  1. Very well then... So to make myself useful in this thread I shall pester Mr Norrington some more... You still haven't told us the orgin of the HMS Sabre. X-D
  2. Yes, we have found you! We like to have the MOC creators joining us to discuss to their MOCs because the creator will usually provide some insight into the MOC that we would be unaware of otherwise. So its great that you could join us. Do you have any updates on your Victory style ship? And what do you model in 3D? (I suppose the answer to that will make itself present when we see the website)
  3. I'm pressed to make a small scale let alone a life size model. Though a soldier 2 metres tall would seem to be larger than life size. Not too many lads in the Imperial army that tall as far as I'm aware. But never mind that. Somewhere I have a picture of a 3D LEGO sculpture I could post in this thread. I must remember to dig it out.
  4. However, you're still paying money to acquire your pirates are you not? So unless you're obtaining them for free you're still spending money on Pirate LEGO regardless of whether you other sell LEGO. This is like me claiming pirates don't cost me anything, since I design websites for the things that I keep. Our source of incomes are obviously different, but the principal is the same.
  5. That's just my opinion, so don't change it because of what I think. But what you can do is save it as a different file and then change it, this way you'll have two version. But before you make any changes read it out loud, if you haven't already done so - I'm leaning towards no but I'll ask just in case: have you read it out loud yet?
  6. You're quite the detective Governor Broadside, so bravo! You may contact him if you wish as its always good to have the master builder here providing us with information about the MOC we wouldn't receive otherwise.
  7. I find this story quite difficult to read because the sentences are so short, in fact I'm not sure they have the appropriate structure to be classified as sentences. Because of this the flow is very stilted and somewhat annoying. To me it seems like this should be set up like a children's book with a picture on every page then the short sentence underneath it. Is there any particular reason for having sentences which are so short?
  8. Good work for informing us Governor Broadside. Where can we acquire the Ultimate LEGO Book? The picture isn't that big so we can post it directly into the thread!
  9. You're better off acquiring them from across the channel. The auctions for Imperial Guards in that region seem ridiculously cheap to me.
  10. It'll be tips on how to get the most out of your threads. So it'll provide information on the best way to start and maintain a thread so it attracts the most responses possible.
  11. Keep on fire truckin!
  12. I wouldn't have a clue actually. I'll have to do some research into it at a later date. So do we know who is building this ship?
  13. But leaving the top layer would make it too high, wouldn't it? I'm just going by the picture, but I suppose it depends how closely you want to match that.
  14. Surely some aspects of this tutorial needs improving! If not, I'll begin writing the next tutorial...
  15. Where did HMS Sabre originate from though?
  16. For a moment I had a Freudian slip and was about to ask what a "Victory style" ship was and then it clicked. So to prevent other potential Freudian slips here's a picture of the Victory.
  17. Mr Filz this is fascinating news! Do you have any of these photographs digitized enabling you to post them in this thread? If not, do you know the name of this lighthouse so we could find actual pictures of it in Google image search or something similar?
  18. Ah yes Mr Oo7, I think I know what the reference is now - I did see that movie... Ummm... Ummm... Many moons ago... Enough moons to forget what happened in it... As for Admiral Starwind's MLcad design... The black bricks around the stern are built too high, he should remove the top layer and replace them with yellow plates (or SNOTs) because I think that make it look more like the actual Lady Washington. I have more feedback, however I shall wait for Admiral Starwind to respond on what I've written first.
  19. I'm the one who suggested to use the Technic axels!!! What are you thanking ZCerberus for!!! But what does this mean? That you're going to abandon The YARR-ship?
  20. Ok you can be Captain ZCerberus then! :-D But when will you have more progress reports on the Arbiter?
  21. I don't have any ships!!! :'-( So I'll ask questions instead. What's the story behind the sinking of the HMS Unpredictable? i.e. the fictional reason, not the fact you needed to dismantle it because you needed the parts and space.
  22. Lets put this into perspective: 150 Euros converts to about $236 in the local currency, so that's $59 per week. I find it difficult to determine exactly how much because the majority of LEGO I purchase is from eBay and my approach is to prey upon "part auctions" that receive little or no bids. Then to keep postage costs down I get the seller to hold the LEGO for me (sometimes up to a year) before they send it, so I can accumulate a large lot. But I'd say it would be about 150 Euro per month if averaged out over the entire year.
  23. Aye Carumba! What's your LEGO collection doing on the other side of the world Col. Whipstick? As for the story... I've reformatted it so its easier to read but I might have made the text too big for users with smaller monitors so someone will need to let me know if the size needs changing. Now Imperial Scouts, are you looking for feedback or questions regarding your story? I've got plenty, but I'm going to check first before I begin firing them off.
  24. Anyone care for a Black Pearl?
