I cant believe the shear amount of vehicles you have done! And not to mention the details and amount of accuracy you have achieved with them! -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I believe it would take a fair amount of time and designing, and compromise in creating the UCS ATAT that TLG would be happy to market. The few main things to be considered are the size, (which directly affects) the stability, howvmuch detail to include on the exterior... If it should be done with bricks creating the smoothness, or plates, should it have any form of interior to reach out to those afols who couldnt justify buying it purely for themselves but could if their kids could interact with it a bit, what price point to go for, and could they realistically deliver a ucs atat that lives up to the name ucs at that price point rather than it looking simply like a slightly larger version of the current atat walker playset that is already at retail for about £100. As much as i love the ATAT i know for sure i wouldnt get one if it simply looked like a slightly larger version than we can already get now, and if the head didnt have the shaping and angles at least attempted that exist on the head. I would expect it looking in scale with itself properly, and with a better application of details. They certainly pulled it off well with the Slave 1, but I think that was always going to be easier than a 4 legged dog... -

Extremely impossible considering the snowspeeder set being more... -
The principle is good... but... the ship needs to look more battle damaged. Changing the colours of a few plates to dark bluish gray, and changing the radar domes on the top doesn't seem to re-enact the scene too well in my opinion, of a so heavily damaged ship that its crashed.

I love it when people use trans colour pieces that aren't the usual blues, and this, while being small, actually excells because it is small and the trans pieces have been used really well for the lava! The black, strangely works perfect for a previously lava scarred terrain, it doesn't just look like a bit of black lego. The trans neon green pieces finish it off making it look like some other planet, I really do like this!

I think you have quite a way to go. Watching the film specifically for the scenes for inspiration might be a good idea, then work from there. It is difricult to give criticism as such, at the moment as there really isn't too much there at this point in time. I think i remember seeing a picture that depicted a cross section of the entire hoth base. I am sure there are artistic drawings and other such images that could be used for inspiration as well. Keep at it :)

Your design for the film lends itself extremely well to Lego, and looks exactly how one would assume an official TLG set of this would look. Extremely good work Oky, and I'll be supporting it. Excellent job on the minifigs too! Such perfect likeness!

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ugh, please no, not another droid escape set... They are literally more boring than the token builds that come with the battle packs... which are getting quite good recently. Another Jedi Interceptor... well... each to their own, I know a lot of people are keen on these, they're just not my thing. The battle packs really interest me though, and the Bespin carbon freezing chamber!!! Constraction figs will be an easy pass... -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Fuppylodders replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I dont personally think it's strange, i think it makes sense, based on what some people have said, that it is based on halloween, but not specifically called that due to enabling it to be sold after halloween ends... Halloween is associated with people dressing up as monsters and stuff... As well as monsters. In this wave, there are people dressed as monsters, and there are monsters (and ghosts etc). I do wonder why though, they made that new wolf head when it is sooo similar to the previous. Good point about the chima eye holes as well. I think that is further evidence that it 'more than likely' slots on instead of a head. -

I seriously doubt there is a minifig head underneath the werewolf head. Look at the size of a minifig head, amd how wide it comes out in relation to the shoulders. Now look at tue lower inward sloping part of the wolf's cheek. There is no way a head would be inside that. It'll simply be a typical moulded head that slots on instead of a minifig head. -

Was thinking the same thing. Other than the scientist, who I simply just 'like'... I really like all or the others. Each one is awesome in my opinion, even the zombies. Absolutely love the fly, gargoyle and the grim reaper guy... Will need to give him a scythe though, or something... But then his face is quite cute too! The bansgee is pretty aweome too... But those semi trans clear leg pieces for the banshee and reaper... Awesome pieces! -

That last shot, without a doubt makes the photo look complete, even if it is edited in (quite well too!). Not entirely too sure on Lukes expressively happy face, but if thats what you have to work with then fair enough :) I like the overall look of it and the fact it is your own take on it, it guarantees something different. Nice job! -
Ive sent him a text letting him know.

Im impressed, and pleased for you that it holds! I hope that when finished it still holds, as it looks pretty damned good!

I think you should build it in real bricks as you have the design currwntly, and then go from there. My at-st is ultra fragile with its balance due to the ankles, and it is the one thing on it that i have yet to fix... And seriously dread fixing because ill probably have to lighten the head substantially at the same time. I do like how yours is done, and to be honest, it would be interesting to see how well those ball joints will do on the ankle. I wouldnt worry too much about interior as there is such limited space as you have proven, its just not worth it. Long as theres 2 minifigs glancing out of those eye holes is all that matters :D
-
There was a hoth at-st and an endor at-st. These differred in that the hoth one had quite longer legs and what appears to be a slightly smaller (or narrower? I cant remember) 'head' while tye endor one had smaller legs and maybe a slightly bigger head. That does look nice! But as you have highlighted, im also unsure, erring on the side that the ball joints wont have enough clutch power to hold it upright. *edited again Your one to me looks like it has the hoth versions head, and the endor versions legs?

I love this! I was searching images for a chocobo because I wanted to do one as Im trying to make all the main characters from FF7 out of lego, and came across this lego version. I saw it as a really good minifig version, and thought I'd try some of my own 'twist' on it. I hope you don't mind me posting it here, but I do want to give you full credit as I can't honestly say how mine would have turned out if I had not seen yours, but I do know that Im 100% happy with what has turned out :) Seeing yours again, I forgot to add the rear claw on each foot but, that can be sorted! The orange 'plume' on his head is unfortunately unavailable in yellow, but would have literally been perfect for his tufty bits of hair if it was. As it is, the single plume version does come in yellow, and that is currently on order... modified version of EB member srbandrews chocobo by Sam, on Flickr I also made a baby one based on this image: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/ffxi/images/4/48/Chocobo_Digging_and_Gardening1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060710144402 It uses the same plume for the one I have on order. LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In all honesty, I think it is as good as we should expect. Some very valid points were made on the viability of using chromed figs as normal playset figs, and the 'peelability/easy wear' would be the cause for quality issues for something that is primarily intended for heavy play/use. I really like it but do hope he comes with a black cloak to match what he is wearing. -

I would welcome KimT back, as that would stop people justifying breaking the rules time after time, and i wouldnt get annoyed and point out people breaking the rules because no one else is. Yes, by the way, i have reported, but not everyone sees that, and so for everyone else, will keep on breaking the rules. Not to mention you call me a hypocrite, yet you are even more so by sparking the fire in the first place then point out im adding to it?!? Its quite simple. Stop posting spoiler stuff, stop trying to justify breaking the rules and then pointing out how I am and detracting from the fact you guys are simply because you broke them in the first place. -

While you think I am annoying, I really don't care if I am annoying. You guys are annoying talking about stuff that doesn't belong in this thread. You guys are annoying not respecting the fact there are people that wish to know minimal about the new film coming out no matter how small or obvious a detail may be. You guys are annoying trying to justify breaking the rules all the time. You guys are annoying with your arrogance thinking people should avoid this thread because 'at some point spoilers will become inevitable'. No one should have to avoid this thread because only rumours and pictures of 2015 sets should be in this thread of which, annoyingly, you people have no respect for adhering to. Am I annoying you more now? Good. -

Why are you asking stuff about stuff that is not related to what this thread is intended for, ie, rumours and pictures of 2015 sets? -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Empire being involved in a Star Wars film isn't the issue, as you are twisting to fit your own context. I want to know as little as possible about the new film. Minus what Lego sets are coming out. I am very capable of perusing through words and instantly forgetting/not connecting things naturally because I put minimal effort into seeing things I don't want to. Hence I had not actually connected the fact that the new troopers were First Order, and had not even spent a second thinking that therefore, First Order were the new Imperials. But then it was blatantly spelt out and I can't block something blatantly spelt out. You think that sounds stupid? I've been known to do more stupid things, so it's not impossible. I really don't care what you say, because none of it regardless should be in this thread, your argument for it is completely invalid as you are trying to justify breaking the rules. I've said before, I'm not making rules up. They're there. And moderation of this thread has become so lacking that people are abusing it with putting in whatever comments they want no matter how disfigured they are from the INTENTION of this thread. I am still happily living in my cave, but because people break the rules it is hard to stick to knowing minimal. This thread is supposed to be safe of things outside rumours/pictures of 2015 sets.. Why are people ruining it by breaking the rules? And why do people like you try to justify it when the rules have been spelt out and when there are other threads in this forum where people are allowed to talk about this stuff but insist on doing it here? -

Oh come on what? What you said has nothing to do with any current rumour, therefore it shouldn't even be in this thread. Yet I tried to be nice about it with a simple and laid back *cough* spoiler *cough*.
