It is a great resource, but it mixes book and film lore - the location of the library is a prime example of the two worlds being combined. Yeah, I'll see about getting my notes in order when summer is here and I am finally reunited with them... and all my Lego! I really like that PoA idea too, sort of a mixture of two of the 2004 sets.

Haha, it's my magnum opus and took hours to make, just so I could someday complete Hogwarts in Lego.
-
From memory it's somewhere in the Long Gallery, but on the Transfiguration Courtyard side rather than the greenhouse side. Due to Covid I haven't seen any of my notes or images in over a year, so I'm not 100% sure!

The AT was also in DHII. Any quite a lot of rooms do have specific places they are located in the castle, which all the 2018+ LEGO sets have ignored at least once per set. Not that it really matters, as you say you could put any rooms you liked in the Bell Towers/Central Tower/North Tower and so on and the sets could still be great. To be fair the Clock Tower doesn't appear in the books either, but there is a mention of a school bell. And lots of parts of the Castle change somewhat through the films, so the fact their turret changes isn't a big problem. In fact, they are one of the more constant parts of the castle through all eight films.

This feels very much like rumours surrounding the Lord of the Rings TV series at the moment - rumour based partially on misunderstood/unclear information, but more importantly the desire for clicks from showbiz and pop culture news sites.

Do you mean Pike? https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Pike

I don't think Nott appears in the films, only Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode, as well as members of the Quidditch team and movie only characters.

If only for this wave - not ideal, but at least we'd get a Hufflepuff one to complete the set for those of us who want the Moments torsos as prefects. It's be a shame to miss an opportunity for three normal Slytherin torsos in the Bathroom set, and three normal Gryffindor in the CoS (although we've had a ton of them already so not so much of an issue)

Talking of that Winnie the Pooh set, how're people finding the new (since 2018) plant piece that the WtP set has on the tree? I've got to admit I'm really not a fan of it as tree foliage as it appears in Winnie the Pooh or Medieval Blacksmith. I'd like more Forbidden Forest sets in the future of this line and really hope they stick with 4x3 and 6x5 plant leaves for them.
-
Yeah, if they could print Dobby's eyes, why not the goblins? And the reused Flitwick torso... I think the Suit of Armour was lazy - the wrong helmet, the wrong colour chestplate, the wrong weapon... Still better than the 2007 one though
-
Surely not?! I really enjoyed the small sets like Slytherin and Troll in the Bathroom from the old lines, I think the Slytherin Shield from that set is one of the best parts from that era.
-
Oh yeah, they're minor, but I meant them to show the real even spread of material. I really don't like the Crookshanks we got in the CMF, so perhaps a new Fluffy cat mold would be good for him and Mrs Norris (I'm use the CMF TLM cat for her at the moment). The giants from DHII would be good too, but they're easy enough to MOC up based on Grawp, although the faces aren't as good. Kreacher, more goblins and Inferi are also missing, but I guess they'd be minifigs rather than brick built or molded creatures.

Hogwarts Express, Ford Anglia, Knight Bus, Motorbike and Side Car, Beauxbaton's Carriage, Durmstrang Ship and Hogwarts Carriage are important or quite important, then there are the sleighs and boats across the black lake, the boat in the Inferi Cave, the Ministry sled in Hogsmeade which are more minor, but still quite a potential for vehicles. I think its also good to mention there is a huge amount of creatures in this theme as well. It's far more balanced than, say Star Wars which is very vehicle heavy, or Lord of the Rings which was very location heavy.

The Harry Potter line has been very popular so far, and there have been rumours of it emulating Star Wars to be another evergreen Licenced theme. There are still a good few years in the theme in terms of potential as the final two films have not been touched yet, apart from one CMF figure, and there are plenty of gaps to fill with potentially great sets. Fantastic Beasts had good sets based on bad films, IMO, no idea what will happen when the third one is released. That said, I'd also love to see the return of Castle, almost as much as Pirates.

I think the same. I remember there used to be a WB shop in Blue water near where I live, much like a Disney store except for WB licences. There was loads of HP stuff with images like this one, until they were replaced with actors from the films. You can really see the likeness in Snape and Dumbledore's 2001 figures. I got rid of all my stuff from that era though, although I might still have a few of the original Chocolate Frog cards knocking about. You're right of course, not sure why I wrote Sir Cadogan in the end as he's not all that discreet... maybe I should have said Phineas Nigellus or Violet :)

As far as I know, these are the only official concept images of Peeves that have been released, from the Character Vault book. I personally doubt we'll ever get official minifigures barely seen in the films like Charlie Weasley, cut like Peeves or omitted like Ludo Bagman. I could see portraits that don't appear in the films showing up as stickers maybe. Perhaps a lovely image of Sir Cadogan with his fat horse

Whilst there are obviously loads of varients missing, I was surprised how much of the first three films had been covered so far. After the next wave we're only really missing Percy, Lee, Poppy Pomfrey, Firenze, Irma Pince, Prof. Vector and the House Ghosts from Hogwarts, as well as some more minor students, many of whom got recast more prominently in later films. Outside of Hogwarts all I can think of is Marge (and Ripper), the Leaky Cauldron crowd and the Masons who visit Privet Drive in CoS. A proper Crookshanks and Mrs Norris would be good though. The Troll from the Girl's Bathroom, and Fang and Norbert have obvious sets they could appear in.

Let's assume for a minute hat all five August sets are remakes or partial remakes of sets since 2018, or brick built creatures. Although I don't have any interest in, for example, a brick built Niffler, I don't think repeats of sets over the last few years are too bad necessarily. For example, the Hogwarts Express could be based on any number, or multiple films. It's appearance in PS and PoA are quite well covered, with PS Harry and Trolley Witch available and PoA Hermione, Lupin and Dementor (Harry and Ron have the wrong torsos). It also has the meeting of Harry and Cho in GoF and the big scene when Harry suspects Malfoy of being a Death Eater in HBP. The train could come with either King's Cross or Hogsmeade Station, perhaps also the long curved Viaduct. In addition to general station bits and pieces like trolleys there could be a London Taxi for KC or a Thestral Carriage for Hogsmeade. The 2018 set was much better in person than I was expecting, but if this came out as the £250 set, it could be amazing. Also, the Quidditch Pitch set from 2018 now looks a bit short and blocky, with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff now having Quidditch robe prints from DA, and Madam Hooch only appearing in the Bricktober pack so far, I'd be happy with another one of these. I reckon the First Task set or Aragog could be redone with a better beast, but the scenery and figures for those sets are pretty much done.

I'm delighted to be getting JFF (more Hufflepuff stuff please!) and Sinistra - I thought the chances of a minifig of such a minor character was zero, even last year. I'm still really looking forward to seeing the others, but the above two have really excited me.

Don't get you hopes up about the Entertainer selling Harry Potter stuff, their owner says it promotes witchcraft and won't stock anything HP based. I have found the odd Star Wars bargain in thee, but not for years. Amazon in the UK has been having some stock issues I think due to us no longer being in the EU, so even though things are cheaper and free postage, lots of sets seem to be coming from mainland Europe and taking longer to arrive. John Lewis and Smyths (not WH Smiths) seem to be pretty good at matching online prices or doing deals every now and again. I still haven't bought the books yet, and although for me they are sort of a waste of money as the whole book part isn't of much interest to me, I do think they look fantastic and would like to see more. Which is annoying for my budget I also really like the girls bathroom style, but my one hope in that style is no massive panel pieces! The 1x1x5 and 1x2x5 are okay, but the 1x6x5 can be so bland.

I don't think this photo is exactly rare, but it's new to me. It shows the street looking towards the Leaky Cauldron, with the released shops on the left side of the photo.

This is the layout in CoS, in PS it is the same but Flourish and Blotts is where the 2nd Hand Bookshop is in that image, and Ollivander's is where Flourish and Blotts is. For the later films check out the Studio Tour Google map. Knockturn Alley is below the Leaky Cauldron. Personally I'm going to lay mine out as it appears in PS, but replace Broomstix with WWW.

True, but the 2018 Great Hall set has a dock already attached, so the Boathouse would be at water level. Kinda I have some okay cloister plans but most involve illegal techniques so... If we ever do get cloisters I reckon they'd either be new pieces, or more likely very underwhelming with current ones. The Hog's Head is quite important too, and appears in more than one movie. The other shops we know so well from the book are literally missed with a blink.

I had a go trying to get a bit more shaping round the top of the torches. I had a mess around for half an hour or so and came up with the above. I think the first one looks about a plate too high on top, the second maybe comes down over the columns a little too far. Oh, and not all the pieces come in one colour!

The Dark Tower (PoA), Boathouse and the Entrance/Viaduct Courtyard (DHII) have the potential to be good sets too, but not much opportunity in any for interiors.
