  1. I like it, it could be a set. It looks similar too, but ultimately a very different style and construction method than Milan did with his ZIL crane. But, that's probably because both creations are based on the same type of vehicle.
  2. I'd have to agree. It's kind of difficult if there is a wide variety of colors, but a narrow selection of parts in each color. Also, I think that the new fender parts in 42039 should have been black or white, or literally any other color other than bright green. It's really annoying when you get a new part that is in a wonky color.
  3. I know, new molds are probably the single most expensive aspect of making the parts. However, Lego could still maybe introduce more odd numbered tiles, like they did with the 1x3 tiles. I personally don't see them doing it. That's because if you have 1 odd numbered tile, you can combine it to produce any other odd number. For instance, combine a 1x3 tile with a 1x2 and you get a 1x5.
  4. The only real gripe I have about this set is the fact that the outriggers are so primitive. Would it really have been that hard to have them driven, like 42009, or even better, pneumatic? However, if that were the case, they might have to reduce the number of pins they so love...
  5. I do not know, It's hard to say without it in hand, but I have actually driven the present style turntable with 12z double bevel gears.
  6. the new narrow 11 stud cylinder would be great to use with outriggers, and really just about everything. I'd probably modify 42043 actually, make the crane arm a proper Palfinger type, in order to use it as a taxi crane for another one of my projects...
  7. I've only ever gotten this message if I tried to post a link to a page, instead of a direct link to the image. With most images, the link to it should end with the extension. With Brickshelf, I go to the image, right click on it, and select the 'Copy image location', then go to my comment and click on the option to post an image, and paste it in. I could have sworn that there was a tutorial for this, maybe you should have a link to it in your signature, Blakbird.
  8. It's not nearly as stunning when you find out it has no front suspension. My overall opinion is that b models can be pretty cool, but not including the instructions in the box is a little bit annoying, and sometimes they are not worth building. But, for some sets, the B model is just as good, if not better than, the A model. I just feel that now the quality is hit and miss. With the whole 2 in 1 thing, you would think that it would mean the set can be built into two equally good models.
  9. I've used an approach similar to this, but with larger 40z gears, as a substitution for a Geneva mechanism.
  10. Yes, you are. Just compare the wheels to the sides of the dump bed. They are pretty clearly gray.
  11. Great find, Jovel. It looks like we will be getting a new and improved turntable after all.
  12. Son of a gun, you're right. Maybe they only installed a finalized version in one of the Arocs, and the cranes have prototypes.
  13. Typically, August 1st, or the week right before.
  14. Those parts are not new, they are Technic, Link 1 x 16 While these are not new, they have not been used in a mainstream set since 2009, and not in a Technic set even longer. Also, I just noticed that the vents on the sides are not stickers, but brick built, and they are putting the stickers that tell what does what on separate tiles rather than on beams. Also, the functions selectors slide between functions, which means that there are 4 total shift rings, meaning that the functions can be operated forward or reverse without switching the batterbox. It's a nice detail, but it almost doesn't matter, given that the battery box switch would be easy to access. Also, going by the box, slewing is motorized. I'll be picking this one up.
  15. How would you route the hoses? also, a system like that would make for limited expansion. A better solution is to have the pneumatic hoses have an end that screws on, or else something that can clip the hose on well, and better seals. Also, there is a picture out there that shows that, indeed, the Arocs has sprung rear suspension.
  16. I just noticed thar the Arocs has sprung rear suspension, looking at a new high res picture. Also, we have 4 moterized functions:dump bed, crane rotate, outriggers, and compressor.
  17. I know a good deal about cars and trucks, and have a ton of free time, so count me in.
  18. He is, but as he moves the steering, you can clearly see that there is a 20z bevel gear in the mechanism moving as well. Also, at other points in the video, you can see that the beacon lights on the cab are geared to something, so I assume that's how it works.
  19. Shut up and take my money, the Arocs is awesome. I'm probably going to skip out on 42030 and get this beauty. I may even get two, for the sake of all the new parts. Edit: I just noticed that above the 3rd axle on each side are yellow pieces that are probably removable wheel chocks, a very nice touch. Also, the designer should not be that hard to guess: Markus Kossman.
  20. The pic of the crane was an early leak, apparently. The Fair officially starts tomorrow, and it should be displayed, along with the elusive fire plane set. I can't wait.
  21. It looks brilliant, spot on to the real thing. Although, I think the turn signals should be different. Maybe you could use some transparent tiles instead of the orange liftarms?
  22. I uploaded the picture to my Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/saberwing2/Technic2015/42042/42042n.jpg
  23. Yes, that would help. Okay, so you want it to be a UCS style model, with some functionality, Right? Also, are you okay with manually posing the wheels, as doing that instead of having a steering mechanism would makes things a lot easier.
  24. I like the mask usage. It makes it look like she is wearing a one piece swimsuit. (Appropriately enough.)
  25. Great build, and the fact that it is RC is a nice bonus. Great work for a fist MOC, the proportions are excellent.
