  1. Good work on the cart, but I especially like the landscaping and irregular base!
  2. Great build Captain Flint, I especially like that roof but the landscaping is also very good! Like the inclusion of the owl!
  3. Really cute! Like the first picture's background as well!
  4. The steampunk theme is great! So is the concept...
  5. Another great build, I like the activity that's going on, and the water is really very nice and peaceful looking! The wall angles are great too!
  6. Very clever! Probably the only reason for that yolk going through was because it was broken during the cracking process... not a problem with the machine so much!
  7. Didn't notice the UoP claims... +1 on those!
  8. Great job on the stone arches! The round shape is really neat as well!
  9. Great build, those attic rafters are some of the best I've ever seen, and I also like the way you did the chimney. As mccoyed said, the spy prying up the floor boards is really good as well. Excellent posing.
  10. Great idea! I wonder what will happen to the distracting dwarves once the elves find out though...
  11. Well, look at this rockwork, for example (LD's). That's a bit more curved than you'd want, of course. Basically, my rule of thumb for rockwork is no more than one stud without a slope (until you get to the top at least). Two studs is probably fine. But especially from that last angle, I'm seeing a lot of long straight lines. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but sloping it more would improve it.
  12. Here are a couple codes: Princess: 9T6-KRS-DGT-EKW (25) Prospector: US3-XAK-4SR-KNV (which, yes, does seem to be 29 - unless this is the Hun, that being the sheet it could have got confused with) Should have a second princess, space miner, and a few huns around somewhere, so if someone really wants one of those let me know and I'll see if I can find them.
  13. 5 and 11 would be my definite favorites now!
  14. Thanks! The minifigures are certainly an important part of the set!
  15. As with anything else, practice makes faster, if not perfect, so over time you're likely to get faster at building. Having everything sorted is a definite help! I find it easy enough to get an hour in here, another hour in there. If you don't watch TV, play video games, or spend too much time on the web, that really gives you a deal of extra time in the day. If you start small, you'll likely find that your collection grows, and eventually you'll be able to build larger. I'm not sure exactly how large you're thinking but, if you know where to get them, most pieces are fairly inexpensive in bulk (Bricklink is great, as are PaB cups). If you're just buying sets, yes you're likely to have to cough up a fortune, but thankfully that's not necessary! I usually tear my builds down almost immediately after photography. That helps with the collection size, as I don't tie any pieces up!
  16. Nice work, particularly with the 'spokes' of the waterwheel, I like that technique! The roof is nice as well. The rockwork, however, looks a bit artificial; too many straight edges. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the sudden transition in water styles, but I do like the SNOT waterfall!
  17. Have you tried putting the shields in front of the minifigure in the middle of each group? I think that might work well.
  18. Personally, I'd enter the first and last ones. I agree with SarahJoy, the flags create additional clutter and artificial breaks without adding a whole lot.
  19. Great work, the olive green and the tilt really make this stand out! Love the inclusion of the seagull!
  20. Great work! Those backgrounds are really nice, I especially like your use of perspective on the Kali one. The overall banner looks pretty good too. It does seem a bit crowded but as long as the words aren't put there (which they aren't on the current banner) that shouldn't be much of a problem. (Though the search box might get in the way.)
  21. As other's have mentioned, that tree is great, especially the lower part and the gnarly roots! I do like the top section of the house but I have to agree with you that it doesn't seem to fit so well for some reason. Personally I think the stonework could be improved without the dk tan, but I've never been a fan of mixing light bley and dk tan, so that's not surprising! I do think that it's a little odd to find a tree house that's built partially out of stone, especially at such a height - I'd imagine stones that large would be pretty far away (since nothing grows too well in a rocky soil), and of course it would be quite a challenge to get them up there!
  22. The rockwork here is especially well done. I really like how you made it sort of merge into the border, and the half border/half irregular base really works great! That plant off to the side looks quite menacing! Good job on the shaping of the tree, you managed to make it look unusual but not impossible, though the way the raven lady is hanging up there does seem a bit flimsy. For the story, I'd say go with 1a!
  23. Great job here, especially with the roof! I have to say I kind of like the hump in the thatch, even if it isn't so realistic. The building itself has a very Mitgardian shape to it! I do think introducing a few less colors might have been more effective - say only light grey and two shades of brown, rather than all that and tan. Good work nonetheless!
  24. Good work with the statue vitroleum, the posing is excellent and gives it lots of character, especially the raised arms and the cape. +1 for both the credits!
  25. Fantastic ship, the shaping is excellent and so are those sails! The water is really nice as well, and so are the on board details!
