  1. My concern for LEGO is their advertising attitude toward minidolls or girls-oriented themes, as mentioned before. We can see that TLM has received much attention from AFOLs so LEGO even make Comic-Con Exclusives despite it was majorly a film for kids. Needless to say Ninjago and Chima also become more popular than they were at first. However we don't see Friends have that equal advertising like TLM and it's now still mostly regarded as a material for the limited group of consumers. Since Elves is another chance and it's also closer to the special/historical/action themes, I really hope to see this theme having the "magic" to attract common fans with a better advertising and a potential TV show.
  2. I'm not surprised to see lots of Police things. I do like the Swamp idea, but I hope to see some of swamp sets NOT doing with the Police. I think a swamp set might be what the Friends Jungle sets lack this year. Just saying, I'm surprised that Emmet and Gail's helmets with hair are not making reuses in new construction sets. But the dozer driver from 60076 seems to have hair in helemt.
  3. That scene should be from the world of Elves rather than something like Olivia's Treehouse. Not sure if there are other main human characters beside Emily, the box art doesn't look like that. I'm sure there are some filler characters. My personal take on the original theme is how do they differentiate from other licenses or competitors who also use the same materials? In the previous LEGO media story advertising, nothing to talk about Mixels and TLM, Ninjago was a pretty typical ninja sentai that also drive robots and vehicles. However there are no other currently popular licenses based on ninjas, so LEGO just chose the right timing to begin their TV show. Chima, on the other hand, has a very enclosed world and backstory so it's sure identifiable, As for Elves, no story element particularly noticeable (or understandable) so far. A girl coming from another world is a super well-worn story that Peter Pan also used before. Peter Pan franchise has both pros and cons. Its pro is that there are also Indian and Pirates elements that could interest historical and pirate FOLs. The con is that the elves(fairies) aren't in the same size with human, so we may not see TinkleBell as a normal figure along with other Disney stars. However, since there is still a new film next year, I assume TinkleBell isn't discontinued yet. Wish that there could be some LEGO sets suppose that it doesn't conflict with Elves. Well, at least the Elves sets do show differences from COBI Winx. COBI Winx heroines are mostly doing the same thing what Friends do in their modern city, while the Elves world look purely fantasywise and historical. Despite of the conflicting problem of LEGO System figures, I'm sure LEGO Elves minidolls look much better than the COBI Winx figures without their wings. And BTW, I'm not very sure about the new colors of the animals which are exactly the same species from our normal world. Wish that there could be some pegasus, centaur or phoniex.in future sets
  4. Takes on animal polybag series 6. The Real The Better Wrong Lioness
  5. In other references he has mentioned that these are not all for CMFs. He also planned a Fairtytale series for common folks like the Monset Fighters he initiated. I'm not sure if The Big Bag Wolf could work, due to the fact there have been many other werewolf and wolf-like characters in LEGO lines, so at most there could just be a recolor of the previous wolf characters but not a new mold. Another problem is that, according to the folk, TBBW should be a real talking wolf, not a minifigure. Unless we're asking him to cosplay Grandma....... It's mostly suspected that the codes of MMO game need to be patched after some time of development, so it's postponed. Although I think there should be another series to fill that vacancy. Even though the "mini"figure version of the monsters are super cute, it's truly a pity not making a unified mold. Mongus is the obvious answer from LEGO.
  6. Abit dissapointing that the new wave wouldn't use a new color representing other ninjas besides Kai, Zane or Lloyd. But since the box arts are still under working, maybe it could change at last. So it feels like the people who also understand elemental powers are elves some jungle outlaws. Nice to see another set for Samurai Nya but bored to see Garmadon without Misako once again. I think Zane would be back at last, and that doesn't say he can't change back from Titanium Ninja to white?
  7. To me the Elves sets are really great works. There are indeed some major features that historical themes and the previous two minidoll themes have been lacking, and these are not similiar with Belville at all. But just like the previous Disney theme, this wave mostly provide medium sets and there are no large sets. Hopefully we'll able to see a set named Elve's Castle. The minidoll variations are also pretty welldone, I believe these tons of new hairpieces would fit in some MOC lover's needs. FOLs can just collect all sets to have them. I always think the Sleepyhead works on minidolls, now here is it. And it's good to see a supposedly girls-oriented minidoll themes begin to use main male characters. But still, the general critics need to depend on the backstory. There is a major concern why LEGO just don't use Tinklebell as their license choice, so hopeully the backstory would be appealing enough. I'm not sure who Emily is. It looks like she is the second character from the official portrait and she uses Joanna's hairpiece in orange in the largest set. Why? Just tell the others you're a proud FOL.
  8. It's nice to see Friends finally bring more existed minifigure hairpieces for minidolls to make them appealing. Wyldstyle's hairpice is very useful for younger girls. However I'm not sure to see Kai's hairpiece in the exactly same color for another boy. It should be a new color just like the blonde Wyldstyle. Oh, and can someone identify the red hairpiece from the Hair Salon? Speaking of younger girls, Emma (in Stephanie's hairstyle???) 's family is very dissapointing. It's just another nuclear family instead of giving us some siblings or elders variations. Her house is also equally boring since it's just Olivia's copycat (oh, or maybe Emma helped Olivia at first so Olivia's house was made to be like Emma's). The lighthouse and the ballon are deinitely the stars of the wave. Mia's car is good. The clinic is.... uh...... hey! Unlicensed medical service is illegal!!!!! I think TLG is very decisive on their naming systme. They just made a mistake this year by giving Mathew another name in the Jungle set.
  9. In the original Universe era, I think it could actually be interesting if we may also use the actual minifigures of that time, and we could use any character from any theme to team up a trio. Now the MMO only utilize the popularity of CMF series so we may not make a team like Emmet+Evo+Eris. Maybe the success of the online game itself would allow us to use other non-CMF characters in the future.
  10. Much similiar to my earlier guess, LEGO wouldn't introduce King Triton or Ursula that easily. Looks like we're getting Alana rather than Melody juding from that tail color. Wish to see more subcharacacters for this line in the future. Elsa's Castle is very welldone as a medium Castle set. And looks like both sisters would get their own exclusive hairpieces (sure, TLG can do that just like the Lake Town people.) It's nice to see both sets coming with new mascots, but Sven would still be the most-wanted mascot to most FOLs. :p Not very sure. These pics are still leaks so there could be some changes like the previous leaks. Yes, this does dissapoint some Friends fans who want to make a crossover play between two minidoll themes. The other problem is that the Disney minidolls would eventually unidentifiable if every princess look the same. However, the princes all used original faces so I think there is a chance for future female characters to use new prints. It looks like Alana also uses an old print.Jasmine happens to have brown amber eyes and tanned skin so she might just reuse the face from Joanna (oh, only if we're not talking about minidolls
  11. I would like to see more special series in the future. However, just letting them occupy the production line of regular series would create some other problems. I think it's either that LEGO add more lines, or they should reduce the cycle time to allow more annual figures. Not being critical, I think each series is also restricted by some production rules so there are still some less popular remake characters. There are new great ideas, but making FOLs long wait wouldn't also make these series much better.
  12. We know LEGO isn't the first company to do blind bags and collecitble toys. If other companies also have done a good job, I wouldn't expect LEGO to seize these licenses.COBI Scooby Doo and Winx are pretty nice to me. And even though the figres from two lines don't have the same shape of body, they still look similiar and are good as brick figures. As for the current Megabloks Spongebob, to me the problem is that their figres don't look like brick toys but are just some collectible figures. If there are still hopes for LEGO Scooby Doo, I might think it's safe to make a stereotypical heroes-vs-monsters theme because we had the example of Indiana Jones and Johnny Thunder. The hunters also look like Ghostbusters parody. Like many other secondary and one-wave action themes, Monster Fighters was still heaviiy restricted by the limit of introducing new parts so there won't be lots of new monsters and quirky visitors. The Swamp Creature was the only original character in this theme.
  13. Just great! Let's hope that Misako and characters from other shows would also come.
  14. Okay, I know my English never works . If you don't mind, thanx for coming up with a new dialogue.
  15. I can't exactly remember which they could be, but judging to my memory most of the background veterans from TLM are pretty generic and mostly overshadowed by the physical CMFs (sorry if this sounds offensive). And judging from that timeline, I don't think the movie already indicated some of the future CMFs after Simpsons. I haven't touched the game and hopefully I will. I wish this could indicate that TLG would also introduce these game characters physically by the same way.
  16. It's another issue. The main problem of main characters is that they occupy the places that could have allowed more characters which collectors might expect more. Unless that variation is really usefull and creative and also has the CMF quality. In TLM's case I personally don't think Business and Bad Cop deserve to be there. As for the main heroes of original SW trilogies, as said obviously LEGO intends to make their variations exclusive to every regualr set. If LEGO agree to do CMF SW, they might have to choose other less famous characters from the background or EU.
  17. Just got the Friends book. It mentions Andrea's residence, but not sure if that would be a real set since it's abit like an appartment.
  18. It's offtopic. I like the Toy Soldier, but the challenge could be how to come up with a minifigure that can relate to the "diictionary". Maybe a professor using Grandpa head with a robe? I don't know. I agree with Lyichir that most dictionary exclusive figs aren't really vaulable in parts, so it's challenging for the designers.Again, as said, I think a historical theme has better chances and reasons to introduce a centaur. I didn't see that MMO would introduce original characters just like the previous online game Universe did, despite the regular (physical) CMFs are the real stars in this game. With that said, I'm unwilling to see the same thing repeated that those popular game characters wouldn't become real minifigures in the end. The other delimma is that, suppose that they're physically made, would they also become playable in this game and confuse other players who can't tell the difference between NPCs and other players?
  19. I have no thought against SW, but generally we've seen most key characters in the trilogies. I agree there are tons of unused designs from the SW films which all worth becoming minifigures, but I also feel like other licenses lack key characters more obviously. Still, I don't refuse to see CMF SW though.Superheroes is another story. There are indeed many iconic characters missing from LEGO sets, and are also not ensured to be featured in a future set. Depends. As said the controversy of CMF Simpsons was that it is able to give much more characters than other regular themes. which is unfair to those licenses which are as notable as Simpsons. If licensed CMF has been confirmed recurring, I believe a regular set wave and CMF series can complement each other and make the best profit
  20. Uh, didn't I say there are Grandparents? There have been some teenage CMFs, though not wearing any uniform. There could be students in future CMFs but not sure if they could be creative enough. It's offtopic, but when we say Centaur it's obviously going to be a new mold,. It's nothing to do with being in a minidoll theme or not. Physically I don't know how TLG can come up with an appropriate Centaur lower body that can be put in a blind bag without being found. If they manage to make it work, I'll be waiting for that.
  21. Recently it's been proven that Maggie Simpsons is not the very first LEGO Maggie. I hate to dissapoint Lisa, but this question is difficult. Congrats on LEGO for bring back the animal welfare issue.
  22. The main problem for children in CMF series is mostly that CMF focus on character personality and careers. Most "children" don't have a career so it's difficult for TLG to come up with a reasonable idea like Grandma Visitor. A kindergarten girl would be a stereotypical being like the Grandparents. And to be honest, the choices of hairstyles for children is really few. Leia's might be licensed, Tina's is not seperable, and the classic pigtails wouldn't return in a short time. Unfortunately Centaur couldn't fit in a regular blindbag and this must rely on regular sets. Harry Potter was a miss, so we have to see if any future Castle set or the rumored Elves get in charge.
  23. Most of this saying sounds correct, but I think the theory of supplement is also same for licensed themes. Most discontinued LEGO licenses didn't always come with a full collection of characters, so CMF licenses could have really helped them out (not to mention using them to create non-yellow MOC figs). The main problem for Simpsons is that it doesn't meet that need since there is only one D2C set, contrary to your saying that TLC focus on regular sets more.
  24. Yeah, I know it's not definitely impossible. I can see a new character with the beret hat reintroduced (which has only been used by Winter Market outside CMF), and a director is one of the feasible choices. But maybe it should be the time for a non-black color. Suppsoe that TLG wouldn't like to introduce more kinds of swimsuits in regular City Coast sets, yeah, it would be nice to see more different kinds of beach lovers in CMF line. That girl with her lifebouy would be more popular than the male Lifeguard. It's ashame that most beautiful swimsuit prints are used for Friends minidolls.I don't know what LEGO's schedule is going to be, I just hope that they can add their production lines so that special and normal series can race together. Adding special series doesn't dissapoint me, but a potentially upcoming Simpsons 2 is what sounds boring, I also missed the Studio ideas. Maybe a studio could have been given in TLM sets for shooting "Where Are My Pants". I'd also like to see a folding chair but it might be too big for a blind bag. Yes, some of the official artworks do have the problem of unrealistic parts. It's just one of the examples which proves some LEGO artworks can be interesting and creative. To me, obviously that background scene is showing that a tailor is measuring the boxer guy's waisteline, and that tailor is also necessary. We've not seen a pair in any CMF artwork, so it could just be a simple artwork. The "Where Are My Pants" Guy could have been a better candidate for that boxer.
