Will you use lego ir for the remote control? If so have you tested the setup in bright light?

Does look cool, a few of them lined up with the correct gearing to count seconds and mins in a hour would be great, but the noise would get too much in the long run I think

Agree with this, unless you really look they do look the same, i have a 9v on the front of mine with a fake one right behind and you would really need to look to spot it.
