  1. I'm not sure why there's all this hate for the 2.0 feet. They're large enough to keep figures stable with ease, quite neutral in terms of aesthetic and on a Master-sized build they're definitely correct in terms of proportion.
  2. Are the creatures all the same kind of build? Do they feature clearly non-standard torso constructions (i.e. using technic and similar such parts to make a more unique structure)? What sort of action features do they have? Is Umarak's mask spiky or sleek or both?
  3. Considering the impossibility of fitting an articulated spider and all its legs into a $10 set, much less one with two functions, we kinda should have known. I have been able to figure out a way to fit both a spider and a scorpion into a $15 pricepoint. You need three-way connectors and hands to make up the body. This build should allow someone to fit the spider described in the fake leak into a set with all eight legs, but would have to sacrifice any function and a set of legs when making the scorpion to allow for its chelicerae and tail.
  4. A function that works with both arms, presumably. I really hope that Onua's drill will look more like an actual drill than Whenua's.
  5. There's also the fact that Ikir is apparently built out of technic beams to facilitate his wrapping function.
  6. Yeah! Earth-themed spider and more glorious tr. purple. And a drill! Definitely picking both Onua and Terak up, and probably Ketar since I love scorpions. And Umarak has one of the few color schemes using black that I actually like. Plus, he sounds like a remade Maxilos and Spinax. Fear the doom puppy of sniffing and slobber. I do already know that I want to mod Terak into a jumping spider, though. I might have to use a few suspension/shock absorber pieces for that, which, combined with a proper lever system, should be able to release a large amount of force. Not too sure how to keep Terak upright for the landing though. Hopefully the launch mechanism adds enough weight, considering the fact that I have no idea how to add a gyroscope. Really curious how they'll do Ikir's wrapping function.
  7. What is it with the black-colored villains? Seriously, it's getting ridiculously boring at this point. Personally, I hope they make him black and white, just to get as far away from the typical villain color scheme as possible with the limitation imposed.
  8. I don't know, pink could work pretty well as a detail color for the fire dragon, perhaps as the color of a spine made from cheese slopes.
  9. <spoiler>Insert text here</spoiler>. Just replace < with [ and > with ].
  10. Yeah, I was thinking of Megablocks too. I loved those things. I still think brick-built modules, with their better size/price ratio would work better than simply making lots of unique molds. Maybe a specialized claw mold that doesn't have the weird heel of the CCBS beast foot. One new mold that would be necessary is a good wing mold (or two, perhaps one "elegant", for more regal dragons and one tattered one for really ancient dragons). To avoid the fragility and non-LEGO look of cloth pieces, I'd suggest making them from flexible rubber, similar to some DUPLO pieces. This would allow them to fold easily, while still forming stable connections.
  11. That double Grinder arm though.
  12. I love the idea of a dragon-based theme and have wanted it for a long time, but I don't think it'd be possible without a number of relatively major concessions. Amongst other things, to avoid a large number of new molds and the need to introduce new parts regularly to let dragons stay distinct (one of the problem Bionicle and it's non-modular system suffered from), I'd make the dragons out of brick-built modules, with each module having one or two colors to allow the modules to be mixed while staying coherent. To allow the story to be accessible to all, regardless of the level of story depth they want, I'd suggest developing the non-plot-relevant elements greatly, in the form of an official story dictionary or wiki. To keep things interesting, perhaps the kind of technology visible in the sets could reflect a high rate of technological development. Say the story starts in an area with technology vaguely similar to early Greco-Roman tech, with stuff like dragon-mounted ballistas, moving on to Antythykera mechanism-level clockwork tech (people love steampunk, right?) and eventually to a vaguely atomic age tech (also technically steampunk, considering how nuclear power plants work). It'd make sense for technology to progress quickly if intellectual development is stimulated by the enormous effects of wizards and the like.
  13. Maybe the Toa will just have a layer of solid-colored or metallic armor over glowy, transparent bone structures?
  14. Wasn't Cole's hood translucent too?
  15. These dragons could actually get me into buying some of these. Especially if they have as many glorious translucent pieces as this year's sets.
  16. I don't know, what with the mashup approach it seems like a fairly normal Action Theme.
  17. Personally, I like the idea of the Toa having pets/allies/whatever. My guesses are that Earth will have a mole or other burrowing creature, Stone will have a termite (yes, I know, termites are also burrowing creatures), Fire will be some kind of salamander-esque creature, Ice will be a wolf or fox (or a moose ? Beware the death Meese of the icy wastes!), Jungle will be a bird (bonus points if it has a reddish-brown beak) and water will be a seal, crocodile or other creature with an amphibious lifestyle, to allow it to join in with land battles. Pretty much the only animal of that kind I think we can rule out is a penguin.
  18. Yeah, it seems likely that those "super" or whatever they're called versions of characters are CCBS versions. So yeah, Knights Kingdom III confirmed.
  19. Personally, I think Cole's dragon is going to be similar in build to Chima's Legend Beasts, which could make for an interesting set. I just wish that Jay's elemental dragon was a bit larger, maybe around the $40 or $45 pricemark. Not too interested in the rest of the sets yet.
  20. Personally, I just likes small, drone-like villains. I absolutely loved the Nektann robots from the Voya Nui Online Game, and while I doubt there will be rolling Bohrok-like creatures (or at least that they'll compose most of the wave, considering that the build would be easily achievable using just three parts for the body and some adjustment to allow for the shooter), I think small crawling horde villains are pretty likely. The Skull Spiders are just a bit too small, although they're still fun. At protector size, I think the concept could work quite well. Horde villains lend themselves well to cleverly-done unifying themes and motifs. Especially if there's a horde leader villain in the summer wave.
  21. I don't think it clashes. The silver actually helps break up the color scheme a little more. A solid blob of black at the end of each leg doesn't look that good. At any rate, your revamp is looking pretty good.
  22. I want to see another Kardas-style combiner. All that would be needed are a three $20 sets (and maybe a $25 one featuring some parts that add to the stability of the combiner) with fairly simple color schemes, with a neutral base and with the distinguishing colors being ones that work together well. I'd suggest black, green and blue. Especially if they are non-humanoid, making combiners with CCBS sets should be easier than it was with the old, piecemeal system. Considering the fact that all of the recolors and new molds would already have been featured in the sets it would be composed of (unless they decide to include a special mask or something), a $60 pricepoint (for $20+$20+$25, or a $55 pricepoint if it's three $20 sets) should be attainable, which would be within the range of christmas gifts.
  23. Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous how much LEGO is obsessed with humanoid heroes. We need more non-humanoids in general. They tend to have much more interesting builds.
  24. Some sort of museum theme would be nice. The architecture would appeal to AFOLs, modular dinosaur skeletons and reconstructions (to save on the number of new molds) would appeal to everyone. A small baseplate, a few walls and maybe a roof would cost about $10 or $20 in the case of really big sets, which would mean a lot of money left over for the actual items displayed inside. Also Rock Raiders 2.0.
