I really love the look of the lava monster on the far left, just sticking its head into the picture. It looks like a combination of some of the drawn and animated Rock Raiders and Power Miners lava monsters. I'm also loving the design for the good guys. I've never been much of a castle fan (unless it involves dragons), but this has definitely managed to interest me. The stretched look of the Bull Knight confuses me a bit, but he still looks awesome. I wonder how they'll deal with Macy's hair flowing out of her helmet, or if they'll simply not bother to actually make that in the sets. It'd be impractical, to say the least. Also, the new sword mold is awesome.

I live in Europe as well, and I love some of the designs.

I forgot about Umarak completely. I actually kind of want him too. He's got some nice recolors and a cool torso print, plus the Mask of Crushing People with Elephants That Fall From The Sky. And two double ballcup pieces, but that's not really that important.

See, that's exactly the reason I won't get them: too much technic, too little CCBS. Quite a few good recolors, but not that many parts.

I suggest combining standard CCBS torsos to start with. For larger MOCs, building a sort of combined skin and skeleton structure using CCBS bones can work quite well, but when it comes to the standard sizes used for most custom Toa, I think you could make something that works using a few XT4 torsos and double ballcup bones. To get a more typically feminine look, a slight backwards arch in the upper part of the torso is helpful, such that the upper 2/7 of the torso curves back towards the head, while the 3/7 under that curves towards the hips. Replicating this on the back of the torso can also help, and this whole look is quite easy to do with the aforementioned parts and some G1 hands+these for the hips.

It is the Bionicle 2016 set discussion. That tie is an element in the set of ties shown in Bionicle 2016 leaks. Back on topic, I'm probably only getting Onua and Terak, and Onua only for his tr. purple and the fact that I want to see that combiner.

I think that goes in the 2016 story topic, considering the fact that we knew we have a netflix series coming, but that is one seriously mysterious title.

I realize that, but I was talking about the long-term sustainability of such a theme. After the first wave or two, it'd just peter out. Anyway, I'm also one of the people who likes both KKII and Nexo Knights.
-
Wait. You mentioned that they used the top half of the Invasion from Below Jumpers as the snout of a dragon. Which dragon and where? I can't see it.
-
That would be amazing. But considering how they seem to have exhausted most of the basic concepts (giant serpent, giant dragons, giant wolf), they'd have to put in a lot of work to find concepts that they can use. While they made both Jörmungandr and Fenrir, I can't see them making their sister, Hel, for example. Most of the monsters that would be suitable for LEGO sets are just variations on the theme of bloody huge wolf. But then again, there's also the chance for LEGO to have elves, dwarves, zombies, giants and pretty much most creatures used in western fantasy. Plus there's the Hafgufa (think island turtle mixed with whale), which could make an interesting design.

I know what you meant. I was just expressing distaste regarding the way quantum (usually used to refer to the smallest possible amount of some quantity, the individual elements that make up something that otherwise seems to be continuous) is used in said common phrase. At any rate, I look forward to seeing more of your awesome drawings CM4Sci. Especially Jay's dragon.
-
Or if you're a Ninjago fan. At any rate, considering that you're not spending much on sets, doesn't this leave you with a reasonable amount of money to order parts via bricklink/Bricks and Pieces? In my experience with other themes, sets rarely offer many pieces that are useful to make things in the same style, but at a larger scale. Since less of your money is going into these sets that are less than optimal for MOCcing, that money should allow you to get exactly the things you need for MOCcing. The more specialized pieces needed for Castle MOCs are still offered in Nexo Knights as far as I can see.
-
It's a lot more than a quantum leap. The old palm trees looked like the kind of fake palm trees you see in water parks and the like.
-
Wow. That is the most ridiculously detailed depiction of a palm tree I've ever seen. And that little island is balancing on a drill as well. Not too interested in the rest of the set, though. It seems pretty plain.

I'm thinking that Umarak would just have a bit of nice and neutral brown to contrast the Beasts, with tr reddish orange for Lava, tr. purple for Quake and a mix of tr. dark blue and tr. green for Storm. Either that, or the creatures look like armor. Quake beast would look almost like one of the Shadow of the Collosus creatures with a mix of greys, blacks and maybe greens if it turns out to be an earth/jungle mix rather than earth/ice. It would then form the outer layer of Umarak the Destroyer's armor, while Storm and Lava would form different parts of his flexible underarmor.

Also, there's a strange theory over at the TTV forums. Namely, that the Beasts can combine with Umarak the Destroyer. Which would be a really nice opportunity to make a truly menacing Kardas-size villain. The fact that he'd probably look like a black mass with currents of elemental energy running around and through him would just be a pleasant accident.

I just realized something. While there's no reason for Okoto to start crumbling when Makuta put on a mask that just has the power of all six elements, he also took off the Mask of Control at that point. Maybe the combination of the MoUP's activation and the deactivation of the MoC awoke something beneath the island? ... Ok, I know they wouldn't do something like that, especially considering how similar it is to G1's plot engine, but the logical disconnect between the MoUP's powers and the effect of putting it on really bothers me.

It's pretty big. It has a jagged skull with a walkway leading inside as the front, with those Chima disk shooters as the eyes and those huge circular pieces used by the main sub in the Atlantis theme as the rotor container thingies.
-
I wonder what will happen to Umarak's torso mouth thing in his Destroyer form. Hopefully, they won't just get rid of it, but actually make it a physical part of the build. If they're going to use technic, they should at least make full use of it. Also, I predict Toa-sized horns made using the large spider legs in black.

I'd like to see Makuta get redeemed at the end of the story. I also kind of want to see Makuta retain some of his chessmaster status from G1 and have this whole situation with the MouP just be Makuta's way of teaching the Toa valuable skills. ... Yes, I am implying that I want the entirety of G2 to turn out to be Makuta trolling absolutely everyone, including the MouP.

It's nice to see that I'll have something to replace Bionicle in my list of expenses. The two sets you've drawn CM4Sci look absolutely beautiful. Misfortune's keep's jagged face looks like a perfect intersection of Ninjago's occasionally pseudo-steampunkish style and classic pirate islands. And the use of the Friends balloon in the Zeppelin Raid works out a lot better than I would have thought.

Also, black and purple go well with gold. Red and gold is just a bit overused in general, which makes any amount of it look worse.

Yeah, pretty much. I figured the "squid" part indicated that sufficiently.
-
I'd like some sort of body created by the MouP for itself. Something very unusual, somewhat bestial and just plain strange in build. Something like a hybrid between a real world jaguar, a squid and a Boxor is what I'm imagining. I just really want a titan with an excuse to show off Grievous-level or better CCBS complexity.
