  1. The front looks really good, but it is indeed too long. I would try to shave off 1 or preferably 2 studs. You might have to compromise on the front fender... Is the suspension already compressed at the front? There doesn't seem to much space above the wheel for further travel.
  2. I like it. It has an old-school feel to it: But the batterybox is a bit of an eyesore, that's a shame. And a bit more colour variation also wouldn't hurt. Having said that, there is a clear progress in your models. Keep up the good work
  3. I did, but I would not know how to make a 7+R gearbox out of this. The trick I used was that I doubled the gears of a 4 speed gearbox with that extra knob to make it a 8 speed gearbox. I used a separate D-N-R switcher to add the reverse gear.
  4. My bad. I shpuldn't be trying to read while driving to an airport in a jetlag state
  5. And the color is the same as the new driving ring extendrt
  6. No I am reffering to a 20T variant of the red 16T clitch gear. Unfortunately LEGO uses the word clutch for both gear types. The driving ring is right next to it, that doesn't make sense to me unless it can engage with that gear
  7. If I build a section I have the tendency to detail it out. Not entirely sure why though. Maybe because I like doing this kind of bodysculpting. But every now and then I find out that the section may look good in itself, but that it has lost connection to the overall proportions (too low, too high, too wide, too curved, too flat, too... well, you get the idea). I then have to take such a section apart and start again. Which is a decision that has it's own natural resistance. It can take days before I can commit myself to take it apart and start over again, basically throwing away hours of development. Hence my feeling (in hindsight) that I maybe should first sketch out the proportions, before investing into the details... But your approach also makes sense. It is just that in my commissioned work I typically have only one style, so that decision I don't have to make
  8. I normally do not actively engage in these speculation phases, but apparently I am pretty excited about this set.
  9. That thought has crosed my mind as well, but I wouldn't know why you would need a 20T clutch gear for that... So I stay in the 7+R gearbox camp for now. OTOH @efferman might be right and we are spinning away from reality based on a blurry pre-production video fragment of 2 seconds
  10. Well... Not really lots and they are only 16T gears. that doesn't give any gear-ratios... I have been looking at those few seconds of video in which this gearbox is visible, but apart from the new clutch gear and driving ring extender (the white part in your picture) it looks a little 'empty' for an advanced transmission gearbox...
  11. And I would like to add that I think that the white gear that is visible in the video is located directly next to the darkgrey driving ring. To me that can only mean it is a bigger transmission clutch gear. From the relative dimensions I would estimate it to be 20T...
  12. I keep my hopes up, if I saw it right I think we will get a 20T transmission clutch gear. That should make it possible to make a more advanced gearbox than a simple 4-speed. Furthermore a driving extender is used as well, which suggest that the gearbox will include a reverse gear. Which, thinking out loud, could point to a manual gearbox, instead of a sequential box...
  13. Some very smooth lines and good colourblocking It is an intereting approach you take with detailing out a section before moving to the next (or do you have more sketchy full body versions lying around?). I have a tendency to do the same, but at times I wonder whether it is better to first sketch the entire outline with less smooth/optimized paneling to get a feel for the proportions. What is your take on that?
  14. It looks like we get a white 20T transmission clutch gear. When you look in the video @ 0:15 when the gearbox is nearly off the screen it is visible. Also a new white extender is introudced (probably to overcome the length difference due to the thickness change of the red transmission clutch gears
  15. I hope so too. Pulleywheels as an intermediate part do not make sense to me at all. If a new wheel hub is introduced with holes to accept the pins it should be at least one stud thick. That gives sufficient space for a side-clamped diskbrake. If they would even add a bigger disk a little further back you might even be able to design a surface-clamped diskbrake (although that will be difficult with the current pieces). I am not saying the Chiron will have diskbrakes though. It is not an easy feature to implement I am now discovering myself and it's playability is limited (it doesn't do something in standstill and when you push the model you have to somehow operate the diskbrakes, you will feel extra friction, but you can push through that by making the wheels slip on either ground or rims).
  16. This opens up the possibility of functional diskbrakes... You'll have at least 1 stud deep of solid cilinder that turns with the wheel...
  17. Wow, great idea and executed beautifully. It does look a lot like a GBC and I am sure it will be used for that, it is just too good an idea not to use it I would say. Let the saints march on
  18. It's looking great so far. Sturdy, modular, functional: it is ticking all my I like this boxes
  19. Wow, I somehow missed this thread completely, shame on me Brilliant looking model , with a great balance between functionality and looks. It reminds me of Sariel's studded models. Well done
  20. I hadn't been following this topic for a few days, but wow... Certainly looking forward to the final result. I am happy that you choose for the M-motor, for this application (high speed, low torque) I think it is the best motor. And the motor is more in proportion with the rest of the model I think. I'd have to see the model in real life, but to me the triple panels in the back look a bit too cluttered. It has some nice repeating shapes, but they do not exist in a real life helicopter... Keep up the good work.
  21. Here is a new link to the original video: https://bricksafe.com/files/JeroenOttens/Shifter.mp4 Sorry about the bad quality
  22. For those interested, I (finally) posted the second part of the video on Youtube:
  23. Amazing The plane itself is already a fully functional sleek looking beauty, but to realize it is a C-model makes it even more awesome Looking forward to the video
  24. Cool car I especially like the colourscheme, apart from the onorthodox solution for the windscreen you wouldn't say it is a C-model.
