things with Lego. I feel like before 2015, Lego could get away with obscure character selection - Revan, ARF Trooper, etc. Now everything going forward really needs to have a purpose and/or tie into the larger objective - TFA. If anything I bet the May 4th promo to be either TFA or Rebels related. Maybe OT, but certainly not PT. We're looking at a whole new world of Lego Star Wars collecting.

Great idea! I love ren faires and this captures the look and feel very well. There's so many places to go with this idea, combining Castle and Town elements.

Yes, but you've obviously been knighted... My vote is for a modern car, maybe something electric.

Baby Groot deserves a new mold. Granted I'm sure he'll grow quickly during the movie, but baby Groot is an easy sell.

Exactly. Thrawn and Mara already have so much backstory built, the hype alone is worth it.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
HawkLord replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
1. Boba Fett (Slave 1) - from my wife, so it has special meaning. 2. Luke (Ewok Village) - just great printing. 3. Classic Boba Fett - just a great chunky old school Star Wars Lego. 4. Yoda (2013) - great update to one of the most important characters. 5. Chewbacca (new) - another good update to a classic character. The height is great. -
Really great technique on the stairs and the overall tones of grey and greens work perfectly. Here's hoping that location has more use in the upcoming movies, so you could add even more to it. Very well done!

Amazing build. One of the most lifelike Lego builds I've seen. The magpie really adds something to it. Very well done.

The colors and small details are excellent. I especially like the staircase and hidden weapons on display.

Laura Dern is cast for VIII. I'll call it now - Laura Dern with red hair = Mara Jade.

Great review and pics. As mentioned it'd be nice to find this in the wild at retail, but I'm not a completist and guess that at some point Lego might churn out something similar enough.

While not really part of the MCU, I saw Deadpool this weekend and it was really good. Admittedly, I hadn't read a lot of Deadpool, but knew enough about the character to feel like I got the overall sense of the movie. It was hilarious, with good, witty dialog and great action sequences. Plus, a few "Easter Egg" references to other Marvel movies and the former attempt at Deadpool in a movie. Ryan Reynolds did a good job staying true to the vision and sticking it out. Makes me glad I snagged the Wolverine Vs Chopper Lego set when it dropped, so that I now have a Lego Deadpool.

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
HawkLord replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
After seeing all those big name X-men characters coming out as action figures (after so long a drought without them in that format), it's encouraging to think they might be applicable to appearing in Lego sets at some point. -
I'd go 7239 for the more detailed look and boat. 60002 looks a bit boring.

I don't mind Fox having X-men because they're doing a good job with it, but I really wish Marvel would let up on the merchandise restriction. It be great to get some X-men First Class and DoFP stuff - action figures, Lego, etc. I am interested in seeing where they go after this movie, given Hugh Jackman's exit and general age/interest of the other actors.

So... What do we actually know about the Slizers?

Wow, great find. Those pics take me back, as I had a couple Throwbots. Agreed that those combined modes look horrible, but the individual bots have some character. -

I have the TFA C-3PO and it's a great figure. I'd also recommend the upcoming OT battle packs. -

With Star Wars being so expansive, you'll have to be a bit more specific with what your interests are so that people can give you a better opinion. $25 could probably get you about 400,000 battle droids or one rare main character. -
Great idea. I hope for this more than a TFA Luke.

Great set for those who have not been collecting Star Wars Lego for the past few years. It get you almost everything that has come out Hoth related, except large sets like the AT-AT. And the price is good for a licensed set; especially Star Wars. Is it for collectors? Not so much. Again most people posting here (myself included) have everything that's in it, so this is more for new fans of Star Wars or Lego and with it being predominantly a limited shade of colors, it's easy for Lego to produce. Overall, a good move for them.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Given how great of a minifigure it is and the usual difficulty in getting GameStop exclusives, at least of this caliber, means I doubt it'll drop. If it does it won't be by much and it'll be well after the CW movie when Marvel hype will be super high. -
You're not the only one. I think I'll just be picking up battle packs for Star Wars and only maybe the CTT is it really impresses me in person. Otherwise the cost and general lackluster of the sets are keeping me away. Just leaves more money for Marvel and catching up on stuff from last year. I am betting that once prices come down, hopefully by the next movie, I'll be more interested in acquiring TFA characters.

Warhammer Orc standard/banner holding a Dwarf Slayer head and maybe a High Elf head?
-
I don't want to belabor the set cost issue, but I wonder if Lego is planning that these Star Wars sets won't stay on the shelves as long and as such Lego has to make their money back on new molds quicker than usual. With Star Wars dropping new movies every year, the days of sets lasting long on shelves is over. That and the usual Star Wars license might be why Takodana and Jakku might be more expensive than we're used. This makes me believe that to some degree these new molds or minifigures may be slightly limited compared to other sets.

The thing about Star Wars is that it's so big at this point, that you can make up your own canon. Movies, books, comics, shows, toys, video games have all made up some part of Star Wars lore that you can draw from for your own personal enjoyment of the IP. If you want to limit yourself, that's great, but there's so many options out there. For awhile now, Star Wars has been one of the only "pick and choose" type IPs.
