Am I the only one wondering if the creatures are just larger versions of the small animals featured in each "Month of..." picture?

Yeah, the description of the Forge of the Mask Makers on the site already mentions some of the old ones "and a thousand other miraculous powers".

The best and worst designed 2015 Bionicle Skull Villains
DraikNova replied to YellowCorvette's topic in LEGO Action Figures
If we're talking about "worst Bionicle set relative to the rest of the year", I think Good Guy is still better than Skull Scorpio. At any rate, on my rating, Skull Slicer and Skull Warrior are pretty much on the same level. -
Yeah, there's a reason why TVTropes compares its fanbase to My Little Pony.

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
DraikNova replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Recolor it to silver, I meant. -
Perhaps they share three masks in various, in corrupted and uncorrupted forms, a la G1? This would wave 1 to have a reasonable amount of enemies for the Toa to face while the creatures are evil at the start (with the Mask of Control's influence affecting them through their corrupted masks), while the beasts take over the evil role in the summer?

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
DraikNova replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I'm guessing the fact that they'd have to recolor the round armor piece. I really think they should have just removed a few pieces that weren't 100% necessary to scrape up the budget to recolor that piece, because gunmetal is just close enough to black that it causes a weird colorscheme Uncanny Valley effect, while silver, being brighter, helps liven up a colorscheme. -
Too bad if it's cancelled, but the idea of a booster pack featuring recolored versions of the masks of Toa or perhaps their creatures sounds pretty cool.

I think Ekimu will have the MoCr, but I highly doubt Umarak in either incarnation will feature a technic torso. The only real reason that was done with Darth Vader was to make his bulky armor as movie-accurate as possible. With Umarak, I think they'll just use the "extra" money to give him a more complex CCBS build. Maybe a towering, Grievous-like hunchback, but significantly more armored, or perhaps he'll be a more dwarf-like bulky giant, like a massive version of Onua.

There were a few were they were well-integrated, though, like the Vahki. In the case of a crab, I'd suggest using two, and possibly combining them with a feature to open the claws. Scorpions and wasps can obviously just use the launchers in place of stinger tips. But really, I just want fewer if not no functions in exchange for better core builds. Using launchers is just a reasonable middle ground, I find.

Considering that several of the G1 mask powers canonically exist within G2 (see the description for the Mask Maker's Forge on the website), that'd be a nice way of both making the Toa a little more interesting power-wise while allowing them to introduce next year's plot devices, without having to make the story any more complicated than it already is.

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion

If you like CCBS, General Grievous. If you prefer Technic, go for Vader. Personally, I prefer Grievous. -
Yeah, that almost seems suspicious, now that you mention it.

Great, now I want to see Star Wars as imagined by Salvador Dali. At any rate though, in that picture of Vader, his upper armor actually appears to be silver.

Personally, I hope that next year, more of the budget goes into CCBS parts, rather than Technic-heavy functions. They can be cool and all, but if I wanted Technic stuff I would buy Technic. If we just get simple features (like Bionicle G1's ever-present launchers), that'd free up more of the budget to make the creatures as a whole more imposing. And, well, for 2017, part of me wishes we would get a Grievous-sized creature. Without the SW license eating up a significant part of the budget, a fully-armored, fully-articulated, fully-legged Manas or Nui Jaga-esque creature could easily be done. As for how it could be integrated into the story, let's say the Toa are in their (based on this year's story and the way 2016's creatures will almost inevitably be used) presumably typical "we're powerless against our enemies. We need help" situation, when they find a creature stuck in the devastation of 2017's climactic battle's enviroment, which they help free. The idea of the big bad of the story being beaten by perfectly ordinary (well, for Okoto) wildlife is just too good to pass up.

Pretty cool. It reminds me of the Stone Warrior prints in a way.

I've noticed one major problem with him: his lower arms are way too short. They'd be acceptable if his upper arms weren't huge, but with the 1.5 times larger upper arms...just no. And, on a more minor note, what's with the gunmetal armor add-ons? Apart from that, pretty nice, although as always the SW license leaves the set somewhat overpriced, at least compared to, say, Queen Beast. Thanks for the review VBBN!

So that's where that Gali clip comes from. Also, I think Lewa might be the most powerful of all the Toa in G2. For one thing, he possesses the ability to notice the incredibly obvious.

Wait, all new parts or just new figure parts? I've ordered some parts that were new for this year. Could it just be region-specific?
-
If those are the summer sets, and each one is supposed to fight off two Toa and their creatures ($75 probably), I hope they at least make the beasts $20 sets. Larger creature sets are always nice, and they'd have an incredibly unfair fight on their hands otherwise. My guess is that Ekimu is a $10 or $15 set.

Is that official? Because it seems that wherever Okoto is, the planet has two (main) moons.

It's a good thing that they changed those molds. Those corners have made it difficult for me to fit those parts into certain MOCs, as the corners brought up in each other. It's definitely going to bother me though that my pieces aren't identical.

Personally, I think Hunter sounds a little more menacing than the somewhat trite and cliche "Destroyer". It calls to mind slasher movie villains and the like, rather than your friendly neighborhood-bathing-in-hamminess supervillain.

Super mega Umarak, I guess. If that's a larger set than the hunter one, I hope he gets his own pet. But even though CM4Sci seems reliable, I'm still a bit suspicious of this.
