The leopard is spot on indeed! The dry look of the vegetation is really nice, and so is the vulture!

[COR - SEP FB] Celestia Royal Sugar Plantation (LDD)
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Not necessarily so textured, but my first try would definitely be SNOT like this: Your example goes in farther but that shouldn't be too difficult to achieve, I'd think. The alt-brick green doesn't look bad, but standard green might look better. I think the difference between shape of the LEGO and alt-bricks one would look good on the canes.- 18 replies

Very cool series Ayrlego! My favorites are probably the Eslandian baron, the Sea Rat Captain (the lime feather works so surprisingly well!) and the Garvey soldier! Really quick work on getting this out here! Looking forward to seeing who keeps the ball rolling from here!

[COR - OCT FB] Royal Post Office, Camp Isaac
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build Ayrlego, I love the idea of a jungle PO! The stilts effect is really cool, and great work on the jungle flora! I really like the round window above the porch roof, too. And as I said on Flickr, interesting use of broken tiles... I have a few of those myself, so I'll have to keep that in mind! -
Very nice series Elos! I think I like the Oleon three best actually, for some reason. We need a yellow series, though!

I like this idea. I prefer the numbers for the actual tags. And as far as it goes, I voted squares, but I'd be quite content if we ended up going rounds (not looking that way atm, though, but it's fairly close still).

Neat micro, some cool part uses... I particularly like the upside-down engine type piece on the large tower toward the front!

Voted. It's too difficult IMO to tell the difference between the gold and the bronze... obvious enough next to each other, but probably pretty difficult in isolation.

Whoa... this is huge! Great job on the open structure... and the curve of the roof inside is so cool! I love that flag too. And the cranes are great! Lots of detail too!

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II

Rats indeed! To jump in on the square vs. circle debate, there's not much to choose between them, both are great, but the squares may just edge it out for me! -

I really like the use of black for the statue! Very eye-catching! The tile with the sticker is also nicely done, adds a lot to the vig!- 10 replies

Another epicly massive KB ship! The subtle slope of the sides towards the back is great, and there's so much detail! Your sails and rigging is amazing as always! -

Great little vig, SK, looks suitably solitary! The snow is fantastic as always, and nice use of dark red on the shrine! Cool to see such a unique aspect of Mitgardian culture!

[COR - SEP FB] Celestia Royal Sugar Plantation (LDD)
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Fantastic plantation, I love how you did so many different scenes! Really interesting learning that they burn the sugar cane before harvest... That grand residence is awesome! - but the "accommodation block" is also really good - I particularly like the use of bars on top and on the bottom for the porch. Looking forward to seeing a sugar mill with those telescope pieces!- 18 replies

An excellent addition to the cocoa factory endeavor, I like the use of lime green on the floor and for the palm trees too! Very nice cart also, and the building fits perfectly with the others of this collab!

[WTC Minichallenge] Elementary, my dear Hudson...
Kai NRG replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great series of builds, Bregir! I particularly like the Oleon scene, but the last one of Herlock and Hudson is also very nice! Good work picking up the loose threads of a very complicated series of events, too!- 12 replies

Welcome to GoH and Kaliphlin, @skitkid! -
Really cool build Ayrlego, with the floor all in light grey it looks perfectly suitable to the rest of the MOC, and the jungle in the background adds so much! The pillars look great too!

[WIP] Myzec Throne Room - WIP/Build Log
Kai NRG replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would suggest doing only two tones for the floor, or at most three - I'm not sure the olive (and dark green) is an improvement (some olive in there, other than cheese slopes, might be good... now it looks almost as if it were built in rather than growing). Those who have said that a cracked style for a throne room, even if native, doesn't make intuitive sense (although it could look great!) have a point... perhaps doing the lower, larger one cracked and the higher one with only a few aging marks (probably better aging marks other than cracks however - studs, grooves between plates and tiles, that sort of thing - to clearly differentiate the floor) might do away with that problem while keeping the coolness of a cracked floor. It would also help make the perfectly smooth stairs more reasonable. In any case breaking those up with some texture might be good. I'm thinking of the stairs in this recent build. The circle behind the throne is great. I suggest trying to find a way to make the dark red flow a bit over the throne. This has the shapings of a great MOC, that's for sure! -
Excellent ship Titus, I particularly like the detailing on the stern, but the prow is also very well done!

Garvey may not have gained much from the war with Mardier, but bear in mind that they didn't attack Mardier to help us out. They were already at war with Mardier (i.e., a challenge between Mardier and Garvey was already planned, as you know). We have no reason to reward them; in fact, they should reward us. Do you think Garvey would have won their little war without Eslandola's help? What did they do for us? How many Garvians built last challenge? Sure, we could shower down empty titles, but not much point in that. But I'm all for a:

Check out the About Ships page (Master Index). I was wondering the same thing, but all that the stats do is explained there (took me a while to find it though!). Edit: oh, by the way, it's you can travel your range + 1 zone, if I recall correctly.
