Went bloody CRAZY and ordered a load of Bespin Guards to bring my total up to 10. Also got an R5-A7 to complete my Mos Eisley droids.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

Do you have a pic of the lavender torso? -
You're right, not John Lewis as I said
-
Retail exclusive - so only available from Lego and, say John Lewis (UK)? This isn't bad news at all. I reckon Devil's Snare is in the Forbidden Corridor set beneath the trapdoor. Winged Keys would take up barely any parts as only a suggestion is needed, it's by far the least structural. As such I wouldn't bet against it being included in the chess set. I doubt the Final Challenge will be though

This sounds very sudden... I have no idea what is going on

Which piece?
-
Lmao.

I really think they made the right call with Cat Hermione's eyes, I think the pupils would have made her look more villainous.
-
Now that's just wonderful!!!!

I might be wrong, but I think this new Harry will be the 13th distinct variety of Gryffindor uniform since 2018. I've not included the Herbology jackets or Quidditch uniforms. Normal jumper, open cardigan, closed cardigan, Harry (gloves), Hermione AC, Diagon Alley, Moments jumper, CMF x5 (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dean, Neville). That is impressive, would like to see the other three houses given some love too.

Fair enough that's a great figure. Hair could be better but the rest is good.

Well that's news to me, very interesting! I'm guessing it would be of their apartment, like the Big Bang Theory set, which would be a great opportunity to get some lovely purple bricks :)

Like I say, I really don't know much about Marvel. Another suggestion was it was a new Monica from Friends It's a nice looking torso print, whoever it's for.
-
Nope, it's just the Flumes. One of the comments on Instagram mentioned it might be an Asgardian from Marvel, but I don't know enough about Marvel to say if they're right.

I don't think the other figure is HP. Definitely from the Forbidden Coridor/Chess set. All look very good!

Ahhhh, lovely bit of nostalgia there :)

I do like it! I love the way you've presented Peeves too, nice and informative. Good choice of head too. Is that Lady hiding behind the Hogwarts Express there?

I'll be doing the same thing, like the Architect of Hogwarts statue from the first advent calender. Up until now there weren't a great number of golden hairpieces that were appropriate, which these figures should rectify a bit.

Thanks, I wrote a long list of things I wanted to include and the bell tower was one of my top priorities, I'm glad I was able to squeeze it on

I think your roof design looks very nice! I also really like how you've made the car look beaten up, good job

Yessssssss dark tan bun!

This is my reimagined version of Saber Island - this time the outpost has been built on the former volcano that makes up Volcano Island. Set on a 32x32 base plate, made from under 1600 pieces with seven minifigures, a seagull, a shark, a crab, a lobster, a clam and a starfish. The little dock is served by a crane that can lift the cargo up to the fortress. For the poor Imperials, it's up that rickety staircase we go. The staircase is in a bad state and many of the handrails have rotted away. Some supports have been put in to hold up what's left, let's hope they're strong enough. A view up at the outpost from the staircase. I added an extra level to the original set. I also added a little extension to the side. The roof also has a tiny bell tower build to raise the alarm when enemies approach. The cannon emplacement and tree are present as they are in the original set. I added a creeper plant up the other side of the building to add a bit of visual interest. I chose dark red as the base colour, I almost went for dark tan. All three balconies and windows in the middle floors have different builds. The roof has been enlarged and I used the broken rungs technique from the Elusys Ra Anwal's Forbidden Island build to make the tower look run down. I would ideally have the telescope on pearl gold, but the sextant piece isn't available in that colour. The roof has a sextant and compass accessory, you can just about see the alarm bell in the tiny building. Below the roof is the Governor's office. The Governor's table is complete with maps, quill and ink pot, goblet and decanter, with a nautical painting on the wall. The office is lit by a chandelier, the table build, and most of the interior is SNOT. Below that is the barracks with two bunks, below that the entrance hall with a store room to the side. The barracks has a little weapon rack, the entrance hall has a banner and chest full of gems. 'In real life' there would be a mess hall and kitchen closer to the camera. And now to the Volcano Island. One thing I always wanted to do was have a skull that was solid rock, not with gaps for the eyes or nose. The skull opens up to give access to a hidden cave where the Pirates can store their loot. I did want to add a subterranean prison with access to the cave, but there was no room. The Pirates have to be very sneaky to get in their hideout under the watchful eye of the Imperials. I should have rendered these without the roof, it's very dark. There are little islands dotted around covered in coins. There is also a carved stone skull with glowing eyes, I wonder who carved it... The hole here is big enough to get your hand in for play in the cave. So that's it, I hope you liked my take on a combination of these two older sets. Any comments or criticisms are, of course, welcome

Same. The new one looks good, but the older black legs looked better. Not sure if it's more accurate though.

Uh, this is disappointing, but honestly I don't care. The brickbuilt figures are basically the art sets for me - no interest in them before I even get a chance to see them. Best of luck with them, it means I get to save a bit to put towards the rest of the summer wave. Alsondor the chess set, the figures could be Hagrid/Maxime sized on their little plinths and be in scale (in Lego terms anyway), the 2012 horse mold would be the right scale too. Pop them on 3x3 squares and this would be compatible with the rest of the sets. Bigger and it would seem we'll out of scale.

There are two big ifs for the chess set that will decide if I buy it or not. 1. The minifigures - Harry Ron and Hermione should be in the same outfits in the Forbidden Corridor set, so unless they are in robes in FC, or this set comes with additional figures, it's probably a pass. 2. Exclusive prints or parts - I can't see there being too much in this set that I don't already have or can get for a reasonable amount at this stage, unless of course there are some exclusive parts or prints. I'm really excited by how this set will look, but at £200+ I probably can't justify buying it and will hopefully be able to assemble it from parts I already have. If it came with more challenges though...
