  1. Thanks Ecc! Yes, those are swamp bubbles! I was hoping they wouldn't blend in too much with the wings being lime green too
  2. Very cool! I had forgotten just how much you've developed Benoic. I love the new 'portraits' as well
  3. Yes, that is the demon armor and wings from brickwarriors.com. I have enough for 10 draconians, but I need more chima crocs first. DG-thanks! Simon-i like the alt bricks, but I agree that if they are overused it takes away from the moc
  4. Thanks SK! Yes, it is an oval not a circle in shape. Mr. Cadarn heavily influenced this build, and those window were one that was definitely a DC style.
  5. I really want to like the Kaliphlin clan best(since that's my home), but I think the Evergreen Elves of Mitgardia are just perfect! Great job on all of these
  6. My category C entry http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89663
  7. “When I was a youth, the previous MoonLord brought me on a raid near the Nocturnus border. There were some political prisoners being transported through Nocturnus, and we elves were going to set them free.” Kha’s eyes seemed to be glazed over as he recalled the events. “That was the first time I had run across the Draconians. They are a fierce tribe from Nocturnus….twisted. Half man and half dragon, they say that they were created during the height of Nocturnus’s power by clerics of some forgotten deity through rituals that were unspeakable.” Kha was visibly shaken, and we got the impression that he knew first hand what those rituals were. “That, is who we are going to find in the swamps and recruit to help us fight the Black Spire.” “But Kha, how do you know they will join the fight and not just kill us?” “I don’t….but they were fiercely loyal to Ssilyrrlith. He allowed them to prosper under his rule. They don’t want much, as twisted and ugly as they look, they lead a simple life. They are not enough in numbers to challenge the rule of all of Nocturnus, but their territory is sacred to them. We will just have to very convincing in why the Black Spire will not leave them be.” We journeyed deep into the Moruth Swamplands, and we came across an ancient tower. Kha signaled us to a halt as we approached. He knew we had found the place, although how was beyond me. I can’t picture those dragonmen building anything, but the tower was definitely theirs. We approached the tower and were met by several of those beasts. Kha hailed them and spoke to them so quietly that none of us could hear what he said. Based on the emotions that I saw cross that twisted half man/half dragon face he struck a nerve. And seeing those almost human emotions on that nightmarish face will haunt me for the rest of my days. Now, we have an army of these dragonmen….Draconians with us as we march to the Spire. I’m not sure if that is a help or a hindrance…..I can’t even sleep at night with these things near me. By the way, I would like to claim UoP credit for the following categories: SNOT'ted Tile work, Round Walls for Architecture, A third tree design here for Landscaping, and Life in Nocturnus for Anthropology.
  8. Looks great Gabe! I really like the use of the technic arms in here. It has the 1x2 tower feel, but more refined with those technic arms. I will grant +1 to all 4 claims for UoP
  9. I guess I picked the right guild for myself! I also have a bad lower back I have scoliosis and that gave me about a 40 degree curve down by my hips, you can't see it because it curves back 2 vertebrae up, but it hurts a lot every so often and I guess I would have been about 4 inches taller otherwise. That's why I can't read through MOC's all night here on GoH, my back starts to kill if I sit at the computer too long
  10. jeronoaa, glad to see you building so much lately! I really like the action going on here as well, and I agree that it deserves some more love in the photography. You mentioned using a poster for the background, but if you do not have that, a suggestion is that I use a white sheet that I drape under and behind my builds. In Photoshop you can edit that out. For those that don't know, Photoshop CS2 is now freeware if you go to the Adobe page. Also, if you turn the flash off on your camera and have some Daylight bulbs to light the build in little lamps, that can help the lighting a lot. Shouldn't be too expensive either, I bought 3 clip utility work light shields from Home Depot for like $6 each, and use the CFL 100 watt equivalent bulbs that was like $5 for a 3-pack.
  11. OK, so first of all....great build! Glad you're on my team. Very cool Nocturnus feel to this. Second, I also have the same problem as gedren_y, that you pics are not all visible to me. Unfortunately all of your updates in our Nocturnus PM are also not visible to me. Luckily I follow you on Flickr and have seen them all now there. As for UoP credits, I will give you +1 for the 3 first categories. I am going to hold off on voting for the lighting category. I'd like to see more lighting in the building, but I am not going to be a vote against you on it
  12. Great MOC and posing. I am chuckling a little bit, because the photo with deGothia with his hand on the shoulder of the blond character reminds of the scene in Dark Knight Rises when Bane tells Dagget "Do you feel in charge?"
  13. +1 for dense foliage....I think you had enough votes already..but just in case
  14. I went through the UP list, hopefully that helps us catch up. I have seen all of these MOC's and been around, but just haven't had time to sit and really comment. Hopefully that changes soon
  15. +1 for waves and minifig posing. As for the sideways rocks, while you did put them in here sideways(or flat), there is not really any texture to them. I'd like to see you use them more extensively and use them to add texture and realism to the build for credit.
  16. Very cool take on this, however I need to agree with Gabe on it. For UP credit for microscale I believe we need to see some more variation and elevation,
  17. +1 for the microscale. By the way, the editing to make the card is top notch!
  18. Another great Gideon build! I will also lend my +1 to the windows, military and life in Kaliphlin.
  19. Wow...this is great! I love this dragon, you have a talent for adding life into the MOC's that many builders do not. I definitely give the +1 to brick built animal for this build
  20. Sorry for my inattentiveness lately, been busy! I did see this MOC when you posted it and thought it was great. I will add my +1 to both the wooden walls and the village life. Great job!
  21. Plus with CCCXI going on, there is a lot of time juggling going on to build for both contests
  22. Oh yeah! Challenge 1....I guess I'm still in April!
  23. Make sure it is in the Historica forum. But, yes make it's own thread and label it as Challenge VI Category A. Also, post a photo and link in your Guilds main page
