  1. Tough choice - I'd say in order: 1. Fire Brigade, Fun build, lots of new (to me, at least) building techniques 2. Palace Cinema, It looks shiny and ornate, plenty of great interior detail. 3. Town Hall, Impressive size, but WOW! factor per $ is lower than the others I don't have the others (yet), but from what I've seen I think it'd be FB, PC, PS, GE, TH.....
  2. I picked mine up from the not-so-local Lego Store in Kansas City and built it over two evenings. I have to say that my first impressions were very positive - although it did look a bit garish when placed next to the Town Hall. Now that I've lived with it for a few days it's kinda blended in and it looks superb! I'd recommend it to anyone who's considering it. That car, however, it's still rubbish not the best thing I've seen Lego produce.
  3. Perplexed by your puce-colored preparation
  4. There's a couple of playground MOCs posted in this thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12891 They're worth checking out.
  5. I think that since your original pictures were posted and the release of the Palace Cinema set the entire community has been waiting to see this. You certainly didn't disappoint - this is fantastic! Thank you showing what potential lurks in the standard set!
  6. That's a huge improvement over the Original. Well done!
  7. 13. Biomanniax - The Forgotten Ewok Temple - 2 points 14. Lobot - The Resurrection of the Emperor - 3 points
  8. 13. ACpin - Yoda's Legacy - 2 points 12. pedro - Escape from Na Shaddaa - 3 points
  9. They look great! Are you going to build them?
  10. Just returned from the Lego Store in Kansas City to bag mine. The staff said that this kit was flying off the shelves...
  11. Hahahaha! Thanks for pointing that out - I'll get my team of minifig handymen to fix that right up!
  12. I do not keep my AFOL-iction a secret. And although the initial reaction is typically one of "WTF! You play with Lego?" when I whip out the phone (covered in a Lego case from smallworks.com) and show them pictures of my Lego Brewery, bar, other bar, ruined buildings, Taco Truck, etc. I can see that they realize that this is not like kiddies Lego. Then I point them at the Flickr groups, and eurobricks and tell them I'm not unique....
  13. I like the 'inbetweenies', but it's a shame to have them at the end of an older thread - they deserve their own. At first glance the WIP: Art Deco House looked a bit garish, but once my eyes adjusted ( ) that pink and green combo really works well. The facade's detailing, especially round the upper story windows is effective, and looks real. The Carrot Goldfish Fountain looks great - the stonework carvings are well proportioned and that water looks natural. Thanks for sharing it with us!
  14. That is fantastic! It's the best Modular Station I think I've seen - it's obvious so much thought has gone into the detail that you created. Thank you for sharing it with us! Oh and that Reactor Core was an unexpected pleasant surprise...
  15. Here's the micro-brewery with the Bar/Pub next door. It's not in a great part of town. The pavement's all busted up and there's weeds growing through the cracks. Again this Pub/Bar is a brickcitydepot creation - all I did was change the color scheme to reflect the bricks I had on hand
  16. I definitely prefer the smoother roof of the newer version - though that color doesn't seem quite right. But the color mix you've used for the walls and tower is very effective - especially the mossy/ivy look. Have you considered doing a spire on top of your tower? That might give it the definition you're looking for. Good job and thanks for sharing it with us!
  17. That is spectacular! There's so much to take in and enjoy (although the Mime freaks me out a bit) Do you have any idea how many bricks it contains? Thanks for sharing it with us!
  18. I built the Bar that came with the instructions from www.brickcitydepot.com - although I did change the color combination to suit my available bricks. So, my little town has this micro-brewery, a bar, another bar (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78161) and a WIP restaurant. Oh, and vague plans for an old-style English Pub. There's definitely a theme going on here That's a good idea! Thanks! What brand? I'm not sure, but here's a picture of my latest homebrew.... It's thirsty work building with Lego Thanks for your comments!

You've really captured the essence of the original! Have you considered an interior? Thanks for sharing it with us!
  20. I downloaded plans from www.brickcitydepot.com for their Commercial building/Bar combo (http://www.brickcitydepot.com/city-building-instructions.html) and I then decided to extend out the Commercial Building by doubling it in size and stuff it full of a micro-brewery. It's still a Work In Progress and I'd like to add an office and a washroom in the next iteration, but I thought I'd share it with the forum to see if other ideas were forthcoming. Here's the front - I can't claim any credit for the facade. All I did was double the width to 32-bricks. Brick City Depot have done a fantastic job! Here's the Ground floor. The Ground floor contains the large mashing vats. There's a shelf full of sacks of hops ready to be added (via the red doors on top of the vats), there's a water supply, and there's a shelf full of other supplies (that was in the original BCD plans) The Top floor contains the bottling plant There's a tray of empty glasses on the conveyor belt, and as they pass through the filling station they're topped up with beer (though the beer looks a bit orangey - I didn't have any trans-brown!) and then they pass through to the bottling and packing part of the machine. Finally on the downslope belt there's two full box of beers produced and ready for dispatch. Finally, a shot of the rear of the building. I like the grungy, decayed feel to it and as I said the source building is from www.brickcitydepot.com and any credit for the outside must go to them. The plans they provided were excellent! Thanks for reading and comments and criticisms welcome! So, what should I add?
  21. That Roger Moore minifig is displaying the full range of his acting emotions And Nick Nack could double up as Odd Job.
  22. That facade looks really effective and the 'gold' decorative pieces are a nice touch. Looks good and thanks for sharing it with us!
  23. Looks like http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4511
  24. Not sure about the CMF References - every time I look at the pictures I see Scooby and Shaggy. It's definitely a MOC that you can spend some considerable time looking at.
  25. What a sumptuous looking library you've got! It looks like part of a rambling Scottish Castle. There's so much detail work and I love the secret passage, but if this just one part of your structure just how big is it finally going to be? Thanks for sharing it with us!
