  1. Yes, our second of team of monkeys is far more elite!
  2. Yes! That's exactly how it went down!
  3. It seems the monkeys were deavoured by gators... A fresh team of monkeys has been dispacted to look into the problem...
  4. This should be blogged at once! Oh... that's right....
  5. Yes, there is a team of highly trained monkeys working on this... But please remember, they are only monkeys!
  6. It's probably no concidence the LEGO Group is releasing a new Pirates theme 6 years after the 2009 theme given its age rage is 7-12. They're now marketing to a whole new "generation" of children so they can afford to recycle the ideas that sell best.
  7. You mean 70411 Treasure Island? A leaked image of the box art is floating around but since it's watermarked we cannot post it here.
  8. Recently we were informed Classic-Pirates.com will not have a LEGO Ambassador beyond 2014 so we conducted a poll to determine whether we should continue our Design a NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme Project should continue. Over 90% of participants voted we should continue the project so now we need determine the best way to continue. The downside of managing this project voluntarily is I cannot always keep the project moving forward and sometimes there are significant delays. So what is the best way to inform everyone when the project requires input? Subscribe to the Project Overview Thread Subscribe to a special Mailing List for the project Follow the project via the Classic-Pirates.com Facebook page Follow the project via Classic-Pirates.com on Twitter By far the easiest method would be for everyone to subscribe the Overview Thread, then when action is required all I need to do is post an update in that thread and it will be Emailed to everyone according to their subscription settings. However, that may not suit everyone so are there any other ideas?
  9. We've already seen the box art for the 2015 LEGO Pirate Sets but now images of the actual sets have been released. Check them out in our 2015 LEGO Pirates rumors and discussion thread. UPDATE!!! The identity of 70411 Treasure Island has been a mystery for some time but now images have been released! Visit 2015 LEGO Pirates rumors and discussion thread for more images. Also included is the previously unseen 10679 Pirate Treasure Hunt... Plus Lomis has provided some fantastic 3D renders of what the sets could look like once built, here is his concept for 70412 Soldiers Fort combined with 70410 Soldiers Outpost. Visit the 2015 LEGO Pirates rumors and discussion thread right now!
  10. 70413 The Brick Bounty 70412 Soldiers Fort 70410 Soldiers Outpost 70409 Shipwreck Defense 10679 Treasure Hunt
  11. We don't actually know who these blue coat minifigs are yet. An older, modernised version of Governor Broadside was included in the 6242 Soldier's Fort, 10210 Imperial Flagship and the 2009 Pirate's Battle Pack. His identity was confirmed in the LEGO Battles video games... .
  12. DarthKy has Emailed me about help getting supporters for this project - I've replied his Email but I'm concerned the reply may have gone way of his Junk/Spam Email folder. Are we able to discuss promotion ideas in this thread?
  13. Classic-Pirates.com was registered as a standalone community but the issue is the forum is located at Eurobricks. So unless we relocate the forum or start a new one on Classic-Pirates.com there's nothing we can do. Both options have been discussed and we've determined the LEGO Pirates Forum will be more successful as part of Eurobricks.
  14. Eventually... There are also plans for a banner with the pirate related minifigs from the Minfigure Series... Time to create these banners does not usually permit however.
  15. The LEGO Group has decided Classic-Pirates.com Community shall be represented by the Eurobricks LEGO Ambassador and does not require an Ambassador of its own. I no longer have time to be a LEGO Ambassador to the best of my ability so I shall make no effort to appeal their decision. We do however, have the Design a NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme in progress, so we have the choice of: Abandon the project. Continue the project for as long as it takes and hope the Eurobricks Ambassador will be kind enough to submit it for us. So I'll put that the above poll - now you decide...
  16. You're right, but I'm holding off while the ramifications are discussed... Now there is an official statement and poll, so check that out...
  17. Yes, news of the 2015 LEGO Pirates Theme took focus over this project, however... I have some unfortunate news!
  18. Thank you, these look good, however we'll need commander and leader torso designs in the same style, so if you've got those, feel free to share. We'll focus on the front first and then look into the back while we're tweaking the chosen design.
  19. Can someone do a minifig render using these torsos by Lind Whisperer? Either would be great for a Guard Captain. I concur! Could one of you talented lads with 3D rendering skills please produce renders of these torso designs?
  20. As The_Cook noted in an earlier post, the LEGO Group is already doing that with Castle and City, although they did do something more original with the Forest Fire Fighters sub-theme which was actually proposed by a LEGO Ambassador. So I'm hoping our Design your LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme Ambassador Project provides the LEGO Group with a similar inspiration/motivation for Pirates in the future.
  21. I've got everything... All the sets (built plus one or two MISB spares)... Battle Pack... Tic Tac Toe... Chess... Playing Cards... T Shirt... Advent Calendar... and whatever else I've fogotten...
  22. Well it's definitely better than what LEGO Pirates have been getting for the past 16 years.
  23. It's a sensible business model but not very promising in terms of innovation and remaining on the cutting edge of pirate theme construction toys. Unfortunately I've fallen out of the City and Castle loop in recent years, but you're a top analysis man, so I trust your judgement. Still, the Forest Fire Fighters sub-theme was conceived by a LEGO Ambassador so maybe there is hope for our Design your LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme Ambassador Project. Alternating between Castle and Pirates would be great for LEGO Pirates since there haven't been consistent releases since before 1998, but unfortunate for LEGO Castle.
  24. One may postulate since LEGO Pirates core demographic is 7-12 year old males, the LEGO Group intends upon recycling similar set ideas every 5 years, because after 5 years that "generation" of children is no longer in the core demographic so the same ideas can be re-used on the next "generation". I very much hope I'm wrong about that!
