  1. I wish this was the presumption we operated under. We often assume a license raises the cost, and we do not know if this is always the case. Thanks for the reminder @kbalage
  2. Great job with build. I have recently become a fan of "system builds" that allow for interchangeability and flexibility, and I'm happy you took this approach with this build. It takes a lot of system thinking to make sure all compentants can work together and interchange. Good job, and I hope to see more like this in the future.
  3. @Jeroen Ottens Thanks for the side photo. It looks great from this angle. And boy do I love these wheels.
  4. Great to see another 8081 MOD. Keep 'em coming! I love the seats, and love that you can get 7 figures in the MOD. Did you make any changes to the drivetrain?
  5. Another great model! I appreciate the 1:10 scale just like @brunojj1. I like the way you did the little ducktail spoiler; one of my favorites parts of the new Supra. Do you have a picture from the side? Also, I remember how we gave TLG some guff for using the 42039 suspension in 42056, but it is a great design, and I'm happy to see it used here as well. Again, great job.
  6. Thanks, yeah, I love the blue. Glad you like the modular design and all the options. I really need to learn how to be decisive. Yeah, I get the comment on the bodywork. I realize it's not for everyone. Thanks for the thoughtful post. The body in the video is only attached by two points, but there are six connections points: two in the front above the front engine to the frame, two in the middle that attaches to the floorpan (as seen in the video), and two at the rear to the suspension towers. It all ties together firm and well. With each added part the car gets stiffer. Thanks for the comments on the bodywork, and I'm pleased with it. Yeah, the part behind the rear wheels took me too much time, and they are still not perfect. I'll do something better on the next build. Again, thanks for the comments.
  7. Great job. I agree the fender extenders as stand alone fenders is great.
  8. Yeah, I went really deep down the modularity rabbit hole. I agree, the blue is my favorite. And the manual with the hybrid motor. I'm happy I stuck with it. Thanks for the praise. I'm happy you like it, and were willing to watch the whole video. I know, I get tired of all the two doors..... I'm glad to share the instructions.
  9. Alright, after about a year, and 6 months after when I wanted it to be, this project is finally done. It may not be my most popular MOC, but it certainly is one of the ones I am most proud of, right up there with my Spitfire. This project started with the Defender wheels, and a desire to make a 1:10 scale sport sedan. My indecisiveness meant that I was willing to try a modular and options based approach to the car. And since most modern cars are made this way I thought it would be fun to see if this could work. Additionally, many of my recent builds are MOCs with lots of options that can be added to modify the MOC, so I was well prepared. The car is 25 studs wide in the front, 27 at the rear with a 33 stud wheelbase. The car is 53 studs long. Each version has independent suspension front and rear, four doors, opening truck and bonnet, and steering with both a HOG and a cabin steering wheel. The full flickr album is here. Instructions are free an my be found at Rebrickable. I organized them as Red AWD Sequential, Dark Azure RWD Manual, and a V-8 for the RWD. I have all the studio files, so if you need something specific, PM me. Then there are options. Lots. AWD Hybrid, RWD, I6, V8, Red, Dark Azure, Manual, and Sequential. Each is interchangeable. Two engine tubs allow for RWD or AWD. The RWD tub will accept a V-8 or and I6 engine. The AWD tub has a fake hybrid unit with a flat 6 fake engine. Two transmissions options are available, and both with connect with 6 pins to either engine tubs. A 4 speed manual or a 4 speed sequential transmission is available. The manual shifts in the cabin, and the sequential shifts with a lever on the rear bumper. Red and Dark Azure bodies are available. Both fit, but the bottom inside bolsters of the right seats need to be removed to allow the sequential transmission tunnel a little room. Below is the I6 Manual. The black wheels look best, but I had to try the new light bluish grey ones. The video is a little long, but I wanted to show everything. Sorry for all my fingers. I had a lot of fun with the MOC. I hope you enjoy as well.
  10. Great update to a great set @GerritvdG. I like how you kept the feel and functions of the original. The tire look ok to me, but the 68mm tire @anyUser look great. Thanks for sharing the free instructions.
  11. I don't know, it feels like we are getting a lot of new parts these days (can somebody quantify this?). Sure, maybe not the ones we want, but goodness the amount of new tires I got this year compared to years past does impress me. Additionally, 42130 has a lot of great new parts. I tend to give TLG more credit as they seem to know their business very well. Even if it causes us some disappointment. I would never characterize TLG as lazy. Their capacity to produce is crazy, but rather their priorities are different than ours.
  12. Yeah this statement caused me question as well as I'm sure I have some in LBG in addition to the light grey. I'll have to check when I get home. Far be it from me to question Bricklink, but LBG started to come on the scene in about 2004. The last set to use this part in light grey was started in 2004 (9794 for instance has all parts as LBG except for the Cam). So it wouldn't be surprising to me that the color transition took place and Bricklink (I can't believe I'm saying this) missed the change for a couple sets. Either way, the additional of this part is a welcome addition. I love those little cams.
  13. @Erik Leppen I get your point, but I think I would say function follows form more than in the past where form follows function. I still don't think I would call it a cosmetic theme. Maybe that will change for me. I certainly like new parts. I now tend to only buy new parts rather than new sets, so I'm excited about the shock and other parts.
  14. Thanks @Milan for one of the better reviews I have seen on Eurobricks. Also, this was the first set I have gotten my first image from Eurobricks; no leaks, no candies, no official announcements, just first impressions from Eurobricks as it should be. Like the Ducati, this set has some great new parts, and I look forward to using them in the future. I'm still trying to figure out the angles of the pin holes in the windscreen. I look forward to an element writeup for this part in New Elementary. The functions are good enough for the market, and I'm sure we will be able to improve the gearbox. Thanks again for the review, and I'm happy this set has been designed and made available to us.
  15. I used the 5 diameter in my MOD. I still have not seen the 4.2ish steering wheel yet.
  16. I'm not holding my breath. I think the 42056 Porsche was the last time we got any news from the toy fairs. Was that 3 year ago now?
  17. My guess, it is has a liftarm on the axle that normally spins around, but gets caught on the lever when it's in the correct position.
  18. I finally spent some time going through this thread and reading all the updates. I'm impressed with the creativity of this MOC, and the execution of the functions. The details of the steering, the moving jet engine, and the way the wings both fold and cover the hood are all great. I look forward to seeing the continued development. Now maybe a little little color in one of your MOCs @2GodBDGlory?
  19. Can anyone tell what part is used for the piston?
  20. I agree. I think they did great on the styling for the scale. It looks more recognizable to me than the Corvette did. And I love the lime!
  21. I would also like to see steering and a drivetrain on the Mustang, but the bodywork looks pretty good for this scale. Also the "launch level" is kindof neat.
  22. I also like the new panel, but any idea if they will match with anything like the new 71682 matches with 11946?
  23. In addition to other issues mentioned, 42126 is not realistic in the placement of the rear axle pivot point. F-150s have a long driveshaft with a U-Joint far forward, and another U-Joint just forward of the rear axle. I tried to change this is my 4x4 version, which makes the axle movement more correct.
