Interesting video! Maybe the owners are wealthy enough that they won't have to sell the company for decades. That would be lovely.

Lasse, That is a very, very cool car! Can't wait to see it soon! It would be a hoot to turn it into a remote control model, but making the wheels turn a corner would probably take a miracle. These models are quite impressive; way to go, guys!

The video is great because it explains how this set works. I can imagine that folks who love fairs will enjoy playing with this set. It looks perfect that everything fits on the trucks rolling in to town. And the playability should be high with so much going on. And yes, we adults do play with our LEGO, so the 16+ rating does not mean that a set does not have to be worth playing with by adults. (Have you ever watched train theme devotees play with their trains for days on end?) The cast of minifigs is outstanding because it takes so many folks to make a fair work. Add another 50 people from your collection, and you have a big crowd. Nice to see so many characters in one set, and the new gray hair is fantastic! The larger truck size is more realistic and fits the load. Not every set is meant to appeal to every AFOL, just like with the Simpsons. But there are plenty of nice parts in these specialized sets that make them attractive to many builders any ways. Out of respect to the feelings of all of the set designers, I think it is helpful to focus on more of the positive features of each set and not just post a comment that "something stinks" and slam them in the face. The designers are people and deserve better treatment. How would you feel if someone posted a comment that something you designed really stunk? I posted such a comment by mistake last week, and felt like an idiot afterwards. I was furious about something non-Lego, and took out my anger on an MOC-er. Thank god we can edit what we post when we make such blunders! Politeness goes a long way and costs nothing but a little thought before doing something. So let's try to focus on the merits of a set or MOC and not that someone won't buy something because it ....blah, blah, blahs. (Most of the rest of us could not care whether or not you will be buying the set anyway! All of our tastes are subjective anyway. Look at the music that folks listen to on that thread. Each to his own.) Enough preaching. Let's enjoy the toys we adore.

Wow! Love this review and that you got to sit on top of the world, uh, I mean House! Very cool that yall got to meet with folks in Billund. I am all behind the way this is being offered as a set in the town only because of the purpose of the set and the fact that it is a reward for putting up with construction noise and traffic and disruption of business. After the price of MBS, this is a relief! Thanks for preordering the sets for us as a side dish. We are gonna be extra hungry that day for lunch and might have to try eating several of these for each course!

REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
Legogal replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
I finally noticed a few at WM and TRU in Cary, NC, today. 3.99US each. The dollar price increase adds up really, really fast. The two daughters had been picked out, so that left most of the others. Will look for the daughters again as I hope to use parts building regular minifigs and need the smaller body for family building. While I am not into the Simpsons, it is great that there are more minifigs for building Simpsons' sets and for using in their own house. And some of the rare/new torso colors are lovely! WhiteFang's review provided a lot of info about the TV series and the characters, which makes it easier to understand just who each figure is. Thanks for another great review!- 118 replies

Thanks, CopMike and Morten. That fellow looks great to me! Love the Danish flag on his chest....how cool is that! Once we put him on a red bike, he will look like he is right at home. (Where did you locate him on BL?) -
Wow! 0 of 8. Errrrr...Time to change my glasses or my brain?

Hi Morten! Does the Copenhagen store keychain say Copenhagen or Denmark on the tag? And is it different from the keychains sold at Billund these days? Are the figures the same, too? Thanks for the info, Gray -
Hummmm....errrrrr.....you got me!

MOC - Christ the Redeemer Garden (Cristo Redentor)
Legogal replied to alanboar HK's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Alan, Fantastic build with lovely flotilla of cute bunnies! Well designed statue and tons of flowers make it an interesting build. And a garden setting is perfect for the Easter season. The lime green bushes look like interesting places for the bunnies to hide and play. Congratulations! -
Shay, Nice looking guy! Especially the mask, hands and boots. Soooooo...what else did you make for the art show?
-
The photos are outstanding, too! Nice logo as well. Glad you are keeping it built and planning to show it again. Wow! The details of your planet are just fascinating, especially to those of us who enjoy maps and geography. Thanks for sharing this! There must be a story behind Bad Leo?
-
Cwetqo, Glad you are bringing your family! We look forward to meeting them, and it will be cool to have children around at Legoland. Yup, he definitely needs a cool EB tee!

Ditto what Only Sinner said! What a marvelous build of Planet Earth! The minifigs being placed on top by the folks at the ceremony is really a nice touch. And all the white structures from all over are simply amazing! This must weigh a ton...how did you manage to lift and move it around HK? Did you have to manage stairs with it? I remember how steep the mountains are around there; we could barely walk up them. Where did the Earth go after the December meeting?

Wow! The first time I have heard of anyone finding something useful for a snail to do; normally they just chomp up our garden enjoying their lush meals. And not only is your snail useful, it is adorable! What a cute build that makes folks smile!

Pig, I'm feeling crooked already! Guess this means it was a very successful build! This is what houses often look like after an earthquake...do you live on a fault line like most Alaskans? This also happens when they build on permafrost and it starts melting. Especially with global warming and the temp increase in Alaska the last 30 years. It gives you a headache walking from one end of the house to the other. They used to put huge jacks under each corner and rest the house on steel beams so they could jack up the low corners. But after a while, they just give up if the ground is melting too fast. Glad this is not your real house! The black detailing on the back is really a nice touch. Err......Just have to ask, are you color blind by any chance? Just curious!

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Architecture competition

Rolli, If I were a more skilled builder, I would indeed make it smaller. But this size uses the smallest 1 by 1 clear tile made for a window. The next step is dark slots for windows like in the Imperial Hotel, which requires more skill than I have. ( Someone who really knows how to put these "thangs" together, could do an awesome micro, but it ain't gonna be me for a very long time.) It will not be leaving our house, so photos will comprise the only viewing of it. Yup, you are correct. Most things are "big" in the US, especially our general lack of knowledge of foreign languages, geography, history, and fine, slow cooked food. Usually quantity is much more important than quality in the US culture. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes it is not so good. I hope that your long future includes a lot of international travel because it is very entertaining seeing other cultures in real time. Cheers! -
I visit several Raleigh area Targets once a week or so and WMs whenever I am nearby at the bank or Whole Foods about twice a week. It is very rare to find any LEGO marked down more than 20 percent. If it does get marked down more than that, it must fly off the shelves because it is not there when I drop in for a quick look. My only decent find the past two years was (four of) the Goblin King Battle 79010 for 30US at a WM in southern Virginia. One is a birthday gift for an excellent child builder turning six and the other three went at cost to a friend who usually parts out sets on BL unless he wants them. He calls me if he sees something I might like in his state, and I really appreciate those calls. With so many collectors out there roaming through the stores, it seems that the days of serious discounts are pretty much over for us amateurs.

L@go, Thanks! That makes sense. Your English is just fine! I was trying to use smaller plates on the bottom layer, medium sized on the middle layer, and larger ones on the top layer. Forget that! I thought that maybe the smaller plates were the warped ones, but will try to replace the larger plates with smaller ones with plenty of those in stock. Shoot me! Whoever thought building the base would be so tough! (Time to quit laughing. The sky has turned black at 5pm/1700 and our roof sounds like it is about to blow off. Uh oh.) -
Ice Planet was a very special series of sets...very imaginative and colorful for its time. My son had these as a child and loved playing with them. Glad we kept them even if they are a bit beat up. Thanks for the photos!
