  1. Yeah so much for a 100 bucks, I,m not a big fan of cars. Well not a fan of building them I should say, but I see a lot of good parts in this set too. I could use a set of hubs, like to build a razor sometime. Dan
  2. this I gotta see to believe, LOL. I dont have anywhere that much and I,m about out of room. I really have my heart set on the 42009, gonna make room one way or another< LOL.
  3. I buy a set, build it, then after a while I take it apart and the pieces get put in the inventory like all the rest. I can go back and build it again any time I want, but its not quite the same as opening a box and having all those clear plastic bags. And as S.I said I go to brick link for the parts I dont have. you order what you need and that's it Dan
  4. That is pretty freaking sweet !!! Dan
  5. I was at TRU last night, they have them for 129.99 I do believe, but it could have been 139.99. I picked up a 42006 for 89.99. Dan
  6. I did this last year with Han's XL version, built the XL lower then built the 8053 with a longer boom. Come out pretty good, I have some pics, see if I can get them on here for you guys Dan
  7. That D-9 is sweet, very well done, and accurate. Wish I was that good, LOL. Dan
  8. I read about this move a while ago, they laid down 8 feet of dirt over the road way so the weight of it would'nt tear up the road as it crossed. the thing is enormous, to really get an idea of how big it is you have to stand next to it. I think one could build it, in LEGo, but the scale would have to me real small, and even then its gonna be big. Dan
  9. If some one took the time to do it, I bet you could cnc a part out of aluminum. Brick Machine Shop is already doing a nice actuator, might be the next big step in LEGO. Dan
  10. It would be a great addition to the two we have now, we would still have uses for the currant one, but when things get big we have a larger one to fall on. Dan
  11. Even at 90 dollars, thoses actuators are gonna be awesome for large cranes. I may have to spend the coin and get one. Dan
  12. I think It will be a good set, but I,ll wait till the instructions are on TLG so I can get a better idea if this is true or not. Even then I think I,ll be getting one if not two. Stop and think about it, if its truely a 2600 piece set, at 220 dollars, that's a pretty good deal price per piece wise. My only real complaint is why can't they put yellow rims on it, and I do agree. They need to come up with a better turn table if there gonna continue to release big sets like this. Dan
  13. Well if your not gonna spend 200 dollars on the set , then quit complaining about it already !! Dan
  14. It looks like it has a 8 with stop axle in it, but the thing is not attached anywhere else so it would just spin around, or they are using it as a washer ? Dan
  15. Oh yeah I see what he,s talking about, might be a 3 x 5 frame. What do you think of the black things ahead of it on either side of the dif. ?
  16. Gonna be interesting when we see the end result in Aug. I did'nt see the clutch gear was missing till just now, LOL. You have a better eye than me, LOL. The more I look at this set, the more I can't wait till Aug. for it, and I,m deffinately gonna have to buy two, and a bunch of yellow rims also. Dan I,d go along with that also, one has to wonder if they rush these things out for the verious shows around the world and sometimes things don't get assembled correctly. Like I said before we saw that in the F car, now look what we have since its out. Dan Speaking of colors, be nice if they would make the 1 3x3 T piece in yellow, the lbg on the top of the boom holding the shaft for the worm gear sticks out like a sore thumb
  17. I,m thinking the same thing only in black, the picture is a bit blurry from the glass. I dont see this new frame though, have to look more closely at it. Dan
  18. His picture from under neath through the glass shelf, might just be glare and distortion. And yes the panel is crooked, but also it has no pins in it at the rear if you notice. I,d say your right on it being a bad build, might also explain why the panels are missing on the top half at the back. if it was shipped assembled, it may have come apart and no one knew how to put it back together, LOL. Dan LOL, look closely at the under side picture and notice the double leanth pin with bushings are not all the way in also, I,m talking at the rear bumper area. Dan
  19. I,ve built a few things that were all my own, but lately I,ve been taking sets and just modding them into bigger models making them better, just adding my own personal touches to an other wise boring normal set, LOL. Dan
  20. Does it say 219.99 MSRP ? I,ve seen a few different pictures and have yet to see one clear enought to see the MSRP on the display card. Also, did anyone notice the funny black pieces where the drive axle is for the fake motor, looks like something new. Dan
  21. This is not all that far fetched, it would be a interesting thing to have for some applications. I dont have a problem feeding all the wire sets needed to run something through one, you just have too remember you can't just keep spinning it in the same direction indefinately
  22. Theres a site on FB called Heavy Cranes, you can get a good idea. I,m with a few that TLG modeled the 42009 after a Liebherr , not this monster though, but it would have been a fun build, LOL. I guess I buy enough of them I can build this one. Dan
  23. Yes your seeing that right, but also theres no piece count on the box. I wonder where the 2600 piece number came from, unless someone asked the right question in the UK toy show The missing panels dont bother me, remember the F-1 car that showed up on Ebay was not put together right either. I would put money on the real boxes have not even been put together yet for this set, its only Feb. Dan
  24. That is very cool, had to be a fun build considering you had only pictures to go by. I,m with DLuders, be interesting to have a side by side pic of it and the 8421 Dan
  25. The 8053 is'nt a bad set, the scale is small. One thing I,ve been thinking about building is a larger version comparable to the 8421. Also remember here in the states is was only 100 bucks, now its double that on Ebay for a NISB issue. I think the 42009 is gonna be one of those sets people will talk about for a long time after it's retired just like the 8421 is today. The big thing to keep in mind is, the 8421 was the first big crane set. So it will all ways hold high reguard with collectors and AFOL's I have two in my collection as do I have two 8110's 8043,s 8265's and 8258's but not one 8053, LOL. Figure that one out Dan
