KTLA Los Angeles CA. Question of he day

....or, alternatively maybe Danish has not made it into the mainstream yet. -
For the Modulars and other large builds I tend to use the Divide-The-Bags-By-Instruction-Manual approach and then dump all the contents of those Bags into a large box for use. I'll winnow out the obvious pieces - Doors, window-frames, glass, minifigs, heads, wheels and the larger plates and tiles and then leave remainder in the large box. Then it's a case of sifting and fossicking through the Box for the pieces I need for the particular Instruction step. It sounds like a laborious chore, but you soon get to remember roughly where the piece was in the Box AND there's no hour of pre-sorting before you start. It's an approach that really works for me and as I frequently get distracted by a specific piece in the rubble it enables me to build (a component structure) out of step.

That's an effective looking upgrade you've given the Cinema! I like the fact you've managed io get two screens into such a restricted space. Good job and thanks for sharing it with us!

Wow! I was hoping that someone in this competition would do an interesting roof and here it is. And it has lights! It looks fantastic, good luck in the competition and thank you for sharing it with us!

It's close, but the Fire Brigade is taller than the Palace Cinema by about a Brick.

What a fantastic creation! and it's massive! Just how tall is that clock tower? It certainly looked like you had some large crowds enjoying the display. Thank you for sharing it with us!

That looks fantastic! The original was impressive, but the office and facilities are great additions. Do you have plans to extend it further? Thanks for sharing it with us!

Lego spill temporarily closes Interstate 79!

I just had to post one of the comments from the News stations page... "I saw this happen. A giant lego man was driving a car made out of legos, lost control, hit the guardrail, and exploded into a thousand pieces. Investigators are trying to reconstruct the scene, and the car." Bwa-haahahaha! -

You are going to enjoy it! The one thing I'd suggest though is avoid re-reading any reviews, or checking out pictures of the FB online until after your build is complete. That way you don't spoil the surprises!

I don't think that that's the Hot-tub: it's the frigid lake! Nice MOC and thanks for sharing it with us!

There's so much to enjoy in this MOC; that's a great set of colours and textures on the facade! And I really like the 1st floor carpet - it must have driven you mad building that pattern.... The details above the entrance. It's all done really well Yay for overpriced coffee and free wi-fi! Thanks for sharing it with us

Blimey there's a lot going on! I'm really digging the water, the row boat conversion, and the tentacles grabbing the unfortunate pirate. Thanks for sharing it with us!

The Instructions are easy enough to find on the web. Here's one link http://www.brickinstructions.com/instructions.php?code=10182&set=Caf%C3%A9%20Corner Here's a parts list http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=10182-1 If you haven't yet discovered the infinite joy of Bricklink then I'd suggest having a quick play around there. It's as ugly as a three day old pizza, but it's easy enough to create wanted (Parts) lists and search for BL shops that sell them. Good luck in your hunt!

Perhaps if you were dressed as a Nun with a cane? I hadn't seen your Bluesmobile before... It's excellant. You've really got a knack for the vehicular MOCs

Good grief! Just checked out the Bricklink picture and a flood of memories came back. My Grandfather worked at a Vauxhall dealership (Whipples) in Grantham, UK during the early sixties and I remember a big huge monstrously massive pile of these on display for promotional purposes.

It's amazing just how much Lego has changed in this period. The Sets today look more sophisticated and credible. And the primary colour palate of the 90's has evolved into a more complex range of colours.
