  1. Technically it's the dark red from Mia. This might be a sign that some hairpieces in this line aren't licensed, though I also think the real Aurora doesn't really resemble this hairpiece. But considering that all hairpieces must fit both kinds of figures, LEGO also can't make the hair touch the shoulder of minidolls, as result they "compromise". It's offtopic, as for other regular minifigures, I'm not quite pleased by Skylor's nurse tail recently. She could have standed out more in some of the short minidoll hairpieces but not look like those passerbys from previous episodes.
  2. I'm totally impressed and surprised by the fact how all main characters are favored by giving each of them a new mold. Not only the fact LEGO finally stop extending Elsa's fashion trend, but I think Fred's look is the most generic among them and LEGO usually treat this kind of male characters with certain fixed hairstyles. In conclusion, I hope all four human hairpieces aren't licensed and could be used for more specific characters. ← probably how Fred could have looked like As for Scooby, I didn't expect posable legs, but I'm not sure if the mold shows his best pose? I assume Scrappy-Doo could be look like Chihuahua from CMF line. Whatever, I can see LEGO indeed pay more attention to the details than they did to Disney animals. The van looks much better than the COBI version. I'll looking forward how LEGO do other monsters and ghosts.
  3. Sorry, but I assume the franchise is majorly discussed in the Special Themes subforum. The Olaf one is super awesome!! Even though I have some ideas for Disney funnies, I have to wait for my local orders for sets before doing anything. First of all, the inevitable ending: The good and evil now are even, literally. Something Oky did before, with a reference. However, in today's view, Irina's hairpiece should had worked better for Christina Ricci. A salute to the upcoming Sponge Out of Water, whose license currently belongs to Megabloks. Alright, I still leave a Disney one this time.
  4. Pretty irrelevant addon. Just pass local Toysrus today and see a new promotional artwork for Chinese New Year. Not sure if this artwork could also be seen in other areas. The current promotion campaign includes free red envelopes. Honestly, Kai's smile looks abit creepy (not creepier than the "universial smile" though).
  5. I hate to be sensitive, but why would you compare a single license with a collective license? It sounds like LEGO has to do all Simpsons characters and doesn't have to deal with the other individual licenses seriously. Of course, I'm personally not happy about what LEGO is going to do. As for what the discssion is really about, I agree it'd be interesting to discuss the adult issues behind Simpson franchise (and maybe we could open a topic for all licenses), but the topic title doesn't sound accurate. My solution is, the two could have two different expressions and are distributed to two different sets (though technically they're usually together).
  6. Well there were figures representing famous musicians in history. They were absent in later updates, perhaps due to the change of creator's or LEGO's policy.Pianos have been in Friends so it's not that innovative now, though LEGO could still make a classical piano with historical referrences. I think the team has been watching this project for time so the problem of voting timeline could be less important for it. I quite like the two Superheroes mansions. Though I can see both rejected for license issues, Superheroes buiildings seem to be what we're really lacking this year. However mansions are still too rare in LEGO's typical catalogue. Ghostbusters HQ is the same thing. BTTF train set failed so the chance for GB office is even smaller now, sadly. WALL*E is a good choice for license that doesn't really conflict wit existed Disney products. But TLG would have to consider if a product of non-current film would make profits. The Natural History Museum is absolutely genius, but the last thing is determined by whether TLG already has this idea in mind, and whether they'll allow a fan project join the standard MH line. To me, excluding those licenses which have been mentioned and noticed by team Ideas, I'd not be surprised to see all these projects get rejected due to the reasons that happened in previous reviews Piano has the last chance as a new Creator set, though.
  7. Official channel in Youtube has all Japanese dubbed season 3 (rebooted)..... though that may not help you.As for the latest episode, Korean dubbed version doesn't help me either. I've watched Chinese dub in my local TV.
  8. Well looks like LEGO would make it a traditonal 2D cartoon. It looks nice and I'm not all for 3D, but I wonder how much this cartoon sticks to LEGO bricks in order to promote the products. Of course, Friends 3D cartoon didn't use actual figures but some of the cubic and modern buildings were recognizeable. I kinda agree, but is it possible to make wings as thick as Pixar Planes'? How? Forfeit wallets from any guy who brings an Elves set to the counter? It may be offtopic, the issue is mainly due to the difference of figures. This year I've actually seen many ads that feature both Friends and other themes, but some other recurring ads still don't (LEGO Club, etc, much to Nina's dismay). TLM2 would be the next standard to determine if LEGO takes it up a notch. As for the possible storyline, it seems to focus on the main elves and Emily (what would the bakery guy be?) so we won't see a world with four tribes like Chima. It's actually closer to Ninjago, but not sure if TLG could give the main elves further developments like ninjas do so that it can attract some Ninjago fans too.
  9. Well, i hope the answer doesn't result in differentiated treatments . I agree that TLG would less possibly ruin the whole line by making an inaccurate hero. Just based on the times of uses of new molds, SLH may not appear again if LEGO doesn't plan to do a regular Simpsons wave. As for Bruno, it depends on whether a third Cinderella set could come. Scooby has the best chance to get a mold. I don't have any COBI product on hand. Based on the pic, their Scooby is posable but it's almost three times bigger than regular LEGO dogs. I think a posable LEGO Scooby could be t least as big as Gollum.
  10. Yet another reason why Pixar things were cut off. Meanwhile.... Bigger heads don't always contain talents. Almost there, except color palette.
  11. Even though I do feel excited about this, I kinda worry what the hero dog Scooby would be. We rarely see specific animal characters based on species that had generic versions in regular themes (patrol dogs, for example). Last year we got the very inaccurate Bruno from Cinderella and not sure if it's just another case.
  12. Well there are two questionable points if this is true: 1) October/Halloween, which is exacly the same time for series 12 in 2014, but suppose that there is only one series before October, I'm dissapointed by the fact 2015 schedule is not improved much. Second, we love monsters and Halloween but not sure if this should be a "special series" and could violate the uncodified rule of the diversity for a single series. Again, if LEGO want to add more kinds of special series in this line, I seriously hope LEGO to increase their CMF annual production to ensure the seat of traditional series. I thought too, which is a reason why I presonally think series 2 coming right after that is not a good decision.
  13. Well, IMO all depends on how the idea works. If the idea is right, even a slight change of print arts would make difference. Athletes with school variations work to a degree. Speaking of Monster Fighters, I'm kinda a theorist for hoping to see CMFs different from regular figures as far as possible. Obviously some MF monsters were redesigns from their CMF predecessors. Vampire Bat's bio intended to distinguish the two lines so two vampire lords could coexist. As for the female monsters (female zombie and female vampire) they were exclusive to MF line, but we're not sure if LEGO is able to push they further to the "CMF level". I posted my version of female ghost, and toth's design also put a vampire lady (whose hairpiece might be replaced by Trendsetter's now). The main issue of counting special/licensed theme is that the specific characters would not care about whether certain careers/titles have been used in other series of themes. For example, Chief Wiggum's career is something we never ever lack in LEGO City, but that wouldn't make him worthless. Contrarily he is a great addition to the police staff.
  14. Both appeared in the teaser so I'm not too surprised. The whole plot of the first year is pretty much like Atlantis, but we can still see the room for continuation. I assume LEGO treat it as an experimental case. Of course, I'm dissapointed because they could pre-invest alot in Chima but not this one? Or like Disney Princess' case, their lack of focus on girls' need result in very few annual products, which is a pretty sad thing. Hope that's true. In the worst case, we shall not forget the lesson Sofia taught us . Or.....
  15. I thought I mentioned Doorlock Homes in the first page. In this case, we've actually got several official names for CMFs even if they're not all based on parodies. TLM is another example. I assume that the reason why LEGO leave us unspecific titles to CMFs is to leave the room for the use of generic playing, though they're sometimes descried as individuals in official commercials. So back to the topic, we may ask for some parody characters, but they have to use a title that wasn't used by any other existed CMF. LEGO already announces their orignial lady elves in the upcoming Elves, but I'm sure their bodyshape would make you feel more disjointed . I think it's okay to reintroduce the elf hairpieces with yellow ears (not sure if Hobbit ones are unallowed for license issues).
  16. I revisited previous posts and found out that some links are dead. Feels like LEGO doesn't leave all episodes permanently available for common English speakers. Japanese FOLs seem to be the most favored ones because they have almost every show dubbed in LEGO's youtube channel. Webisode series can be easily found in LEGO's websiteAs the replies said there are six regular episodes so far: Ep1 was Olivia and FOLs' very first visit to Heartlake City in 2012. Ep2, Stephanie's Surprise Party, features the former wave of 2013. Ep3, Dolphin Cruise, features the latter wave of 2013. Ep4 and Ep 5 "both" feature the former wave of 2014. Ep6 features the previous Jungle series. Oh and by the way, just a note of the newest commercial... Noah looks more frightening than I thought. If it's also Kai's realworld look, Ninjago fans might just break down.
  17. Indeed, it's relaxing to watch the Friends enjoy their cruise. I personally wish they could also add some City coast ships to this story if it's not restricted too much, but Dolphin Cruise is still the only star of the latter part of the episode. This series isn't updated periodically, but generally each wave would at least get one episode. Excluding BIonicle, Ninjago's pilot episodes for their first wave was earlier. Then the beginning of 2012 had Ninjago TV premiere and the first episode of Friends WttHLC.
  18. Both are gorgeous presentations for couples. I'll be waiting for these.
  19. Yeah, I just forgot Doorlock Homes had no pipe too. Thanx for the praises from everyone. * Groom / Terra cotta Soldier (COMEON! They have to do it!) I have to second that. Kunoichi sounds possibe after a female samurai, but again I expect to see a more historically exclusive character in CMF lines. Two cooks (including baker) in a series don’t work well., though it could be interesting to see cooks from different cultures. I'm not too familiar with the definition of "French Maid", but Google IMG give me the impression of hotness . I'll be waiting for a more ordinary/classic version of maids. I think matador could be a more representive choice before a rodeo clown is seen in later series. Jogger’s problem could be lacking accessories, it might end up with a sole Cardio Carrie. We’ve got Gymnast in team GB and a male counterpart seems unlikely happen. LEGO would never have enough space characters, but it reminds me that the very original Spaceman wasn’t considered a “hero” like Intergalactic Girl is, but merely an “explorer”.
  20. Wait, so shouldn't there be a guessing game this time? The last guessing game was three months ago, but it's also rumored that a special series is coming the next. My previous prediction was technically a huge failure. But anyway, I still come up with another one.
  21. For unknown reason, I haven't seen episode six voiced in English. The very first version I saw was Russian, and a week ago Japanese version released. Thankfully I understand some Japanese. If anyone finds the English version, please inform me here.
  22. Sadly no, but luckily there are other similiar ones.
  23. Well first we know licenced references are unavailable until TLM2. What I mean was some other LEGO's original geographical names like Astor or Bricksburg. The only effect of choosing Heartlake is to appeal the similiar targeted market. I don't think it hurt to make theme related, though it doesn't really affect the main storyline, I agree. As for TLM2, I wonder if both Chima and Elves wouldn't make guest appearances again since they're defined as parallel worlds. As long as it's a fantasy like Chima, I really hope Elves to get the same treat and not end up as mini-episodes.Obviously there is a palace hinting a bigger set. It looks like a temple. The current settings all look very remote, so can we see the Elvendale capital and royalties along with new Castle sets in a future wave?
  24. If we're not considering minidolls themes as an enclosed world, Emily could come from anywhere else. Of course, in that saying she could better be an used minidolls from previous sets, especially for that Emily's hairpiece was initially introduced by Joanna. I did guess that TLG made this hair to reserve for a future key character, but Joanna relatively loses a potential chance of getting any bigger role .
  25. Great review, I believe that we'll see an Arabian palace set in the future along with Aladin (along with Genie, hopefully). Microfig instead? It depends on the amount of sets LEGO decide to make in this wave, and the factor that determines characters are scenes. The main problem for this wave could be the lack of King Triton, suppose that the undersea palace is the final version of Little Mermaid castle. As for the Frozen one, LEGO can actually include Hans and the army if they treat it as a licensed action set.
