UoP +1 for all four claims. Nice job merging the rock and building.

The University of Petraea's Doctorate of Historica Program
Kai NRG replied to NiceMarmot's topic in Guilds of Historica
Just went through a whole bunch of MOCs and gave several credits. Please let me know if anyone I haven't approved/disapproved yet is still pending! @DM, I'll give you the credits for West Inner MP in time of celebration, but I don't quite see the Lake of the Trapped Warriors as qualifying for still water. Seems a bit bumpy for that. The rest are in their own threads.- 343 replies

Wow, very barren and desolate looking. Great job creating the right feel. Love all the SNOT rock. You certainly are a master at that!

Avalonian Second Task: Departing for Albion
Kai NRG replied to Gilbert Despathens's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'll give you UoP credit for roof, walls, and rocks, but I don't think the water there is quite enough to claim river scene, especially as you just have one bank, and no indications of another one. Since you posted the credits in a rather late comment it's likely that they went under the radar a bit. I'd suggest posting in the UoP thread or in the Kali thread (or both), + editing the first post here.- 26 replies

Love that water technique. Nice use of logs for the deck too!

Great work on this ship Thomas, especially like the sloped sides, very realistic. I'll give you UoP credits for both shipping by sea and minifig posing (or do you already have enough? I lost track). I'd give you waves too, because personally I think using the sheet was pretty ingenious, but it seems there's not much chance of you getting four for that anyways.

Great work Thomas, good job portraying the burnt house and the story is well done! Edit: Forgot about the credits. +1 for all of them. -

Definitely looks like a speedy sailor! A very unique ship, in a good way. Great use of the good/bad cop head, also like the use of the Mixel eyes! For some reason the second sail seems a touch oversized to me... maybe it's just the angle it's at. How sturdy is it? Strikes me as though the prow especially is a bit delicate!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Kai NRG replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
That's a tough question. I'd aim for both but try to do the challenge II first. -
If it's already cloudy it would be a good idea to do it outside of the house shade. I usually find that a lightly cloudy day - just enough to cast very light shadow - is the best. On a sunny day though, shade from your house ought to work well.

You've really got your own unique style, pretty neat! Like that siding technique, going to have to try it out one of these days! +1 for the credits, it would be helpful if you edited your post to include the claim. Just a comment on your photography, it's pretty sharp but could use a bit of brightening up. Where are you taking the pictures? Outside in the shade or on a cloudy day usually yields the best results (at least so I've found).

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Kai NRG replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Oh . He owes me half the title anyway! (JK, though he did borrow some pieces...) I'll tell him to get right on it! -
Another great ship from you Gabe, the shaping on the stern especially turned out great, and the sail is a really nice touch. My favorite part though would be the water, love the foamy ripples and even more the use of trans green!
-
Neat little boat! Like Gabe said, the sail curve is really nice! +1 for the Petraea University credit. It would probably be a good idea to edit the claim into your post.

Congrats! May you carry Mitgardia's arms throughout Historica keep them right where they are. -
Very nice little house here Wedge, I especially like that you did an interior. +1 for both those credits from me!

Wow, that rockwork is just fantastic, so is the posing. The lava river really adds to the scene as well. Amazing build! Just one tiny nitpick, the green line visible at the bottom detracts ever so slightly from the rest IMHO, that would be pretty easy to get rid of if you extend the border out an extra stud. I personally would have liked to see a picture of the whole thing without the edges cropped, something to keep in mind for future photography maybe.
