  1. You're not trying to be punny are you? I was thinking this myself...
  2. There is definitely a social-economic divide between pirates and soldiers... an interesting twist would a soldiers base that wasn't constructed from bricks and mortar. Like a stockade for example.
  3. There was this one time at Template of Doom when...
  4. Nay, I don't buy em, I plunders em off other ships!
  5. One of the thing that really sells inserting physical LEGO into a CGI environment is the environmental effects. The LEGO isn't casting a shadow nor does the reflection on the water look right. That's too areas you could strive to improve.
  6. So has anyone attempted to build a MOC of this ship?
  7. This is a very informative and entertaining review! You've managed to present the set and communicate all the key information so succinctly. The production values are topnotch - I must say I'm impressed! I'll be sure to checkout more of these reviews when time permits.
  8. Yes, please add lights to Pirates Perilous Pitfall.
  9. Yes... they're terrible!
  10. If we don't sticky this thread it'll eventually disappear out of sight!
  11. Lad, yer need a promo image at the top to draw people in!
  12. One guy writes he's heard a rumour and everyone gets excited...
  13. So what the film industry has been calling "Pan and Scan" for decades... It must be a proprietary Apple term and since I haven't used Apple products in years I've remained unaware of its use. According to Wikipedia...
  14. Well it's nicely presented, but without voice acting and animation it's probably going to have limited appeal. And aside from a filmmaker, exactly what are "ken burns"?
  15. Let it be noted the 6250 Crossbone Clipper was only released in Northern America and therefore had a non-shooting cannon by default, even though all box art and catalogue images depict it with a shooting cannon. The reason some second-hand market purchases have a shooting cannon is because the original cannon was replaced.
  16. Yes, I am very pleased with our latest recruits... but we'll be needing more! A lot more in the future...
  17. Our pirate empire is rapidly expanding! We shall rise to great heights once more! Long live the Imperial Armada! Ummmm... I mean Classic-Pirates.com and the Eurobricks LEGO Pirates Forum!
  18. Visit Classic-Pirates.com NOW! If you've been following Classic-Pirates.com for the past 6 months you may have noticed it was down, then there was a "Coming Soon..." page then there was a basic landing page featuring the "Latest MOCs". Now there is a more substantial homepage and access to the old MOC archives. Next we'll be working on updating those archives to the new format and turning them into dynamic MOC Indices. But you still might be wondering... WHAT IN BLAZES is happening??? Classic-Pirates.com is being rebuilt from the ground up so we're rolling out new features intermittently and without warning! That means you'll have to check regularly to see the changes. There will also be loads of Easter Eggs! Hidden stuff, not chocolate. Already there are 4 hidden things... go find them! When you do, take a screenshot and it in this thread. And there will also be loads of bugs... Please note we will not be supporting older browsers. This shouldn't be an issue for most, unless you use Internet Explorer, so if you really must use IE, then you'll need version 11 or things won't work. We're also aware of the issue with the MOC carousel on mobile devices and this will be completely revised in a future update. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To answer some questions from the Why is Classic-Pirates.com down? thread. "Interactive" doesn't implicitly mean game, it just mean something has interactive features. The question is mostly answered above but to clarify further, the new Classic-Pirates.com will eventually offer the same content as the previous version but there will be a lot of hidden interactivities. Yes, you're extremely wrong! Classic-Pirates.com WIILL NOT post to Facebook on your behalf. There will be features which enable you to manually share content to your favourite social media but only this will only happen if you're the one doing it. Applications can only spam your Facebook feed if you grant them permission - out of common sense never do this! Classic-Pirates.com now has a Settings Panel which allow you to disable the water effect. On the desktop version click on the cog in the top-left corner and select Disable water effect on background in the pop-up.
  19. Two things... This is more of a discussion thread so it should be posted in the Main Pirate Forum. Somewhere buried in the forum is a thread called "Buying Pirate LEGO - advice, tips and questions". As we probably don't need a new thread specifically for your question, this thread will be merged with the aforementioned in the near future.
  20. Yes, all hail Lord Phred!
  21. Did you want to add an actual poll for this thread? And do you have exciting plans for the findings?
  22. Probably using the yellow in an attempt to invoke the nostalgia of the boxes from the very first pirate sets...
  23. I think the minifigure colours are too bright and I have every single set of the original pirates theme!
  24. I know the onwer!
