  1. Looking great! I'm very interested to see the battle mode
  2. No and no, that would be a too big a challenge I'm afraid. However, the model is quite modular and it is relatively easy to take out the battle equipment and replace it with a real gearbox and a working V10. In this version the gearbox stick does work though, to completely fool the authorities and withstand a more than superficial inspection
  3. The tan axle has a 1L round section in the middle (well almost in the middle) it can be useful to prevent squashing a beam inbetween two gears.
  4. First of all it's great to see another planebuilder on the scene As for the radial engine, that is a tough one. I can think of two ways to make it smaller: 1) Make two cirkels of 4 cilinderheads. Put them after each other with a rotation offset such that the holes of the front row align to holes in the backrow. 2) Try to make cilinders of axles instead of the standard cilinder pieces. Some small V8 engines were shown in this forum a few weeks ago. The problem is of course that these motors are all pushrods and you need something that can pull as well...
  5. Jim made a remark in the discussion topic that he didn't want Mad-max style vehicles, but more M.A.S.K. style vehicles, so maybe you shouldn't go too far in the post-apocalyps theme (but I must say it does look wicked)
  6. Great model. I watched your progress on the tilting mechanism and had my doubts about the stability of such a high contraption, but this thing is defying the laws of gravity It makes my curious what your next projec will be...
  7. Great looking model. And very densily packed. I wonder if it would have taken less space if you would have chosen an automated gearbox to distribute the M-motor functions from one M-motor to 4 functions? Lego motors & receivers are quite bulky... OTOH delivering the functions from one central gearbox takes a lot of axles/gears as well...
  8. But which one is the pro then? (I assume A... Using pro makes it foolproof, non-pro's don't have to add anything unless they choose to battle the pros :)
  9. Hi Jim, Do you want to have the pro in the title as well? Something like [TC7 PRO] or [TC7] PRO
  10. Wow, that is HUGE (Humongous Undertaking with Great Endresult)... How did you come up with such a crazy plan? Do you have a video of this thing in action?
  11. I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to ask, but I'd say Jim has answered the question on what exactly to transform to be eligible. It has to be a sizeable transformation (not just two guns popping out), but it doesn't have to be a complete transformation from one vehicle to another (car2boat or truck2plane are great, but truck to truck with launchplatform is OK as well). So if your transformation is that when you open the hood and doors you see guns and that is it I'd say that is not enough. Edit: Jim has of course the last say in this, so he may correct me... I really like this phase of the competition. Everybody trying to find the mazes in the rules and figuring out where the boundaries are. The creativity already starts here .
  12. That looks menacing And blurry... Your models deserve better photos
  13. Great model! I love the 'grass' collection mechanism, very ingenious indeed.
  14. Aaaahhhh, the tension will be released...
  15. I'm glad you like it! :) I recognize your points of critique, the lamps are too big, maybe spme skillful applied stickers could help here. As for the RC function: that really was an experiment. I never made a RC car before so I was actually surprised it drove at all :) Thanks for the feedback I hope you will get some positive remarks on the exhibition
  16. you are absolutely right, I was not thinking straight.
  17. Second the robotic arm. Something like the ones used in the Legoland attraction where you are strapped in a sest attached to an industrial robot arm... Got pretty sick in that one :)
  18. Moving left and then right again will not change the direction of the gears...
  19. Again taking some time to figure it out... Is there a reason that you first go right with the 8T gear and then go left again with the 2x 16T gears? Can't you go left immediately with 8T gear, that would save you two gears...? And the spring on the rearaxle is located quite far off-center. Ideally you either get a second spring at the opposite side, or you move this one above the axle. Otherwise the spring wil have a tendency to buckle sideways instead of compressing.
  20. Perfecting perfection... That is a slippery slope you are on A close up of the gearbox would be nice How stiff is the structure between the mid section and the rear wheels? And that is a really low placed motor
  21. The finishline is getting in sight... Keep those updates coming
  22. Now that I am starting to build supercars I miss that Fiorano too... Maybe I should go back to building flying stuff or finally finish my crane that is collecting dust on the shelf...
  23. A single one in the middle should work just fine. Of course you don't have a stable, more or less horizontal structure anymore to build something on top. But I suppose that is not the plan anyway
  24. Did you mount the turntable on its side? So that the rotation axis is horizontal pointing from front to aft? I would expect that that indeed would help a lot to keep all four 'legs' on the ground at all times without any other issues.
