  1. I generally just take apart my sets completely, storing them according to brick type for easy use in MOCcing.
  2. I'm trying to decide between Akro-Mills and Raaco's 250 series. Raaco would allow me to use my space more efficiently, but, unlike Akro-Mills, it isn't made to be stackable (without it's freestanding rack, which, since I want to put them against a wall, isn't at all helpful). This is a problem mostly because I fear the Raaco stuff might be knocked over during cleaning. Any suggestions on how to keep them stable?
  3. Weirdly enough, that polybag seems to use the Chima claws in tr. orange combined with that technic pneumatic connector Invasion From Below used. It's bones are dark red, yet its armor seems tr. (light) blue?
  4. That makes me think of the game "Sir, you are being hunted". The mental image of a Bionicle mask with a mustache is making me laugh my head off.
  5. Exclusives in the Netherlands...aren't. You can get them pretty much anywhere here.
  6. I managed to acquire the Morro Dragon for 58 euros. Even with double VIP point promotions, buying it at the LEGO store would have cost me five euros more. This may be the first time in at least five years that buying a set in the Netherlands is at all a good decision
  7. Because it's very difficult to get Akro-Mills in my country, I've been looking at Raaco's 250 series, which is a lot deeper anyway. The problem is that they aren't set up to be stackable, at least not without their free-standing rack, which, since I want to put them up against a wall, isn't usable for me. Any suggestions?
  8. Not really underrated, though. Aside from the usual whining about CCBS, she (I seem to remember a comic somewhere that confirmed this) had an overwhelmingly popular reception.
  9. One complaint I've never understood about CCBS is how the shells make sets look to organic. If you're going to be making a robot, especially one that needs to stay working for thousands or millions of years as in G1 Bionicle, it needs an outer shell to protect the mechanisms from debris and dirt. Otherwise the whole thing will experience a failure in its gearbox within a month or two of intensive use. For something that moves around as much as a humanoid being, that may be too high an estimate.
  10. Cue the magma crabs with rapid-fire basalt guns. Which actually could work quite well, now that I think about it. We already have adamantine, after all .
  11. Huh. I'm surprised I didn't think about the kangaroo. It is indeed perfect as a match for Pohatu. Now, considering the fact that Gali's creature will presumably have to help her on-land, I'd suggest a crocodile. The mental image of an azure crocodile is just too awesome for words.
  12. A rock worm would be nice. It'd be annoying to deal with the constant Dune memes that'd pop up. But the real reason I suggested the Dimetrodon was that I recently learned that a LEGO version could easily be accurate, considering the fact that it's sail only extended partway up it's bony spines. Putting it in its natural environment would definitely be better though, I've got to agree with you on that. To switch things up further, perhaps a sea scorpion for water and a dragon for ice (it'd be to cliched to give fire a dragon).
  13. We're going to have to find better ways to discourage trolls soon, I feel. Now that we're all uncertain again, what creatures do you guys think would be appropriate for the various elements? For fire, I think a phoenix-like bird or salamander (maybe a Dimetrodon-like creature to make it a little more interesting) would work best.
  14. Aaaaand Nekchir faked the whole thing. Great, back to square one.
  15. A CCBS frog with a jumping-feature (probably lever-activated and preferably using a spring piece rather than a rubber band) would be the cutest thing ever. Mini-Tarakava would be a close second. Kind of wondering what they'd use for its fists. To be honest, the primary reason I don't want Tekar to be a crab is because of the inevitable "Boxor crab" puns.
  16. In the case of the star-nosed mole, they're almost the same size as its nose tentacles. The hand itself is larger than the claws and I can't think of any claw piece of appropriate sized part that would fit unless he gets a new hand mold, which seems unlikely. Terak would have to be huge, probably using the Savage Planet paws for hands in that case. I don't think a mole of that size could fit in the set.
  17. Mostly because the only thing scary about spiders are how spindly small ones are. Larger ones just look adorable. I want to see a properly menacing-looking raven soon, maybe a monstrous (elephant) seal (those things look like sacks of rubber but act like organic wrecking balls) and a few original creatures, like G1 had Tarakava.
  18. @Timeline: Sure, Terak could be a crab, but where would the launcher go? ... Now that I think about it, couldn't the projectile have been confused with actual claws? @MakutaOfWar: It could be really interesting to see more monstrous creatures compared to the presumably sleek and stereotypically heroic-looking animals we'll get for the winter wave. Also, I think that the larger upper claw on Makuta's hammer is actually a Chima claw piece, rather than a kaiju fin.
  19. I'm wondering what Terak could be. Moles don't have long claws, they have large, six-fingered hands with humongous palms. Maybe the taper of a mole's snout was misconstrued as a claw?
  20. For crying out loud people. Why did we have to gain about three pages worth just bickering about copyright? We've discussed in a hundred times before. Can we please just move on and start discussing what we think the builds will look like? Also, this is kind of a strange comparison, considering that the movie would be the equivalent of the actual set, which leads to the conclusion that script=instructions or pictures. At any rate, I hope they bother to give Ketar eight legs rather than six.
  21. I loved the Evo Walker. It has a ton of great parts, a lot of posability, a simple function (I don't care much for those, but it's still a nice addition) and I managed to spend several hours just rebuilding and rebuilding it. There are so many combinations that can be made with just the parts from that set.
  22. Yes, but with modern figures, like Tahu or Kopaka, they're approximately correct in terms of proportion, while still providing a reasonable degree of stability.
  23. I love the choice of creatures. Part of me wonders how they'll incorporate Akida into land-based storylines, unless Akida is a lungish or similar creature. Also, I'm starting to wonder if Pohatu, with the claws and (...beware my) stinger tail will resemble those statues everyone seems obsessed with. Also, couldn't the special number indicating the retailer simply have a black box photoshopped over it?
  24. Any flying creatures? Does Gali's creature seem based on a creature with a solely aquatic lifestyle or on one with an amphibious lifestyle?
  25. I love how Onua managed to just break the entire arena with one hit. It really reminded me of the way he caved in most of Onu-Koro in MoL. And Kopaka's snarkiness is kind of cute in its way too. Absolutely perfect episode. The only thing I'd complain about is the design for Lewa's face, which looks a little too set-accurate compared to the rest of the animations and just looks weird in general really.
