  1. UCS sith fury class interceptor! Damn that'd be a nice one to have! Someone done a full minifig scaled version somewhere and my god, while absolutely massive, was just beyond words in excellence.
  2. Not necessarily facts, but certainly reasonable assumptions strong enough to provide reasonable doubt. I'd agree with the rest though, entirely. After seeing the trans red clone trooper, I did contemplate for a moment about getting it, with the acceptance it may or may not be genuine. But just because so cool! But alas, boring sensibility came back in my mind and stopped me Echoing what alexandrina said, I have also seen somewhere it state that red is used because it shows up the stress fractures best. And again though, why all the other colours, who knows... Your middle and last paragraph are exactly what I was assuming to be the case but not wanting to say because I've never had any experience with injection moulding machines and therefore while I'd assume switching colours would be a time costly and inefficient process that would be easily noticed, I didn't actually know. Good to know though! But as Blackman also said, playing devil's advocate here and trying to keep a neutral view, is it not also possible they have a smaller machine specifically designated for prototyping parts so as not to disrupt production capacity? I'd have assumed that too, as they'd have to prototype test quite a few parts/colours etc, I really can't imagine they squeeze that in between actual production, it seems inefficient. Being able to nab a bundle of already made minifigs to sell loads on bricklink would be a lot easier than actually producing one in many different colours... A possible theory I thought is that it's possible someone/a small clone company cloned the basic fig moulds by reverse cloning the pieces, and the same for darth vader head piece and are testing the quality using different colours. As for 'if it could be done, it would be done already' being a reason, it's not. Of course it can be done. Given enough time with silicone and dye, I could make cloned copies with the lego logo out of resin no problem. I don't have my own injection process machine. But if I can do it out of resin, you can bet it can be copied with abs. But even clone companies in China try and stay within the blurred boundaries of legality to not bear the full brunt of obvious 100% trademark infringement.
  3. There suddenly seems to be a big rise of these 'prototypes'. Yeah, they have the lego stamp on them. But they all seem to be mostly darth vader. Seems strange they're all just mostly darth vader (OK, torso unprinted is basic torso, but still, the 2 piece helmet mould). I'm cynical, and my mind is wandering towards these being Chinese copies upping their game including the lego logo on them. Given the increase in quality of Chinese knockoffs as of recent, it'd be no surprise to see them being able to clone them-lego stamp logo included. I find it hard to believe that someone has managed to set up a machine to run so many variations of colours during the night (obviously likely over many nights-not just one), when the colours themselves would likely take a fair bit of processing to set up. That so many of these prototypes are suddenly coming to light seems too much for my mind to believe to be authentic. I have to admit though, the transparent ones are damned sweet though! Especially the trans red clone trooper currently on ebay...
  4. I doubt they're painted, given the transparent ones, but also they just have the appearance of coloured plastic than paint. Couldn't tell if fake or real, but I'd be suspicious and be looking for solid evidence one way or the other.
  5. There are plastic bags inside the current cmf series. It's not all of them, but it is some. Can't remember which ones though. Woah... You know what. I'd never even considered that. Actually pretty much true too (from my perspective). I can't think of a reasonable counter point. At least with bags you could feel and potentially get what you want with a minimal chance at being wrong depending how good you are at feeling. With boxes? Nah. Full blown gamble there. Anyone else have thoughts on that?
  6. Strangely, I can see the (potentially) blind boxes for cmf's pushing the prices of them up on the secondary market overall. Imagine not wanting to randomly buy to get the full set. Well, you can't go out and feel for yourself. So, you have to resort to one of 2 options. Buy a full unopened box, open them all, have your set and sell the rest, or... Buy a set from someone who did the former. You're after just a single minifig and not a whole set? You're doubtful of buying an entire box of them. So, either randomly buy until you get lucky, or... Pay the premium of someone else having bought the full box and found one for you. For me, blind boxes will severely limit/reduce my impulse purchasing for cmf's.
  7. That's a beautiful creation, very elegant in design and the all-gold look is a great touch of class to a well designed gate. The whole gold majestic look makes it feel like it belongs to an entrance into Asgard or some other similar style mythical place. Really nice detailing that looks totally in place
  8. Got to admit, that looks pretty damned smart! I'm surprised the tie doesn't put it off balance. Very nice execution though, interesting bit of kit underneath it!
  9. While it might not be an official set, I'd sa Y JBB's version is about as good as one could hope for, that thing is insanely awesome, in the mechanism for walking, and steering, and while keeping all exterior details clean of looking like its hiding anything that makes it move. Am totally on board with a ucs U-wing! Was the current D-0 not big enough? My own wishlist is pretty simple... UCS Venator. Captain Rex P2 minifig If they did that, I can die happy
  10. There is no 'slightly passive aggressive' about his comment, it's entirely fair what he said. You're talking about potential film/TV show stuff, and possible minifigs as a result of potential film/TV series. Neither of which belong in this thread. The culture and media Forum (https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/25-culture-amp-multimedia/) and future star wars minifigs thread exist for these things. Spoiler: Definition; noun 1.A description of an important plot development in a television show, film, or book which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader. Wikipedia: A spoiler is an element of a disseminated summary or description of any piece of fiction that reveals any plot elements. Merriam Webster: 3: information about the plot of a motion picture or TV program that can spoil a viewer's sense of surprise or suspense also : a person who discloses such information Its a spoiler. Stop making up your own definition of it. Doesn't matter what you *think*, you're wrong. Doesn't matter that it's 2 years before hand. If you found out how an unknown film is going to end, two years before its made, its still a bloody spoiler. Stop trying to justify it. As it is, this conversation doesn't even belong here and you know it. It's speculation about TV show which doesn't belong in this thread and it's speculation about minifigs in a speculated TV show with absolutely no weight to any substantial rumours of any minifigs which therefore, doesn't belong here. I've been quiet about it, but now you're trying to justify spoiling something for someone else when you're being all sorts of wrong. Additionally, your view that just because the company making the show-whatever show it is- releases some part of information relating to it, deems it not a spoiler is also ludicrous. It just means the show producers themselves released a spoiler. It is *still* a spoiler. It's like saying people that make law/regulations arent liable to be held accountable to those same laws because they made them, therefore it doesn't apply to them. Its an absurd suggestion. The show still isn't released. Therefore, it's still a spoiler by all definitions. Does it mean it makes it harder for people to wish to remain spoiler-free? Sure as heck does, and, if those spoilers are relevant to the topic at hand in a direct manner, they would do well to avoid any forums as film company released info will certainly be widely accepted as free reign to talk about. But at the moment, none of the previous is relevant. Just drop it.
  11. That looks like dark red? If it is, it's entirely probable in this case it's suffering from the same defect that many parts made in dark red and reddish brown suffered over the recent years (my star wars V19 torrent suffered horrendously for this. Pulled off a plate and it left half of it behind! Had about 7 or so pieces from that set alone simply snap or leave behind part of a plate) it's a known issue with dark red that has apparantly been rectified in the past 2 years or so.
  12. Appreciate the detailed response! Am trying to understand more about something I know nothing about. That all certainly makes sense, although I fear that the price may be a factor if they were to start up either a new wave, or for the 90th anniv. (especially the 90th anniv.) and try and create new moulds. (I'm assuming here) They'd add on a premium to cover the new moulds. I can see the draw to them though, in the previous price sense. That is certainly cheap for a whole wave! Quite interestingly, for me, i used to love maxing the mixels into their 3x component character. I also loved how cheap they were, most definitely impulse buys, and then necessity buys once I was hooked Yet Bionicle never hit me. I guess there is an 'inbetween' level where mixels (although not so much the later ones) is about right for me (typically a system person).
  13. Completely see where you're coming from, and it does make sense. But also, does it not also make sense that it could be an indication that space also came second? And so it's kinda like a runner up prize while the first place gets the actual set made for it? Or perhaps, they make the top 2 and space came third...? I think there's too many potentially plausible situations that make it impossible to tell if it's relevant or not :( Also, on a slightly related note, but kinda not, someone said something in the past couple of pages (I think aanchir) about how the difficulty of pirate sets from nostalgia wasn't the same in the reboot versions of pirates etc... I recently got the SP2 Galactic Mediator set and the Ice Planet Deep Freeze Defender for the first time. Built the DFD couple weekends ago and the GM weekend just gone. Even as an adult building them, I'm extremely impressed with the playability/functions/modularity functions of these sets. There's no nostalgia to recall upon, this is a fresh experience and while for the most part there's no SNOT, they are still designed pretty well and through the eyes of an afol, I can only criticise the structural strength of them due to them being a straight forward 'this on top of that, on top of that, on top of that with nothing pinning it all in place like a sub structure of technic or bricks/plates with studs on the sides. I'd have been ecstatic as a child to have had them. I now get the feeling that the ultimate Batmobile from TLM was very much in a similar style. As a lego set, looking at it now... What makes the essence of a Bionicle set? (ignoring the back story) if they released one now, what would make you go 'yeah, that's it, they've hit the nail on the head with that!'?
  14. The accessories and ghost function alone sold this to me! and the tower room interior is very nicely detailed. It looks exactly how I'd imagine a sorcerers tower to look. I don't really log on to support ideas much... But just had to for this (and the below one, although turned out not to need it!). Got my support! Went to support this just to realise its already at 10k! What a beautiful set! With an awesome opening feature, great interior details with each room, nice little treasure trove on the ground level. Such a fantastic set!
  15. I didn't get the 1000 Internet points But is it confirmed along the same level as the cara dune minifig being in the cruiser set, as in, there seems to be uncertainty if its 100% certain or not....? (as far as certain can be) If its confirmed as such, then given the next part of your post as well, my wallet is going to despise me
  16. Heck, even a fake rumour would do right about now to bring it back on topic... Where's one of our fake rumour spreaders when you really need them Back on topic... Eh....... I got nothing. BadBatch for the win. Hoping for all in one set. That is all When is the RGS meant/rumoured to be released?
  17. You're wasting your time trying to explain classic castle is a Subtheme of castle, same as classic space being a Subtheme of space. I already fully explained it in detail and they revert back to naming classic castle (yellow castle) being the main 'castle' theme, when everyone else is aware it's not, same as space. Just move on from scarillions posts, I've only just learned to.
  18. Even now after all the explaining, they're still not understanding it...
  19. Ahhh didn't know that canopy comes in 2 halves (well, nearly as the same). I think my current preference would be to add that thin line of plates as the additional length is minimal and not really noticeable. For someone who doesn't have the canopy, I'd say an excellent compromise. I think I'll order those 2 pieces now before those too, double in price at this concept Uh... Crikey... Buying 2 of them in trans clear is almost as expensive as the single canopy piece if bought from my country, then already exceeding it too...
  20. Best comment of the thread!
  21. But you'd have a lip around the edge with the excess material being heated ul melted around it. Drilling would be the only method and that'd have to be tiny to be able to provide the interference tight fit to have the wire stuck in it, let alone getting the wire pushed in in the first place. Possible? Yep. Easy? Not entirely, if put up to high scrutiny.
  22. I guess you could always try to..... wire them a telegram......... But seriously, if you have access to a landline, just phone them and have something else you can do while being on hold for up to half an hour (seems around average right now, I've called them twice with that kind of wait), then speak to them. They'll be able to provide details on what to do etc. Keep hold of everything-box too as mentioned above, for batch purposes. Also, take lots of pictures at different angles of it too, so it's clear that the wire hasn't been 'heated up and melted into the brick afterwards' kinda thing, that it's beyond all reasonable doubt it was in there from production. Let us know what happens!
  23. Could be this set: https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/6081_King's_Mountain_Fortress I recognised it from having the above set when I was younger. While I don't see those bars, and the rest is on the front, I think that could be located round the left side of the castle, I could be wrong... *edit after lookinga t the instructions, its not that set, it just has similar arches in it but no black bars...Not sure which it is yet, but will try find out!
  24. Of course, the first page it's been a while since I first saw this thread and only check the latest posts so forgot it was there Interesting regarding the brick built canopy though! Gone ahead and got the instructions! I think I'll contemplate life for a month before I go ahead and buy the parts for this while having nowhere to put it
