  1. When i got into 9V all my stuff was used and its still mostly ok 2 of my motors are a little dodgy and could do with new internals but better than £40 off the bat for sure.
  2. Thanks. I will get an update shot later this weekend, my order of 9v straights has arrived so can complete the basic track bed
  3. I would guess the switch is stiff with grime and dust in the motor housing. The stopping a bit past the switch happens with all of my motors. I have 3 and they all do it.
  4. But the amount of UV from a 1.2m Light is not enough to cause any damage?
  5. Does anyone know what effect florescent lights will have on models? do they have much UV in them
  6. This could be the cause. It is possible the issue is in a windows file. Check for a restore point just befor it stopped working and try that. Remember you may lose files in the process so make sure eventing is backed up before doing this. Good luck
  7. Hope the new sensors work out for you, and you get track power stable
  8. At the same time right?
  9. I guess you know what your doing, but did you use a large value electronic and a small value non polar to block both types of spikes?
  10. This is really nice work, The barriers look the part, the speed is perfect. The use of Micro motors will make this very expensive I think. Can the sensors be installed under the track looking up? then you would not see them at all
  11. I Managed to get the first 2 switches cut to make a cross over, works really well thanks for all the input on this
  12. That curve looks really good
  13. Can see why, this looks like a lot of fun
  14. Small update, I have the deck done for the main table, laid out in base board dimensions. I laid the Track for the outer loop just to test things out this was last night, I have since added a few shelves and the inner main loop. Custom switch track is not to connect up the 2 loops and a few more lengths of 9V to complete the sidings. Only issue is that the deck of the table acts as a drum making running very loud, not sure this will get any better with baseboarded tracks, plus I don't have any where near enough for the base boards I will need. I think a fabric covering will bridge the gap any recommendations?
  15. All the best on this, I hope it works
  16. Thanks for the tip on the dcc, did not clock that
  17. is that for more play space? My goal is total automation in the long run, I really like watching and building displays that take care of them self, that said there will always be the need to play as well
  18. Fantastic, looks great fun
  19. Only issue with the points switch and loop back is when i am running 9V which will be for a while until I get DCC sorted (if I do) i will have a short I think, unless I misunderstand your idea?
  20. PACC, nice work, I have a few options now, this is the latest version of the layout, still a way to go but getting there
  21. Favorite 2 areas, looking forward to this
  22. 10W will handle the heat I think, do you know the coil resistance of the 4.5V motor?
