Super Mario 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Appreciate the heads up, have just got the luigi one, but, couldn't find the Mario one on the Nintendo rewards page... (unless you need the 400 platinum points to be able to see it...?) -

Not sure why people are jumping at me for this... I said Prequal era. It's still Prequal era, and more interesting than the OT ISD's. I know it's a callback to the style of the empire, hence me saying 'some stuff is of similar aesthetics'... ie; they're both big wedge triangles with command bridge on a tower raised at the back. But Venator has much more going on to break up the monotony of grey lines and stacked books on the isd. TPM is situated in the PT. Venator is in PT. Venator is very clearly PT (even though 'later' versions were all gray once Republic fell), isd is very clearly OT. That's all I was saying. I simply offered an additional alternative that perhaps the OP hadn't considered. -

Prequal era, was more my point, whereas the isd is original trilogy... :) Prequal era has its own style of ships compared to OT, even if they are similar of certain aesthetics for some stuff. -

Personally, given how you like episode 1 the most... I'd be inclined to look at bricklinking a UCS Venator moc instead. There are a fair few out there that are really impressive, and thankfully, of various sizes so you get to choose to a degree, how big and how much you spend. I'm at the point where if TLG do a great set of it, cool! If not, and I really like the ship and someone's done a moc of it and it's got instructions? I'll get that. The end model is what matters to me, not about having an official TLG box or official tlg instructions. However, Disclaimer: I don't have 75252. And I never will. Its nice, I guess. But it's a big grey door wedge. As much as I love the films, the Venator is something much nicer and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and I'm certain would be just as much fun, if not more, to build. But, if its what you like, or anyone else, I'm pleased for them! :) -

Ooooohhhh haha! You had me thinking I'm coming down with dementia or something! Also, thanks regarding the responses on BB shuttle. I'll bide my time for now, perhaps even the slightest discount will drag me into getting it. -

Can't even remember that happening!? I'ma have to watch season 2 all over again I think! I'm on the fence about when to get the BB shuttle... For those who have it... Is it worthy of its full price? Or, if a discount were to be applied... What would you find to be a suitable discount to make it seem more reasonable? -

It's a really nice build, beautiful architecture... Gives a Manhattan apartment building kinda vibe to it (absolute guessing here) But absolutely noooooo idea what/who the nanny is... Friends? For certain. Seinfeld? Yeah, just not my cup of tea. Have probably seen more episodes of Cheers than Seinfeld too. -
Smart little moc, it's a decent size. That's a good use of that trans clear part too! Shame it doesn't come in Lbley though. How stable its it with the technic T pieces?

That picture with the bus in the yellow circle is from TLG's actual website, on the home page under the subheading of 'back to school' (at least on mobile page website). Just happened upon it -

Haha, yes, it is mere conjecture! But, certainly believable given the circumstances! And yes, I do agree with you about making mistakes about something you're passionate about (personal experience agrees with you here) But, a mistake on the basic foundation of what a theme (themes) is (are) based on as a whole-is one of those daft mistakes that literally shouldn't happen because it's just absurd. An assumption; the creator of the survey, had someone who had to approve it would further obfuscate the situation on how it could have happened in the first place. So either one person/team made a mistake, or, one person/team made a mistake and another (team leader?) isn't doing their job properly, or, two people (team/team leader) made the mistake. Then there's the whole bricklink program with the castle. Severely underestimating the customer base for that. How could they get that sooo wrong if their market research was done well? Fans knew that'd go fast. Everyone did. How did they not? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they know nothing. They clearly do. But they also do make mistakes, as does everyone. As another example, I've worked with an absurd amount of bumbling idiots that don't know what they're doing, but yet it is the work of others that glosses over their bumbling idiocy that enables them to continue. Once they don't get glossed over as they're thrust into the lead position, then bumbling idiocy prevails. -

No offense taken, but in my opinion, you're wrong, because you're generalising. Of course, the company created those themes. Did the people that set up those surveys create those themes? 99% probability they didn't. Do they collect or have a passion for most of those themes? Given the mistake they made, most likely not. Because if they did, they certainly wouldn't have made that mistake. They'd also not have made that mistake had they done even an ounce of research into each of the themes. So, while a lot of people may claim to know more simply by being a fan, when that statement would typically be laughed off the forum, here, it's entirely relevant given the context. Case by case basis, here it's true. Literally proven by the ridiculous and amateur mistake they made. *edit* even further proven by their recognition of the mistake and attempt at rectifying it. I say they, I mean whoever created and approved that survey. Not TLG as a whole. -
I second this. Hadn't really much considered this set, but seeing this mod with 2 sets... The moment I see it on any kind of discount, I'll be getting it and doing this! It feels like it's much more in scale. Perhaps the turret looks a touch too big, but considering its made using pieces of just the sets, it's perfectly suitable and does the job very nicely. The only thing I'd wish to modify to that, is the turret guns so they can rotate up and down, but that'd be using pieces not from the set. You've done a great job on this, one I'm sure many people will now be appreciating and copying! Additionally, the exploded view of parts is also appreciated

Just because they're a company to make money, does not in the slightest form mean they're infallible to making big blinding mistakes now and then because their thought process just doesn't understand their own product as much as hardcore fans do, because, ultimately, you're right, they're wanting to make money so that's where their thought process lies. Whereas hard core/normal fans are in it for the love and passion of it, so have a deeper connection to the lego themselves. Just look at the voting debacle on the list of classic lego themes and how they split those up.... You'd assume the company that made them would have had a better idea on how to split them up, yet they massacred it. It was like it was done by someone with literally no knowledge of any of the themes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dooming them as bumbling idiots as a whole. They're more successful than I'll ever be. Than many other companies will ever be, that's undeniable. They are doing things right. But don't be blindly supporting them as impossible to do any wrong. They have people running it. People are the biggest cause of mistakes/errors/misunderstanding. So they can-and *will* happen. And it is also possible for a company to start getting dislocated from its *loyal* fans (not the average ones). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, can we seperate mandr from the PT vs OT thing? He brings stuff on himself... He's a public figure, not everyone will like him or what he does, he will get criticism. He's irrelevant to the PT/OT discussion. I mainly got into SW in the PT era, but had watched the OT before. I enjoyed both trilogies as much as each other, although too much cgi in the first film. I will side on the preference for wanting more PT sets, their ships/vehicles and locations were refreshingly different yet still retained the star wars feeling. But, it is what it is... TLG are playing it safe, we may have to wait for after the ucs RGS gets discontinued to find out how we'll it sold and therefore if they feel it links to demand for PT stuff in general and therefore hope we get more PT stuff. As already said... Vote with your wallets. That's the best we can do. -

Makes me wonder how a chinese company can manage to get them looking spot on, but the main company (TLG) still make one's that look like they could belong in duplo... I understand the feet stands on the broom might not be child friendly and break easily, but remove them and you still got a great representation... I mean look at the indented name text! Why is TLG slacking.... -

Not sure how I've not seen it before, but just googled jhae's atat... Is actually a thing of beauty, and while there are some really good versions out there, I gotta hand it to him, as far as minifig versions go, he's hit the nail on the head with it. TLG gonna find their version compared to this one a lot, if it's anywhere near the same size (cavegods is slightly bigger and a different class imo). If I hadn't made my own, I'd for sure be grabbing the instructions for jhae's! -

It would scale to about 2 ft height, 1 metre is quite off, but yes, it should be about minifig scale, or, likely ever so slightly smaller. Unless.... It has a base to assist with stability, similar to the probe droid. Thrn I'd expect a happy medium between the system size and cavegods. -

Attack of the clones wasn't that bad either. Sure, not as good as ROTS, but jesus, it's certainly not from the depths of hell like people are exaggerating it to be. TPM... Well... It had its good points, and.... At minimum, equally bad points too... But it was fresh, gave us new vehicles, the start of anakins life story, kept the star wars feel while being different, good locations and backdrops. On the ucs atat, that's excellent news! Can only hope they did blindly type in that number rather than mistake it for gunship info, but given the gunship set was revealed, I can't imagine why it'd still be secret info about being an exclusive or not... -

This has soooo many holes I don't know where to start... Same designers work on fiat's as do ferarri, so whack the price up a bit, they're made of the same materials, throw a ferrari badge on a fiat and its the same thing!!! Chuck a volkswagon badge on an audi and your vw is now an audi! (yes, I'm fully aware they often use the same parts, it's my point. No matter how close they are, they're still different cars.) The marketing/packaging/detailing in the model is aimed at those who want a more sophisticated/detailed/intricate build. Minifigs are a supporting addition. Not a main selling point. You're literally delusional. -
So, I'm supposed to move on, elsewhere. But the moment I do, I then 'back up' (not prove) what you've just quoted? I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't. At this point, I do want to give up... Because I'm not doing this for amusement, or any of the above. But yet, again, all you're doing is quoting an irrelevant point but to which puts me in a situation where if believed, I can't do right no matter how I proceed. So, you tell me what I should do now?

Like they've been doing to me this whole time I'm just trying to learn? He doesn't even try to help, just wants to do put downs and suppress those that do want to learn while using misinterpreted analogies. Even though, yes, I know it was wrong to.
