  1. Or maybe it didn't hold up to increasing quality standards. I do think a shell or add-on with blended gunmetal and orange has potential, though.
  2. Eegh, that was strange. I've never heard of that term before. Is it common in the UK? At any rate, I kind of like how "part chicken, part frog" seems to be a jab at Jurassic World. I've just gotten all of series 5, and I think the Lixers may be my favorite tribe yet. They're so amusingly weird and they have so many interesting parts. The others are also great, but the Lixers are just plain awesome in their sheer ridiculousness. In other news, the LEGO store I went to had lots of Mixel eyes availalbe in the PaB wall, so I took about 100 of them. I kind of wonder whether I'll ever see Mixel joints in there.
  3. Underwater stuff would be cool. Just think: we could get monstrous eel-dragons. Although I fear we'd end up getting Whirpool-itzu or something too.
  4. Ooh, that dragon MOD looks excellent. I may end up copying that. I'd love to see a review LegendsOfNinjago.
  5. I've got to say, Deepstone is my favorite of those variations, with DX being a close second and Techno robes being third.
  6. Me too. For now, painting is the only real option available. I'd suggest painting a Stormer figure, because the head is reasonably close to Stringer's. I kind of want to get IfB mold beast heads in more colors, to be honest. Those things are incredibly useful for more generic creature MOCs too small for custom heads to be practical. Lime green would be nice. In fact, I would like more lime green in general. Most lime green sets featured only 3m shells, which makes lime green MOCs difficult to make. A different generic two-part head would also be appreciated. Perhaps a more rounded head, or one with a snout. The mech theme was great, but while I would love to see it come back, it seems unlikely for LEGO to return to such a concept. They'll probably stick with Bionicle, SW and Mixels for now. The chance of them introducing a new constraction line soon is infinitesimal.
  7. Interesting. I'd either remove the lower joint or make the lower joint resemble the kind used for upper-to-lower limb connections.
  8. Ooh, nice. Especially since it has the ball and chain piece which I've been wanting to get for a while. Plus what appears to be a new shield piece. Those giant purple eyes are kind of freakishly buglike, though. But there are at two black T-shaped connectors in the set, not counting extras, so it's all good. Plus we get another female villain!
  9. As an evil, evil person, I'm all for this.
  10. I vouch for a Kardas remake. Seriously, that thing was awesome. And people always like dragons, so it'd be a good excuse to make a large constraction set.
  11. Nice! I think I've seen your storage solution before. I've been trying to decide whether to simply go with lots of Akro-Mills drawers and just use a significantly larger number of categories into which to sort parts for a while now. I think I could probably fit 10 of the 24 drawer variety in the space that I have, which would definitely provide enough space to hold all of my LEGO.
  12. Yeah, some sort of armor piece that shows elemental power coursing through it could work great in tr. colors. And it could be reused as roots for plants.
  13. I don't particularly want legs, but I would suggest just using two modified 1x2 plates with handles, along with two 1x1 modified plates with clips per leg. That way, you have short legs that don't look weird in combination with wings that are locked into "flight mode". Alternatively, use one 1x1 modified plate with clip, one 1x1 modified tile with clip and one tooth piece per leg. Making the dragons capable of standing on their legs seems impossible and somewhat unnecessary. I've tried builds similar to the ones you've used a few times before, and they've always proved to be unstable and somewhat jarring. The middle one is the best, I think. At any rate, I'm going to be modifying all of these into four-legged dragons, which should solve both issues, at the cost of them resembling the original builds.
  14. Mostly, I sort them out in general categories, like "gears", "hinges" or "bricks with holes for technic pieces". For parts that I have a lot of, I either sort the main category out into more specific ones or start sorting them out per specific part type. Sorting by color is impractical, since you'll be unable to find the part that you want in the homogenous pile you've made. Also, I live in the Netherlands, and there aren't (m)any home improvement stores here. I've mostly been looking at stores like Ikea and online (mostly just at Amazon). Thanks for the help though! EDIT: Updated the first post with sizes in inches.
  15. I personally prefer the "official look". For one thing, the legs you gave them are far too long.
  16. I'd prefer if they didn't reuse the SW armor shell. It's ridiculously smooth, too long and it doesn't have any connection points for add-ons. The SW add-on is definitely something I want to see, though. And lime green. There were like three sets that had 5-length shells in lime green, which is rather ridiculous. Ninjago stuff would be cool. Those knockoffs had exactly the right idea for what CCBS versions of the main characters should look like.
  17. Yeah, more purple. And I'll echo the need for Bohrok. Those things had style. Most of all, though, I want a few Rahi. Maybe even just one $40-$50 set with lots of alternate models.
  18. The Mystery Machine has always been pretty huge. Usually, the only reason why the Mystery Machine wasn't as tall as the first story of whatever house it was parked next to was the fact that it was a creepy mansion.
  19. If you cut off exclusives, the 2008 price decreases significantly (I think it's almost $200). At any rate, let's say we have the same hero setup as this year, albeit flipped around so that the small sets become the large ones and the large ones become the small ones. So $105 for the first wave. Then we have one $15 generic raptor, one $20 Triceratops, one $20 azhdarchid pterosaur, one $25 mosasaur, one $25 ankylosaur and one $35 T. Rex. You can't really make a good sauropod for under $45, not unless you make it one of the teeny-tiny ones. That comes to $140 for the second wave, which means the whole year would be only $245.
  20. So that the tail can be swished back and forth to knock things over.
  21. A T-rex model would be very unstable if the gearbox was connected to its legs. I could see it having a gearbox connected to its head or tail, though.
  22. Okay, the Scooby Doo stuff looks pretty great in the game.
  23. I can't hear you over the sound of a $35 tyrannosaur (preferably black and purple. I'm sick and tired of red getting the top billing) screaming it's piercing shriek. I'd especially love it if they'd use an Azhdarchid as the counterpart to Lewa, because, as far as flying creatures go, one of those is infinitely scarier than some bird or insect-based villain. Also, people'd go nuts over the wing membranes, just like they do over every single cape ever. Also, I imagine 2016 Onua with a large drill with tr. purple elements in one hand and a large Gatling gun piece based pistol in the other. Or maybe the gatling gun could be integrated into his arm or used as a shoulder-mounted weapon, which always seemed the most practical way to use both a melee weapon and a ranged one simultaneously. For one thing, it still allows you to dual-wield or use the free arm to help stabilize yourself.
  24. That makes even less sense than the fact that the Overlord's armor isn't available. Sure, it was used initially for LoTR, but that's no excuse for removing the differently-colored version from a different theme from Bricks and Pieces.
