I actually find Corrington to be rather interesting, but I joined Oleon since I thought most people would join Corrington .

I don't really visit the Town forum that often, but this is another MOC I really like. The building is really nice and it's not often that you see a Police station in a snowy environment, meant to be included in a Winter Village . The way the station is built, plus the snow and the police office with the wooly hat give me some serious Fargo (the series) vibe . I can instantly imagine the characters in your MOC speaking with the accents and voices from the show. "That christmas tree you got is nice." "Ja, ya betcha."

Eric sighed and raised an eyebrow at Peri. The Nord clicked his tongue and then simply knocked on the heavy doors. In a mocking sheepish voice, he said: "Hello, my name is Eric and I'm here to kill you all. Could you please open up, because otherwise there's a Sister of Danab who'll get really angry with me if I don't get in." A satisfying grin once more came to Eric's face. "There, I did something."

Thanks for the comments! I know there isn't a lot to comment on, so I appreciate it . Yeah, I tried it with white studs and then I did the light grey studs and didn't really know what color to choose in the end . In hindsight, you're probably right and white studs would've been the better choice.

Wow, it looks fantastic! Instantly recognizable! . Is that kunai a custom? The top looks like an official part, but I don't recognize the bottom triangular part. The only "complaint" I can think of is that his feet look rather tiny, but I have no idea at the moment how you could possibly improve on them. Will we see more anime characters? Like, say, Spike Spiegel?

Eric nodded in agreement with the loot distribution. Following Sarge's lead he charged at the Venomari, Conspirator still in hand. Using the newly acquired Smelling Salts and another of his Meads, he was ready for another battle.

I believe so. The clothes look like they're a recolored Aragorn torso.

Gee Golly Dandy, A small trade boat
Khorne replied to Mr. Townsend's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ooh, wow, very nice boat! I really like the brick-built hull, well-done . The self-made sails also look top-notch and the ropes add a touch of realism to the entire creation. That intro picture is also quite cool, with the ship being Photoshopped in the painting. -

I thought the price list was from the Medieval Market Village, but I can't see it in the inventory (there's another pricelist included there), so he probably got it from another set . The Musketholder rack is made from black minifig hands put on a long black pole from what I can tell. -
Henri begins most of his days by surveying and visiting his domains and the homesteads he owns. The commoners appreciate their lord coming down from his castle and visit them, which creates a bond of loyalty and sense of community amongst the peasants and the beloved La Valette, de la Rocheforte family. Religious as Oleon is, the countryside and roads are littered with small wayshrines invoking the praise of one, or more, Saints and Deities, watching over travellers and protecting the land. Here, Henri Antoine pays his respect to a wayshrine of Zeus to invoke his blessings and guide him during his coming endeavors. This wayshrine was only recently build, commissioned by the La Valette family themselves. It's a very small MOC to sort of introduce my character. It's not really his natural habitat, but it is an important aspect of his (family's) life. The pictures are kind of crappy, though . I really need to get me some of those decent white lightbulbs. The ones I have always give off this yellow-ish lighting instead of white...

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
Khorne replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good explanation, it's like I saw it as well . E.g: My character Henri Antoine La Valette, de la Rocheforte is from an ancient aristocratic family who owns a castle and a big swathe of land in northern Oleon. The primary generator of wealth for this family is tax revenue and income from their farmlands and wood cut from their forests. However, with the discovery of new lands in the east, they want to expand: gain more land in the New World, but also add a new stream of income to their revenue: trading. Also, the La Valette, de la Rocheforte family has a strong military tradition like most Oleander aristocratic families, so my character too has a military background and combat experience. So, in the end, I have a trader character who also complies with the general culture of Oleon . -
I think that's one of those old alien heads from in the 90s (??). This one here, just colored blue instead of green:

Sandy's response is how I imagined things to be. In Heroica time, Salmanda takes place over three or so days during Summer, so Eric and the others have made it back already to Eubric. I just didn't feel like writing a letter from Salmanda to announce Eric's bid for King, because that's just not his style. A letter doesn't have enough flair . Like Lind said, you're free to reference Eric's bid in the Sungold thread and the Hall thread. It's only the people who are on #130 who can't reference it, 'cause they're all still in Salmanda and the announcement has yet to come .

Wow ! You must have a gigantic collection if you can build this Eslandola layout AND keep Thorshaven intact and expanding. It will be really cool to see both projects evolving, I'm sure .

I don't think you should take that too literal. No decent (modern) nation can thrive without traders. I read that as the Oleanders' priority is war, then trade. Besides, in other parts of the introduction Oleon is said to be hiring traders and there is talk of trade, so I'm sure a trader is a viable character option. My character is more interested in trade, too, because I don't have the parts I need to build gigantic warships . -
It looks great already. The vibrant, flashy colors are perfect for these Caribbean style buildings.

Great fortress, it really has that Spanish Eslandola vibe with the white plastered walls and red bricks showing underneath. From the looks of that first picture you posted the courtyard looks interesting. Can't wait to see more . When you say "more modules will come later", do you mean this will become something like Thorshaven? Will you be making an entire fort with a village and stuff or a fortress with room for a ship to dock?

Neat intro MOC! The most interesting aspect for me is how you made the blue bottle on the left in the first picture. Really neat on using the blue head upside down and putting that gem in the "neck" . -

I can say already that I probably won't be the most active of members, but I do want to give this a try . Henri Antoine La Valette, de la Rocheforte Henri de la Rocheforte comes from an old and powerful aristocratic family who rule the la Rocheforte region. Being an old family, they own a lot of land and their income is largely generated by farming and taxes paid to the family. Proud and pious Oleonders all, the family has an impressive military history, serving King, Gods and Country on numerous occasions. Despite carrying a deep grudge against Corrington, Henri focuses his efforts on trading and gathering wealth instead of combat. However, if push comes to shove, Henri will stand his ground and fight. Like many nobles in Oleon, Henri too was schooled in war at the finest universities. The young Baron of la Rocheforte. In the background the crest of the family can be seen. -
Eric pocketed his winnings and grinned. It had been a long time since he got to steal this much gold in a fight. Eyeing the loot, Eric remarked: "I wouldn't mind owning that helmet. Maybe the Smelling Salts as well. Else, I'll just take the Mead, Salts and Gold." "By the way," the Nord reached out another pouch of gold coins to Sarge, "here, for safekeeping purposes." Eric gives his gold to Sarge. Sarge now has 1194 Gold belonging to Eric.

I don't really see much of a resemblance between Eric and Geralt, but I definitely saw some resemblance character-wise betwen him and Uhtred from The Last Kingdom. Both are thick-headed and arrogant, but Eric is more malicious and backstabbing. I saw the first five episodes, I think. Good show . I like it more than I did Vikings, even though that was an okay show as well. The Last Kingdom's characters are way more interesting. I just loved Skorpa. That devious, backstabbing pirate-y Viking . Britta is also a favorite of mine. Also, a lot of characters will probably show similarities to Eric, especially characters from Viking stories or (Early) Medieval stuff. Eric is an amalgam of many such characters I've been exposed to .
