Nice tree and great placement of the monkey! I think the table would work great as a water surface around a boat with some backdrop solution to hide the border The straw backround is not bad however for this build

Interesting sigfig and great concept of the WGO! -
Very nice build and excellent presentation! I especially like the lower part of it with the water and rocky shore. The wall looks however to be too thin in the age of cannons...? (Or maybe the pirate has had it built higher than strong to look more intimidating? ) Edit: Forgot to say Approved!

Of course it requires a tripod or similar to work, otherwise its hard to hold the camera steady for 5-10 seconds

Nice scene overall, and I really like the minifigs and closeup pics! The only thing which puzzles me is how even and clean the floor and streets are?

I like the second version a lot! Much easier to read the text. And Flickr already has the resized versions, forgot about that... Even the thumbnail 100x20 of that is fairly readable, which may come in handy. -

Welcome to GoH Keter and Kyo! -
Nice build with suitable minifigs and som excellent details (as already mentioned) The presentation and photography are also great! What lighting setup did you use for this (particularly intrigued by the light through the blue windows)? One suggestion for improvement however would probably be to have different colors of the walls and floor, it's a bit too much lbg now. I approve!

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
Gideon replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I took the liberty of re-sizing the Oleon banner for my signature (I hope that was ok, whoever made it?). In my signature it now links to the first post of this thread. (My signature is however getting bloated now, I need to get rid of some of the thumbnails of old builds there...) If you want to use it you can find it at http://www.acc.umu.s...leon_medium.png -
Very nice craft, I like how it really looks like it's sailing! I also think you've done a good job making a slender rigging and a nice curvature of the sail A small piece of photography advice is that it seems like you are mixing light of different temperatures, since parts of the backdrop appear bluish while other parts appear yellowish? It's good to stick to one type of lighting (regardless of if it natural light, incandescent, fluorescent, LED, flash etc) or make sure that their spectrum is fairly similar (like applying a gel to a flash to compensate). Then the white balance will be better, either directly in camera if the camera manages to nail it, or afterwards in the computer (On another note, I've also built an outrigger canoe with a sail as my challenge 1A entry but havn't gotten around to taking pictures of it yet...seems like a very common craft that these natives are using!)

Nice ships, great with inspiration to not start out the shipbuilding here too big I like the first closeup shot of the action quite a lot, but maybe a suggestion for presentation would be to put a blue cloth or a bunch of trans-blue round plates as water on the table?

Great build! I love this kind of historical industrial builds -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Short answer: no. I don't have nearly enough time to build what I would like now, but I got too enthusiastic about BoBS so I scrapped the plan for doubling my module of the Swebrick post-apocalyptic landscape before the Halmstad exhibition in February so now I hope to be able to at least build for all categories in the Frozen Beyond challenge and for the first BoBS challenge (thankfully small maximum size ). The economic game system over there scares me however since it reminds me a bit too much of the Kaliphlin civil war gameplay But now I'm venturing far off topic... -

Very nice build and excellent presentation! My favorite picture here is probably the second last where you both see a closeup of the action inside, and at the same time glimpse life in the street outside -

Great to hear that you are in a good building spree! -
Very nice interior scene, the wall on the left side looks great! The colonization seems to be a great opportunity for a lot of the people who are on the wrong end of Oleon's strict primogeniture traditions

Very nice build, I especially like the landscaping and the tree trunk
