  1. Great little helicopter with the limited parts available. Great job!
  2. Epic! I like the old tires on the new rims. Also that boom reach is great.
  3. Good job again @SaperPL. Looks clean.
  4. I don't find 42139 very attractive, but functionally sufficient. Your four wheel version @Arioh looks great though. The blue is perfect for this version. Great job!
  5. Great job with this build @Gray Gear. The integration of the technic and system parts is very well done, and I can tell you spent a lot of time to get each part and placement just right. The transmission is very well executed. I love the role cage as well. This is a great detail. Thanks for making instructions available. I know how much is work it is to make those, so thanks for putting them together.
  6. Great updates. It's looking better and better. I like the range of motion for the boom, and the tires really look great on this. Keep it up!
  7. Thanks! Not easily. It would require a change to the suspension design, or a change to the pickup bed.
  8. Another MOD of mine of set 42126. This version takes the styling themes of 42126 SVT8 (above) and turns it back into a four door short bed variant. The lowered the body of 1.5 studs remains, as does the F-150 SVT8's hood, front and rear bumpers, and side sill updates. The F-150 SVT10 has the following features: Steering Four Wheel Independent Suspension V-10 Rear Wheel Drive Opening Doors, Tailgate, and Revised Hood Lowered Body Sport Wheels and Tires You may find instructions at Rebrickable.com. Below you can see the chassis, and the fact that all (!) my Black 11 Liftarms are currently in use. And the requisite video. Alright, I'm off to some non 42126 related projects.
  9. Yellow was the right choice.
  10. Great project! When a car question is asked, MX-5 is always the correct answer. I guess we can now apply that to LEGO. I'll watch this project closely, and I hope to see it come together well. I agree with your decision of the 8.4 scale, and I love those Batmobile tires. I hope the project goes well.
  11. This is a fun addition to the Raptor. The Yellow works well with the orange truck, and I like the details you included inside.
  12. What are the “7x17 knobs molded parts” used for the lattice?
  13. Great job on this MOC. I love these recreations of old sets, and you represented 8865 well. I'm glad to hear you have enjoyed getting back into LEGO.
  14. Very cool project. I like what you have so far, and the boom is looking great. I don't have any problem with the system parts.
  15. I should learn from you I need to step away from a computer a little more often. That would be awesome! Show a picture when you complete it. I wanted to try an old Canon/Elf livery, but other priorities got in the way. The technique has been fun. Thanks again for the idea. I hope you enjoyed the BMW, and I hope the weekend toy is getting faster and more reliable, with just the right amount of oversteer. Thanks! Glad you like it. Thanks for the comment. If I'm honest, the front suspension is the only part I don't like. I may try to incorporate your idea in v2. The current setup is ridged enough, though not locked in a way that I typically build. The 6L or 6.5L might work better, and it would get a better color match as well. Thanks for the idea. Yeah, the old suspension was really clever for what they had back then. It looks great, functions well, and is quite strong. I center those overlay renderings based on the axle of the wheel; usually the rear one, and then I adjust them so they have the same ground level. Particularly in these older sets, the wheel diameters are not consistent, so keeping the ground level consistent has been helpful for me. Yep, the old wheels look better, and I really like the profile. It would be great to have different size wheels front to back, but using currently available parts is kind of a rule I hold flexibly ridged. I'm glad you like the build.
  16. Yeah, I'm running an i7. It's not too bad as long as I plan to not use the machine for other tasks while it's running. I set it up when I go to bed, and it's usually done when I get home from work the next day. But, running more than about 1000 parts usually exceeds my what I'm able to put up with. @Jurss do you have a Studio file for your 8440? It would be cool to render all three of these (mine, yours, and 8440) together.
  17. Thanks for the idea. I'll add one to my list. Sorry @Jurss I should have mentioned you in the original post, as I referenced your great build through my process. It was a great build, and captured 8440 well. Thanks @gyenesvi The speed build is an option in Studio (under render, option Animation rather than Photoreal or POV-Ray). Be prepared, though. I am running a 2016 MacBook Pro with 2.7 GHz processor and an Animation nearly makes my computer explode. The 8440 render took about 23 hours for the 6 second 24 fps video. I tried to make one for the Ionos Sedan, it it took four days, then failed right at 96 percent completion. It takes a lot of power to run these. It's a really cool feature, but make sure you have the capacity to run it.
  18. I've been into the update of old sets in the last couple of years, so it was just a matter of time before I tried to update Set 8440 from 1995. Set 8440 is simple with only steering a V-6, and a rear differential, but I thought I could add some features. Turns out I really couldn't . I stared with building the original 8440 in studio, and making it trans light blue as introduced by @Seasider for TC20. I placed a couple of panels and wheels to get an idea of where to place the "hardpoints." The wheels would be a little bigger, but I felt it would be a good place to start. Off to work I went. I placed the panels early, and worked on the rear engine and transmission. I had hoped to add some sort of suspension, but lost interest in this part of the project. I kept spending time on the engine details and, for whatever reason, the front wing. Considering how these details would have had to be cut back to add a suspension, I'm happy with the direction I settled on. Eventually it came together, and I'm happy with how it turned out. (I'm trying new photo setup, and still have some kinks to work out) The engine cover is removable, and the front and rear wing are easily removable. I think it pays homage to the original 8440 well, but you can see the comparison below, and the final new over old overlay render (I really love these). A video to show off the few features of the build, and one of those fun little speed render builds. Enjoy. Finally, I have made free PDF instructions which you may find at Rebrickable.com. I'm trying to keep most of my builds free, so I hope you are able to enjoy them. It's an easy build with common parts, so if you need to scratch your nostalgia itch, go crazy. I'll take requests for other old sets to build, so let me know what I should do next.
  19. Alright, MOD number two of this set is done, and this time in the theme of one of the many silly American contributions: The sport truck. This is the F-150 SVT8. Instructions are at Rebrickable.com. This version takes the styling themes of 42126 and turns it into a two door short cab variant, and lowers the body by 1.5 studs. The F-150 SVT8 updates the hood, front and rear bumpers, and side sills. The F-150 SVT8 has the following features: Steering Four Wheel Independent Suspension Supercharged V-8 Rear Wheel Drive Opening Doors, Tailgate, and Revised Hood Lowered Body Sport Wheels and Tires And the Chassis view to see the revised suspension. Video here for the functions. Again, you can find instructions at Rebrickable should you desire to build this. I hope you like this version.
  20. Congratulations @2GodBDGlory, @Samolot, and @Jundis. Each of you deserved your wins after a long time of creating great MOCs. Congratulations to the rest of the participants as well, this was a tricky contest.
  21. Very cool build. So many great details, but I love the simple red stripe over the whole car.
  22. Looks very clean, and I love the front!
  23. Great job! I love that that the brush on the front can be easily removed. I also like how you change it from Manual to PF and back.
  24. I'll take all those 68.7 balloon tires from you. I love them. I do think the Batmobile tires are better, but it's taking a little time for me to fully integrate them into my building style.
